I got a last-minute opportunity to go bird hunting with my father-in-law and my brother-in-law yesterday afternoon. You don't pass that up! So I to a couple of personal hours, got my son out of school 30 minutes early, and off we went. I hope someday my son looks back fondly on the times he went hunting with me, like I do about my youth hunting with my dad.

I am sure that he will always love the memories that you are creating with him. My grandpa died when I was 4 and the only memories that I really have of him is when he use to take me fishing. Those memories mean everything to me. My mom and dad got divorced right after that and most of the memories I have of my dad involves him yelling and fighting with my mom.

Yeah some sad news - My Wife said the Christmas stuff has to come down this weekend. Boo urns hehe

BOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! cheesy

Don't usually post in this thread but just wanted to say HELLO and a Merry Christmas to everyone! A chilly day today but warm in comparison to lately (upper 30s, I think!).. snow tomorrow - of course, I have to drive about 45 min to an appointment so that should be interesting!

Sounds like you have a good feel for what's important, Brad.
(And Christmas, of course!)

Hey everyone! We're having a snow day today in St. Louis! This is my first official snow day in about 9 years. My work isn't closed, but it just so happens to be my day off - YAY! DH is off work today too, so the whole family is just hanging out. You know, snow isn't so bad when you get to stay home in your jammies and just enjoy looking at it :)

So we just got done with breakfast - scrambled eggs, french toast and hot chocolate. Next we'll be lazy for awhile and then we'll have some home made broccoli cheddar soup for lunch and then probably just some sandwiches for dinner. At some point we'll probably bundle up DD (2yo) and take her out to play in the snow for about 10 min, but that is about it b/c it is only 9degrees outside! Eesh! Can we say more hot chocolate??

Anyways, 310 days to the season! You guys are right, Christmas never really ends - at least for those of us that keep the spirit all through the year. Even when my last tree comes down, the anticipation for next Christmas will become even stronger. I feel bad for those that don't have the Christmas joy all year round like we do.

Well, you all enjoy your day - I know that I will!

Brad, I'm sure your son appreciates the opportunities for father-son bonding. Nothing better than spending time away from home and technology for that!

On another note, we are about 8 pages ahead of last year's pace! Way to go, gang. Neato!

That sounds like a really lovely day!!! Have a great snow day and stay warm!

Dropped my daughter off in London, school starts again for her on Monday, and Wednesday she finds out if they are going on strike or not.....we are really praying not! She is doing so well, 4. grade average (which is A to A+) and it would really suck for her to have to put her studies on hold, as it would for all students who would suffer because of this.

Feel free to join in and post as often as you like and be careful driving to your appointment tomorrow.

Christmasstar- I hope everything works out and that your daughters teachers reach some kind of agreement.

We are up to 5 inches of snow and it is starting to move out now. The heavy bands have all moved through and we will just be getting some light snow through tomorrow. Since the heavy stuff was over with I went out and shoveled the sidewalk and cleaned out around the cars of everyone in my building. Out of the six apartments in my building I am the only person younger than 50 and most are over 70. I try to help out during the winter because the maintenance staff takes forever to get around and shovel the sidewalks and then when the plow the streets they just pile it all up behind everyones cars. I try to go out before they start plowing and shovel out in between and behind everyones cars and pile it all up in the middle of the street so when they come through on the first pass and plow the center of the street with the blade straight they shove it out of the way. That way when they come back on the second and third passes with the blade angled there is not much there for them to plow up behind our cars. I hope that makes sense. I hear a heating pad calling my name so I will talk to you later.

made - how kind of you! Now take it easy and enjoy the beautiful snowfall!!

Hi everyone! It is snowing!!! Schools closed early today because of the snow, ice, and cold. I know some of you are laughing, but we aren't prepared for this kind of weather here in Alabama.

No snow here, much to my kids' dismay.

Ok, to my dismay, too. cheesy
