Congrats to your daughter, Christmas-a-Holic! That's great news!

My son seems unaffected by the gigantic gash on his chin... such a trooper! We're going out for a little walk later today.. I think yesterday took a lot out of us both because we've just been cozied up on the couch all morning! :) I have to mop and hang some laundry in a bit... and thinking of making savory crepes for dinner, mmm! Very boring day, lol!

Thanks for everyones well wishes for my daughters job interview as a lab instructor in college. I told her you all wished her well and she said, "THANKS!"

She went for the interview Wednesday afternoon. She felt good about it but then the nerves kicked in because they told her they were interviewing 12 people for the job and told her if she doesn't hear anything by Monday at 7 pm that the position is filled. Well, they called her yesterday morning and told her she got the job!

She had so many obstacles in the way before she could finish up college. She had a baby, what a blessing, but she was afraid she couldn't keep up with college and raising the baby plus her 2 other children. With her husband, my mom and myself we helped out with that. Then she had that car accident that injured her. She is still in pain but managed to keep her perfect attendance and 4.0 grade average. After the car accident she felt it ruined her life. I told her to keep praying and that God will get her through all this and she will be better than before. She said God has blessed her big time! I tell her to be strong but I am not sure I would have held up through all this. I think she is stronger than me! She is smarter than me too! :lol:

Good morning, everyone!!

Lots of stuff to do today, so I'm only here for a short little bit. Thanks to everyone who wished me luck in the tournament. It's going to be a hot and tough one, but we'll be sure that we can do our best to come out on top! My hamstring is healing more each day, so I should be able to go tomorrow. Well, only about four hours before we start the seven-plus hour drive.

Thanks, Minta! Two hours? That is close. The weather looks like it will be very promising. 90F... Wow!!! I am going to need a lot of sunscreen!

Wow here we are at the end of another week and the last day of April. It is hard to believe that tomorrow is going to be may 1st. Since tomorrow is the first Saturday of may though that means it is time for the Kentucky Derby!!!!!!!! I am really not into horse racing that much but I like to place a few bets on the big races. My neighbor loves horse racing and goes to the local track at least once a week. So I have been hitting him up for info on the horses and I am going to go with him this evening down to the track to place our bets. I was out working all morning and now I think I will spend some time watching nascar coverage and I also need to get some paperwork in order to send to my boss. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Agreed, Christmas-A-Holic! That's quite an accomplishment your daugher has achieved. Especially with the several roadblocks that got in her way. You should be very proud! cheesy

I haven't been starving myself, just changing my eating habits. I have had poor eating habits for awhile now, and I am cutting out most sugar. Just getting adjusted right now.

Tell your daughter congratulations on her new job!
 
Not shaky today, just really craving sugar right now, temptation feels like it is surrounding me, I see candy, cupcakes, soda calling me. I held strong and did not give in had pretzels and an orange instead. I weighed myself when I got home tonight and I have lost a total of 5lbs so far. cheesy By cutting out regular soda I am saving 1000 calories a day, yeah I drank that much a day, add how much candy and other junk food I am now avoiding my caloric intake is a lot lower. I am now 11 days w/o regular soda, and I am amazed how much more energy I have. I don't feel like I am running into a wall by the evening.
Well my Friday was a good day, I hope all of you had a great day!
