bad news... kind of..... well i hope not.....

every year, mid november, our local village put up a beautiful christmas tree. the village association dress up as victorians and sing hymns around the tree, then santa turns up and switches the christmas tree lights on. everybody receives a glass of mulled wine and a mince pie and then all the children go to see santa in his grotto. it's a fantastic event and all the local kids absolutely love it. anyway, just been informed that it might not go ahead this year due to government cuts :-? the village may not be allocated the money to keep up with this fabulous tradition that the kids so look forward to. what a shame, i'm so disappointed. hopefully they'll be given the money but i have a horrible feeling they won't.

it's a tradition of mine and my families to go to this event every year, it's an unsettling feeling to think we can't do it this year.

cheesy I'm sure by the time I'm finished catching up on the countdown posts, someone will have suggested the people in the town team up and make it happen on their own. All you need is someone to donate a tree and people can cooperate in making the rest happen. We have an Annual Old Fashioned Christmas Walk Downtown, but if they were going to cancel it, I'm sure there are enough people interested to keep it going. In fact, it doesn't cost the city much because so many people volunteer their time to make it a success. If they can come up with the money for the tree and decorations the citizens can do the rest. Hope it works out.
 
:snowball: What a busy three days this has been!!!

I've been part of a committee organizing a Family Interactive Conference, today was the icing on the cake dayand tomorrow it's happening. We've been working on it off and on since last May. Looking forward to it in one way and can't wait for it to be over in another.

I had a Rip Van Winkle kind of dream three times last night that I fell asleep and missed the whole thing. Not gonna happen. That would be like sleeping through Christmas. I'm not the kind of person who stresses over things, instead I get excited like a kid at Christmas. Chances are I'll be excited tonight too. I just won't be resting in bed listening for the sound of sleigh bells tonight.

Hope to pop by tomorrow, but have some plans so I might not get back this way until Sunday.

AND WORK UNTIL 8am...

Thanks CM3!!!!!! I hope you have a great weekend also!!!!!!! The apple cake is good but it will be better when I get some more apple cider to go with it tomorrow.

i'm just about to tuck into a nice hot coffee and a chocolate chip muffin, then it's time to get my little girl dressed, we have a busy day!

i'm going for a chinese meal tonight to celebrate one of my best friend's birthday, i can't wait. i love catching up with my girlfriends.

tomorrow we will be going to my inlaws for sunday lunch and a nice relaxing day. enjoy your weekend everybody!

just taking a little break from housework....the floors are vacuumed and cleaned, laundry is done....and the next laundry is already in the mashine....cooking a meal in a few minutes....spaghetti with homemade tomato sauce....very delicious......and then continue....after that I will go visit my grand-parents with kandice
