Continuity,,,,
That's what the defenders of the season believe in: continuity. All year long, we celebrate here and hang on to that which brings us joy- a commonality of purpose. The rest of the world catches up in late November.. but here, we celebrate with each other every day of the year. As the world continues to move faster, we hold on to traditions passed down for generations. As people move further and further from that which is right and good, we celebrate the time of the year when all appears just perfect. There are so few things that we can hold on to that never seem to change. Loved ones leave us, kids grow and leave home, we almost want to stop ourselves and forget that it is the season.. that which continues to bring us joy and laughter each year, that is the reason why we seek out each other.. almost anyonymously.. and year in.. year out, we share the magic that is Christmas and we....... continue.

and so it has come to this... 4 days until the season.
Thanks Binger for the second post in our countdown to the start of this years season!cheesy

Good Morning MMC !

check for anything leaking under truck, open hood, check air intake, turbo and exhaust....wait, I have repeated this so often I am saying it all the time now!!!

This will be my life now so I should get used to it. Was told yesterday that the log book will now be my daily companion (I think it will be cheaper to keep than 3 kids!)

hope you all have a fantastic day!!!cheesycheesycheesy

Morning friends! Hope this finds you doing well. It's about time for me to head out, but I'm going to take it slow and enjoy the morning. Take my time, go to wal-mart, heck, I might even go to Hobby Lobby. Who knows?

One thing is for sure....I'm going to stop by Starbucks and have a Pumpkin Spice Latte and the way up there and on the way home!

Good afternoon!!

Its freezing in Wales today. Temps down to 7c...brrrr. Looking forward to the weekend...Christmas Shopping!!!! Cant wait:)

Good Morning Everyone!!!!! It looks like it is going to be another beautiful day here in central Indy. They are predicting a high in the low 70's for the next 3 days. I still have not adjusted to the time change. I keep waking up at 6am instead of 7 and then I start falling asleep on the couch at 10pm. I managed to stay up later last night but I was still up at 6am this morning. My plan for today involves doing some shopping for my sister and then it will be back home to make up some pumpkin rolls to freeze. I hope everyone has a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!

on the radio today they said that Germany is expecting a terribly cold winter........with snow til march......yeeeeeeeeeeeehaaaa

Well said, Binger. I never really thought about it like that... While it is incredible to experience the joy and laughter with my family throughout the Season, it is also special to celebrate the joy and laughter with everyone here on MMC throughout the entire year. Thanks for being a part of my year, everyone!

Good Morning, Special Friends!

Speaking of "Special", our dear friend Bing has posted an excellent Day-4-Before-The-Season message. Be sure to check it out.
(See what coffee can do in the hands of someone who knows how to use it?)
<< There! That didn't hurt too much did it, Crown? >>
Well........

What's just ahead?
The remaining special post schedule:
November 10 (Day 3 before the Season) = Maureen = Wednesday
November 11 (Day 2 before the Season) = Auntie = Thursday
November 12 (Day 1 before the Season) = Seawaters = Friday
November 13: CHRISTMAS SEASON 2010 ARRIVES!

.....And onward, inexorably onward, the count moves:
Days to the Season: 4 (Scarcely over HALF a week now!! Can't believe it!)
Days to Christmas Day: 46 (A month and a half from tomorrow!)
Days to Thanksgiving Day: 16 (Two weeks from the day after tomorrow!)

Not quite so cold this morning where we stand currently at 43 degrees under calm and beautifully sunny skies.
We are predicted to reach 70 today without a rain cloud in sight.

Have a Terrific Tuesday, Folks!
And hey! Aren't you really starting to feel it now??
(The Christmas Magic, that is!)

We only had ONE trick or treater! Sometimes we get only a few, and sometimes we run out. Ya never know!

...We only got TWO trick or treaters last night! We have a massive amount of candy left.. and Jude couldn't be more excited and hyper, ha! My little firefighter had such a great time trick or treating!!

Wow, that sounds like some party!!! I love to attend and host parties. It's great that your brother lives close enough to help.

...Every year I tell my wife, "nobody is going to show up" and this year we must have had 150 people through our house. It was insane. Did the cleaning up thing yesterday.

Right now I am waiting for my big brother to come over. It's that Christmas light hanging time!!! I won't turn them on until other people in the neighbourhood do most likely but we are going to try to get them all up today. I love it! I am so exhausted, but I will rest when this is done.

Congratulations! I am getting close to 2,000, which I have set as a personal goal.

3,001 posts!!!My 3,000 post was on the ABC 25 Days of Christmas. That is pretty fitting, seeing as how I spend four months out of the year looking for that schedule. The year before I found this site, I actually looked for it for 6 months.

I love the 25 Days of Christmas. Looks like a pretty good schedule.

I hear you. We have a principal who doesn't support the teachers, especially with discipline problems. It is very disheartening. I do feel your pain.

...I had a rough evening at work tonight, I got very annoyed and frustrated and swore at one of my managers, I was just done at that moment, I am sick of being pulled in 16 directions do this do that and never let me finish the first project before starting the next one. I was lucky she understood I was frustrated and nothing became of it, but I went to my dinner break and went to Lowes to relax and look at the Christmas stuff, and that worked, it relaxed me playing with the interactive toys and I have tomorrow off. I will start my decorating tomorrow.

Have a good night everyone

in all the excitement of school, special posts etc, I for got that Monday, November 8th was my 3 year anniversary here!
:dance::???::dance:
Congrats! Sunday, November 7th was two years for me!

I do wish you luck. I have lots to do too, so I know how you feel. Having a clean home with candles burning and relaxing with mulled wine is a blissful picture. Now all I need is the energy. With a broken rib, it is difficult to do a lot without pain. Oh, well.

afternoon all,

been having a stressful time lately getting the house re-wired and re-decorated. it's all done now, but it's left in a huge mess! i'v taken the day off college and i'm getting it all organised and ready for christmas. the build up has well and truly started for me and i want a nice, clean home, so that i can light my christmas candles and relax of an evening with a mulled wine without having boxes piled up around me.

wish me luck.... it's going to take a while :-?
