One more gift and I will be done christmas shopping!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My husband and I are probably the only ones who get out on Black Friday and not shop. We NEVER get up in the middle of the night to stand in lines for anything. Not worth it to me, I need sleep! cheesy

We get started about 9:30 am, head to the mall and walk around to watch the music entertainment and ice skating show they do each year. It is never really that crowded either. People do crowd around to see the show but that's about it. Santa ice skates as well and it's great! This will be our 4th year to go. We might hit 2 malls this year because they plan to have some entertainment there too!

:)) That sounds like fun. I remember going to a warehouse sale for ROOTS waayyyyyyyy back and an old woman nearly knocked me to the ground to get the hooded sweatshirt I was reaching for. She was strong, I tell ya - scared the beegees outta me let's just say I didn't feel like "dancin' yeah"! cheesy

Friday is out downtown walk, I sure hope the weather is nice. Last year it was damp and the wind from the lake made it chilly. I'll get pics if it's not too windy.

Raining here this morning.
I have two unexpected days off school and hoping to get lots of studying in. Things are going well, so much to learn in such a short time makes it a bit overwhelming at times.

Have a fantastic day everyone!!

That's not Monday - that's every day with O'Malley the cat. Garfield can't compete with my boy! cheesy

 Hope you feel better soon Kerstig.

:snowball: Seawaters you did an awesome job ranking up the post counts all on your own!

I better not be getting that bug that's going around - I don't get bugs - I'm invinsible - I'm 96% Super ELF Hero. My neck has been stiff all day and my joints are aching. Uggh. Hope it's just the misty foggy weather. If the Tin Man let me borrow his oil can for a moment, I think I'd be good to go!

Keep a merry thought in your head! :hello:

One more gift and I will be done christmas shopping!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good for you. That takes the pressure off now you can sit back and enjoy!

:tree: I know what I'm getting everyone except the three youngest grandkids. I'll get to it the weekend after next. Trying to get some hints from their parents.

Jeff's week with his family is making me a bit teary eyed. I am really missing my grandma right now! I always miss her but it's worse this time of year. Jeff is having a week with his family just like I use to have with my grandma.

When I was little I use to spend the night with her all the time. When I became a teen I found going to grandma's to be a bit "nerdy" so I didn't spend the night there anymore.

After I had children and by the time my son turned 6 and my daughter 10 years old I had called my grandma up before Thanksgiving and asked could we all come spend the week of Thanksgiving with her and have it at her house. She only lived about 15 minutes away from me but I felt the need to spend the night at my grandma's again!

We spent that week preparing for Thanksgiving, watching Christmas movies, chatting and having a great time. On Thanksgiving everyone came over and we had the best time ever! This became a tradition to go to grandma's every year for Thanksgiving and spend the week.

October 2003 she had a major heart attack and had to have open heart surgery the next day. I stayed with her the night before and the next morning right before surgery she said, "you all need to come stay with me for Thanksgiving this year". I said, "of course, it's our tradition"! She died a few weeks later.

I miss those times so much!

Jeff, I hope you all have a wonderful week. Cherish every minute of it!

Goodnight Everyone!!!!!

Good evening all,

Busy night only to get busier the next 2 days, I am looking forward to Thanksgiving now, I love the way that day feels, starting with the parade and right through the meal. I will be avoiding football though I am so done with the sport after the way the Bungles have fooled me again.
I hope everyone had a great Monday.
Have a good night!

We celebrate Thanksgiving at my Mom's house, but getting ready for it is a group effort. My Mom's oven is too small for our annual birdzilla, so I get to bake it (I live next door). It's already brining in my refrigerator. Tonight is the silver-polishing party over at Mom's, and then tomorrow is the "stuff-we-forgot-to-buy" shop-a-thon. Wednesday is my personal favorite; Stuffing Day. I go over to Mom's and we chop cabbage and onions and make bread cubes. It smells so good when we're done!
this sounds great! :) sounds like a great way to get ready together! wish i lived next to my mum!

