We started this journey over 300 days ago. Here we are....the night before special posts begin. What a ride it has been, friends, what a ride it has been.

To those of you who joined this year, you made this place even more fun that it was. For those of you that have been here since me, thank you.

I look foward to the best part of the ride with all of you. See everyone tomorrow when the first special post will appear.

I say we all go to the Pines and get some "special" eggnog from Carl right now!
What a nice post.. and I agree wholeheartedly!

cheesy One of the most exciting joys I hold dear as I prepare for the most wonderful time of the year is my visit to the mall when the children are returning from their visit with Santa on the train. They ride the train to the North Pole and return with Santa who will then be seen by the town the next day in our local parade. I missed it last year. I'm going to see them this year because that'll be the day I finish up the bulk of my shopping. I love the expression on their faces as they arrive to re-connect with awaiting family members with a look of "awe" and "wonder" in their eyes. The next day is the Parade and although I was asked to go on a float, I'd rather watch and take pictures. The following weekend (Thanksgiving Day in the US) is our old fashioned walk and I'm going to bring my mom out for that.

:tree: On Dec. 4th, I want to go to the Parade of Lights (50 min. drive from here). Don't know if my husband wants to go and my mom has passed on it a few times when I brought it up, but I can talk my dad into it and we both bring our cameras and enjoy it. Sometimes the weather makes it impossible to go. Freezing rain or blizzards on that stretch of highway can be quite hazardous and have ruled it out for us in previous years. I hear they're quite beautiful.
That sounds just lovely! I'd love to be a part of either one of those special rituals~!

Day 1 Special post counting
down to start of the season:

The countdowns getting closer every day!

Excitement is building.

Our Christmas Blossoms thread began again in September. And already is filling with some beautiful pictures.

In October the “3rd Annual Santa's Sleigh - Pick a Sleigh” thread was launched. (So far sleigh 7 is in the lead!)

The countdown thread has reached the amazing post number of 12,980 going way over the amount anyone would have imagined when this forum began way back when Jeff was still a youngster.

And have you seen what Santa is up to at the North Pole? NO?! Well take a trip to the “Christmas today” section of the forums and check it out!!!

Have you met the Christmas crew that keeps this place humming so nicely? Get over to the front office and meet them all. And by the way, thanks to all of you for a fantastic job!!!

Recipes, gift ideas, how to decorate, where to get the latest Christmas lights. Music, podcasts, videos and books. We have it all here at the touch of a button.

As we enter the start of the Christmas season for 2010, I can not think of a nicer place to hang out than here on My Merry Chrismas.com. Turn up the music on Merry Christmas radio and just enjoy!

Grab a mug of eggnog and a candy cane and join us on this special journey into the most magical time of the year.

Christmas is more than a date on the calendar; it is a place in our hearts and our homes.
It is a time to reflect on what is truly important to us. A chance to share our faith in the coming of a baby who would change this world forever.

Welcome to the start of the 2010 Christmas season, the greatest show on earth!!!

WooHoo!!

Have a good week all!!

Cheers!!

Good Morning Everyone!!!!! It is going to be another beautiful day here in central Indy. I plan on getting some more cleaning done today and I am also going to put out my christmas countdown sign. One of the apartments in the building across the road from me has their christmas lights out and on so I am feeling behind. I hope everyone has a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi everyone!

Thank you Christmasstar, I really enjoyed your special post!

I have been away from thursday till yesterday, working on a christmas fair! It was truly amazing! Even though I had to work all day all days, it was really great to bring a little Christmas joy to the people! Got really great responses on our cakes! :)
And I got Christmas mugs and a lot of silverbells... I'm going to give those to my boyfriend for his birthday! :)
I am really busy, so unable to catch up! Hope to be able to post some pics of the fair soon! Tomorrow is my boyfriends birthday, so I'm going to bake some cupcakes now :D

Good Morning all!

Thanks for the post Christmasstar!

I am so behind on here. I haven't been feeling too well and have had a sore throat for 5 days now. Any chance I get I am sleeping. I have been babysitting and did go to work yesterday. Wayne went onto church without me yesterday because I felt bad and needed to rest up for work.

Since I have been feeling bad I never got the tree up last week but Wayne set the tree up for me Saturday. He's so sweet! It's not decorated yet because I was waiting for my little helpers to arrive. The grandkids just came over so I hope we get it finished.

I hope to catch up on here soon!

Get crackin'!!! My husband won't let me put anything up yet.. he told me it's "too early" for Christmas music and then I reminded him I never STOP listening, so he quieted down, lol! :tree:

It's chilly and wiiiiiiindy today... I have a list of things I need to do (make pumpkin bread, caramelize onions, make chicken brother... figure out something for dinner!) so I shoudl really get to work! My husband broke yet ANOTHER cell phone (and not just a phone, one of those darn expensive ones!) so we had to buy another one yesterday- grrr. Now he has my phone for work. Even though I have my home phone, I feel a little out of sorts not having my cell phone! I don't even use it that much, though!

WOW, Only 46 days...

Trees and Outside lights going up the week after next... I need to finish my shopping (Better finish Thanksgiving before Christmas) LOL!

Nooooo! Say it ain't so, Bing. You're one of the stalwarts -- you HAVE to be here.
(But if you can't, I'll have a cup of coffee in your honor.)
<< Oh come on, Crown >>
Well, just a little humor to start the week, little voice.

I hope you feel better soon! There's not much worse than a sore throat.

Good Monday morning, my Christmas friends!

It's chilly again this morning, with a light frost on the shaded side of the roof. Brrr! It's supposed to warm up again after today, but still with highs in the mid-70's. I can live with that!

I hope you all have a great day! cheesy

Here's to a great Monday for everyone. It was a shiver inducing 35 degrees F here this morning, but after our breakfast of buttered grits, toast, and eggs OH and can't forget the coffee; we got off to a good start. I will be posting pictures as soon as I am fully finished with all my decorating. Did things different this year and I must say it is beginning to look alot like Christmas. At least in my house. I still have to put the outside lights up and I am thinking about doing that tomorrow when we get into the 70's!!!! Hard to believe it is 46 and half days until Christmas. This year has flown by and I have enjoyed almost all of it. Mr. HJ said to wish everyone " A very merry Early Christmas." He is finally getting into the spirit when he realized I was pulling everything out to start my annual decorating party of one. Have a great day everyone.
