Good evening, Christmas family.

It is raining "pitchforks" here and nasty and cold outside. Inside, however, it feels like CHRISTmas !!! I have the cable channel on that plays all Christmas music and I am getting ready to hang my Advent calendars !! I should have had this done by now but time slipped away. This is one of the first times I have felt that "magic glow" inside this Season. Tomorrow is also my dear sister's birthday !!!!!!!! I plan on giving her her Birthday presents on Saturday as I am supposed to go and help her with her tree !!!!

It is always such a wonderful evening. We are just a couple of Christmas nuts when we get together on tree decorating evening. I hope the weather holds up a bit but it is supposed to be cold here in NE Ohio......Very Christmassy !!!!

Well, it's December 1st. Last month of 2010. I can't believe how fast November went by! Time for the 25 days of Christmas

Good Evening Everyone!!!!!! It has been a fun day here. I walked over to my great aunt and uncles apartment this morning and helped them put their spiral Christmas trees outside. Then we sat around and talked for a few hours. My great uncle was telling me stories about Christmas mornings when he was young. My great grandma was really into Christmas and my grandpa took after her. My great uncle told me my grandpa was usually up before the sun on Christmas morning and was dragging everyone out of bed to see what Santa had brought. My mom has told me he was the same way as an adult. He was always getting her and my aunt out of bed as soon as it starting get light outside on Christmas morning. She said that he was always more excited than anyone else on christmas day. That is where she got her love for christmas and I am now taking after her. So I guess when people ask why I love christmas so much I can truthfully say that it is a family tradition. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Goood morning all! =) Can't believe how fast december came!! =)
All the snow has melted here! But it's really cold! Some of my friends who studied in Russia say that winters in Holland feeel colder :S But I am cheerful none the less!
Now off to get some coffee to get my day started!

Oh before I forget:
2 days to going to see maybe our future house
3 days to Saint Nicholas

(who rides on the roofs of the houses with his horse every night, to fill the shoes of the good children and listen to the songs they sing for him! =) )

I have a cloth one and a talking one with a tree that you add an ornament each day and a snowman announces how many days left until Christmas. I also bought 2 for my grandsons that have chocolate in each window you open.

Hey Everyone, I know Im late but I hope you all had a nice Thanksgiving. I have been very busy and between and kids and I being sick I havent had a chance to get on. I hope to catch up with you all soon. Cant believe tomorrow is December 1st!

Sinterklaas and Zwarte Piet, chocolate letters and Speculaas...many great memories growing up. Mom and dad told us the story every year and also provided all the goodies that go with it. I still have my wooden shoes as do my brothers and sister.
I never continued the tradition with my kids because their dads family did not and he wanted to stick with his family's traditions.
Maybe it is time to start it again!

Xmas specials were on 3 stations last night and I spent the evening wrapping stocking stuffers while flipping channels.

Yes, we started ours today too! This is something we have done since the kids where born. Their calendars are all from 1989 (had a house fire that summer so all where replaced at them same time) They are cloth with a little mouse that gets moved every day for the countdown. Most days when they get up there is also a small gift of some kind for them. (they got Christmas socks today!)
It is so much fun to surprise them.

Speaking of surprises, they found another one just like their's, brand new in a thrift store and are now getting stuff to put in mine! I have great kids!!!
