What a nice post.. and I agree wholeheartedly! We started this journey over 300 days ago. Here we are....the night before special posts begin. What a ride it has been, friends, what a ride it has been.
To those of you who joined this year, you made this place even more fun that it was. For those of you that have been here since me, thank you.
I look foward to the best part of the ride with all of you. See everyone tomorrow when the first special post will appear.
I say we all go to the Pines and get some "special" eggnog from Carl right now!
That sounds just lovely! I'd love to be a part of either one of those special rituals~!cheesy One of the most exciting joys I hold dear as I prepare for the most wonderful time of the year is my visit to the mall when the children are returning from their visit with Santa on the train. They ride the train to the North Pole and return with Santa who will then be seen by the town the next day in our local parade. I missed it last year. I'm going to see them this year because that'll be the day I finish up the bulk of my shopping. I love the expression on their faces as they arrive to re-connect with awaiting family members with a look of "awe" and "wonder" in their eyes. The next day is the Parade and although I was asked to go on a float, I'd rather watch and take pictures. The following weekend (Thanksgiving Day in the US) is our old fashioned walk and I'm going to bring my mom out for that.
On Dec. 4th, I want to go to the Parade of Lights (50 min. drive from here). Don't know if my husband wants to go and my mom has passed on it a few times when I brought it up, but I can talk my dad into it and we both bring our cameras and enjoy it. Sometimes the weather makes it impossible to go. Freezing rain or blizzards on that stretch of highway can be quite hazardous and have ruled it out for us in previous years. I hear they're quite beautiful.
Woo hoo! Thank you for this post, Christmasstar! I can't believe we've arrived!Day 1 Special post counting
down to start of the season:
The countdowns getting closer every day!
Excitement is building.
Our Christmas Blossoms thread began again in September. And already is filling with some beautiful pictures.
In October the “3rd Annual Santa's Sleigh - Pick a Sleigh” thread was launched. (So far sleigh 7 is in the lead!)
The countdown thread has reached the amazing post number of 12,980 going way over the amount anyone would have imagined when this forum began way back when Jeff was still a youngster.
And have you seen what Santa is up to at the North Pole? NO?! Well take a trip to the “Christmas today” section of the forums and check it out!!!
Have you met the Christmas crew that keeps this place humming so nicely? Get over to the front office and meet them all. And by the way, thanks to all of you for a fantastic job!!!
Recipes, gift ideas, how to decorate, where to get the latest Christmas lights. Music, podcasts, videos and books. We have it all here at the touch of a button.
As we enter the start of the Christmas season for 2010, I can not think of a nicer place to hang out than here on My Merry Chrismas.com. Turn up the music on Merry Christmas radio and just enjoy!
Grab a mug of eggnog and a candy cane and join us on this special journey into the most magical time of the year.
Christmas is more than a date on the calendar; it is a place in our hearts and our homes.
It is a time to reflect on what is truly important to us. A chance to share our faith in the coming of a baby who would change this world forever.
Welcome to the start of the 2010 Christmas season, the greatest show on earth!!!
