Good Tuesday morning, my Christmas friends!

It's 53° and clear here this morning...I lOVE IT!

My phone at home rang at 6:15 this morning. I'm a councilman here in our small town, and I started getting complaints that the water wasn't working. So, I got in my truck and went to the well pump on my side of town. Sure enough, it wasn't working. I went to the other side of town and opened the valve that shares that well with both sides of town. Not as much pressure, but everyone gets some water. My phone was ringing the whole time...LOL! Anyway, the pump-guy is coming to fix it today. Ah, the rigors of small-town politics.

I hope you all have a great day! cheesy

Good Morning!!

Chilly again here in the Capital city where we stand at 52 jacket-walkable degrees under calm, sunny skies.
With a near zero percent chance of rain for the rest of the week, it will be a good time to get those outdoor activities done!

Let's take a look at the count as we come dangerously close to yet another Milestone:
Days to the Season: 39
Days to Christmas Day: 81
Yep! Day after tomorrow - the NINETY PERCENT HOME STRETCH MARK to the Season arrives.
Merciful Heavens!

Hey!
Let's everyone set a goal to carry their cameras and keep their eyes peeled this weekend for Christmas photos for the Blossoms thread.
I will be at Belks with camera in hand to snap photos of their newly-opened Christmas section.
And if Belks is up, you know Macys and Sears won't be far behind!
(Those 3 stores are the anchors of our Crabtree Valley Mall.)

Have a Terrific Tuesday, Everybody!

Folks like you are really needed in small communities. Great to see a problem and fix it without meetings. In Stecoah, we have no community wells. Everyone has either an individual well or gets their water from the mountain streams. Our well went dry during the drought of 2007 but neighbors helped and we survived until we had a new, deeper one dug.

Low of 38 here with an expected high of 60.

Good morning everyone.... now that the kids b-days have come and gone and the mad rush at work has slowed down a bit maybe I will have more time to come on here.. We started decorating the house side this past weekend. Got the corn stalks up and of course the squirrels have already been attacking them, still have to get the haybales and pumpkins in place and then decorate the deck. Will pull out the halloween lights this week to test and get them ready to be put up this weekend.

We picked up a couple more christmas gifts last week.

Well have a great day everyone.

Good Morning Everyone!

We got pumpkins and corn stalks in at work! I felt awful at work the other day but that did put a smile on my face to see Autumn arriving at work. People were buying up lots of bales of straw for decoration too.

Thanks to all for your get well wishes. I feel a whole lot better today. cheesy

Good Morning Everyone!!!!!!!! It is another chilly morning here in central Indy where we had a light frost last night!!!!!!!!!! Unfortuantely we are going to start warming back up the rest of the week until we hit the low 80's by this weekend. I don't really have anything planned for today. I will probably watch the funeral for the police officer that was killed on tv. I hope everyone has a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!

FYI: For those fall decorating. (I know I have mentioned it before on here)

We sell both hay and straw bales. We always suggest buying bales of straw over hay. It is more water resistant and least likely to mold like hay does. If you get a choice wherever you buy it, go for straw. Most people think the straw is prettier too. cheesy

Just mentioned this and see you are getting your fall decor out. cheesy It's crazy that we sell this at work and I have yet to buy it for my fall decorating! I get pumpkins but not the others.

Fox urine placed on some cotton balls runs off squirrels. We sell that at our job as well. I would hate to work for the company that bottles urine! Eeek!

Come to Dallas and run this town! You would never sleep. I feel for you, I use to help manage apartments and we had people at our door all hours of day and night with issues. I could imagine your position being a lot more hectic!

I now work for a laid back company. Less pay but SO MUCH MORE HAPPIER! That's all that counts!

Afternoon all :hi:

Saw my first Xmas add last night on TV for Kay's!!

A start of things to come!!

Woohoo!!

Cheers!!

So exciting!

Going to the lake today, no reason, just want to go.

Have a great day everyone!!!
Have fun - I bet it'll be beautiful this time of year!

How exciting! That would make me smile, too!

Hey Jude! I am listening to The Beatles right now and as soon as I started to read your post that song came on. Lol!

Good morning,

I wasn't able to come on yesterday, and it seemed like a missed a lot. Not much going on around here, it is raining yet again and chilly, but have held off on turning on the heat still. We did get our Halloween decorations up except for the outdoor stuff, LC is afraid of most of them, even though they are not really scary, just a singing Frankenstein, and a wise cracking skeleton. The boys chose their costumes, JP is going to be Dracula, LC a cowboy.
Have a great day!

I remember that drought. It was tough on everyone in your area.

I had no idea some folks get their water from the streams. I guess you have to hope your neighbor up-stream is being considerate!
