Good morning all.
I have a question. When does the Countdown in the left ( Days, Hours ... ) of the forums start ?
Hey, Carol! Jeff said they are working on it so that it's compatible with other browsers (I think). It should start up soon.

Good Thursday morning, my Christmas friends!

I've got a busy day of meetings lined up today, so I'll be in and out all day. My supervisor did my annual review yesterday, and it went great. Many compliments and thanks for a job well done. Sometimes that's better than a big, fat raise...ok, not really. cheesy

I hope you all have a great day! cheesy

I am glad it went well!

According to the Bizarre American Holidays website today:
January 14 is . . . . National Dress Up Your Pet Day

I only have a sweater for my 5 lb chihuahua because she gets soooo cold during the winter. She has no hair on her little belly. She actually gets excited when she sees the sweater and pushes her head through it trying to put it on. She will not go outside without it on.

Good Morning Everyone! Another windy day here today. The weeks almost over....Thank Goodness. I'm looking forward to the weekend. My niece who is a cheerleader is cheering at a game on Saturday so my daughter and I will go and watch her. Daughter will have a 3 day weekend because of MLK Day on Monday. Today I plan to to work on organizing my Christmas stuff and going through stuff in general so I can box it up and take it to the thrift store. Hope you all have a good day!

Hello everyone!

Guess what I did last night. I fell down the stairs to my house. I have no idea what happened. One moment I was upright, the next moment I was kissing dirt. Bless my little 8 year-old's heart. He was with me and it kind of scared him. The next time I went to walk outside, he had me wait for him so he could watch and make sure I got down the stairs safely...just like I used to do with him. I wasn't hurt. I have some bruises and I am soar, but nothing too bad. I was lucky because it could have been worse.....
About the time you came away from the fall without serious injury, I distinctly heard a bell ring!
Glad you had that guardian angel, Sugarplum.
I was not quite so lucky when I fell down stairs (on Christmas Eve 2004, no less!). Wound up with a bad ankle sprain and limped for about 6 months.

Good Morning, Lucky Friends!

Yet another cold one here in Raleigh, where we are again in the 20's.
(I feel like I might as well be copying and pasting this each morning!)
It is calm and sunny however with the promise of FIFTIES by this afternoon. We have not seen that in a while.

Our downslope-to-the-weekend count:
Days to the Season: 303
Days to Christmas Day:345
UNDER half a week now to Milestone number one!
(And the sun is shining brightly through that "window"!)

Have a Thrilling Thursday, Folks!

How cute! I've got 2 sweaters for Raisin. One is a geeky brown, orange and cream colored. I call this one his Harvard Student sweater....*L* The other is a dark and light blue with a decal type patch of a fire hydrant on it...*L* although he has hair it's not thick enough like Neo's to keep him warm and he gets cold really easily. He's usually shivering before we have made it to the second step outside...*L* I only wish Raisin was like your dog and would dive in excitedly to get his sweater on...he tends to fight me on it. But once we get it on he is forever grateful. Oh yes and we also bought him a Santa suit (no hat) just a red velvet and white fuzz with a black belt on it outfit.

Good morning! National dress your pet day...LOVE IT!!! :D

It's Jan 14th & you guys/girls have chatted up 66 pages already!!! I'd say we are in for another record setting year!!!

I took down all my Christmas decorations on Saturday :( BUT I put up all my snowmen Tuesday night!!! :) Just can't get enough of having lights up in the room!

Hope you are all having a great day!!!

Ahhhhhhhhh

I just found a gift and card I forgot to mail for Christmas! It is for my brother and his wife.....they must think I don't like them anymore :-?

I will get in the mail today or tomorrow and they can have it for Rudolph day instead.

As a Packer fan, I am with you pulling for the Cowboys this weekend! Lets go Cowboys! With a Dallas win, I'll be able to enjoy the rest of the playoffs.cheesy

As a fellow Packers fans, I never thought I would ever be cheering for the Cowboys.

I am so glad the very cold weather is over for now. It was in the upper 40's today. It felt nice considering what we have been having. I wouldn't mind if it stayed like this for a while. If it's not going to snow, I don't want the freezing temperatures.

I hope you all had a great day, have a great night, and I hope tomorrow will be a blessing.

So glad you were not seriously hurt. And yes, this suddenly warm weather is very welcome. Hope you have a great day and feel better.

Good morning, everyone!!

I like Thursdays. It is the end of the work week for me and quite possibly my least stressful day. It leads to three days off from work and school with only two hours in the gym and a two hour practice tomorrow night to be done. Saturday and Sunday are usually completely free. It's nice to leave the weekend open! Of course, I really should start working on a 20 page paper that is due by April... I think that will be next weekend.

Hitting the 1000 mark will be quite the accomplishment. So early, too. I'm sure we'll all manage to continue the Spirit of Christmas throughout the year! Have a great day everyone!!!

Congratulations. It is always good to be recognized for good work.

I seem to be the resident exterminator here at work...Over a donzen mice since December 15th...I knew we had a problem but this is ridiculous!!!

I drink coffee all day, everyday...probably two pots when all is said and done...Too much do you think?

300 days sure sounds nice when you are just a week or two passed Christmas...Not bad at all...

Sorry to hear of the challenges folks are facing! Illness, financial distress, losses in families...these are scary times...When I look at the news and see what is happening in Haiti I am literally brought to tears...All we can do is rally around each other and help where we can...There ARE better days ahead...I can feel it!

I'm blessed way beyond what I deserve on my worst days...On good days I'm almost embarassed...

Well as for me, if the Cowboys don't make it, I actually want to see Arizona to get another shot. I like Kurt Warner, I like his whole story of how he came from nowhere to take the Rams to the Super Bowl. Then how the Rams just about ruined his career and he went to the Giants and I thought he was done. Then he makes a comback in Arizona, I would love to see him win another Super Bowl, hopefully not against the Ravens, LOL. I was so dissapointed last year that they didn't win the Super Bowl. Nothing against the Packers, I like Aaron Rodgers, but he has his whole career ahead of him to try to get back there.

I was in Nevada for most of Tuesday and Wednesday and it was a mix of rain and snow the whole time. Driving home last night we hit the Utah-Nevada border and it was like going through a curtain. We just can't buy a storm here right now. All of our snow looks old and tired. It's cold, but no weather to brighten things up. Someone send us a storm!!! (I want a couple of snow days...)

sugarplum fairy----we have evil steps inside our house: I have fallen down them once & DH has fallen down them twice. I had a huge bruise on my backside & I'm pretty sure my tailbone was broken. That was months ago and I still have soreness after sitting still for a long period of time. At least we have a landing between floors to keep us from breaking our necks.

If we're looking for milestones to get through the year, I had one 1/12: my brother & MIL both had a birthday. Next one: 1/18---I'm off work for MLK Day.

As an older person with experience, take my advise: ALWAYS use the handrail when descending stairs!
In almost every insurance claim I ever handled in such situations, the person was not using the rail.

True on Rodgers, but it can be difficult to attract players to Green Bay. Although that is changing, I just hope they can hold on to the team they have. It's tough to see them play so well for seven out of eight weeks and then unleash a real stinker (talking about the defense, mainly). As usual, I can only look forward to next year. Until then, the NHL season is still in full swing and Olympic Hockey is only a month away!!

I will feel happy for Warner if the Cardinals can pull it off. He's really a great story and a class act. Although he and Fitzgerald completely burned the Packers secondary last weekend, I will feel extremely happy for Fitz to win it. He's definitely one of the top 3 WRs in the NFL and deserves another shot at it.