Today is the day we go shopping for Thanksgiving. We take all the kids -- 7 of them -- to one store and get all the trimmings before hiding away for the next couple of days in the house (not to come out again until Black Friday).

Thanksgiving is a three-day long event of movie watching, decorating, game playing and baking in our house.
this sounds like a really fun time :) hope you guys have a great time!

Afternoon all! We had a failed attempt to visit Santa on the weekend. Saturday we went to Cherryhill mall for the free picture with Santa (Whooops almost wrote Santana hah). Well we got there at 10:50am. At 12:00pm we were 3rd from the front of the line! Nooooo!!!!! An Elf comes out and says Santa needs a 30 minute break to feed his deers. William wasn't going to last. Had to leave. We will try again another weekend. But had a great weekend and saw the new Harry Potter movie - stays true to the book! Have a MERRY CHRISTMAS day!
aww that's a shame! well i was in line for the new HP film when it solled out right before my nose! so i'm still longing to see that!

I dropped the party friends and never failed another class!
yeah but you failed it because of partying, and i did not party or have other things on my mind... i just failed because i didn't make it... (which is the reason i feel so dumb :P ) will go and have a look at it today... hope it turns out they overlooked one of my sheets *sigh*

maybe i am just not ambitious enough for university...

today i'm still quite ill and have a really busy day...

One more gift and I will be done christmas shopping!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good Morning Everyone!!!!! We had some strong storms move through overnight but now it is supposed to clear off and be a beautiful with a high of 45. It is going to be a busy couple of day around here. I have to babysit my nieces today and while I am doing that I also need to try and cut up my celery and onions and get my eggs boiled for the macaroni salad. Then I want to make my homemade pumpkin pies. I also have to babysit my nieces again tomorrow. I hope everyone has a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good morning everyone... last night went and got most of the groceries for our Thanksgiving breakfest/dinner. Just have couple more things to get from another store but I will not do that until tomorrow morning. Got a lot to do in the couple of days.... I think tomorrow I will introuduce my daughter to the art of making homemade pumkin pies. She has a 1/2 day from school tomorrow so that means we can spend the afternoon making pies and of course listening to Christmas Music.

Well off to get more coffee... Have a great day!!!!

Good Morning,

Just sitting here enjoying a bowl of Cap'n Crunch's Christmas Crunch listening to Christmas music on the radio before I do my errands and go to work.

******* CHRISTMAS SEASON DAY #11 *******

Good Morning, Everyone!

Warmer here of late. We hit 73 for the high yesterday and are at a warmer than usual start for the day this morning at 58 degrees.
No rain predicted until Black Friday.

The rolling count:
Days to Thanksgiving Day: 2 (Day after tomorrow, Friends!)
Days to Christmas Day: 32 (One month from the day after tomorrow!)

OK, Folks. Do not fail to visit the Shispering Pines tomorrow for Carl's Thanksgiving Eve extravaganza. It's the highlight of the pre-Christmas season!

Have a Terrific Tuesday, Everybody!

My sister-in-law is bringing pumpkin pie and apple-cranberry pie (Costco). You can't beat their prices, plus they are 10-inch pies! I am going to make a coffee-toffee pecan pie and a Jamaican-spiced pumpkin pie. We are also going to have Italian green beans, mashed potatoes, maple-glazed carrots, turkey-sage gravy, maple-brined turkey, Italian stuffing (ripieno di salsicce), sweet potatoes, homemade rolls, and two kinds of homemade cranberry sauce.

The weather guy said the temps would not go down until this afternoon, but since my first post today at 7:45 am it has already gone down to 8c.

6 degrees in less than 2 hours! Strong wind blowing too.

That furnace guy/gal better get here today or I am going to be making a lot of noise!!!

Welcome to Tuesday all! Get this. My monitor was sent in for repair due to a power button breaking on it. The repair facility is deeming it customer damage. I did NOT damage my monitor. I'm fighting them on this one. Its a 4 year old monitor and before they said "customer damage' they said its end of life and they cant get the parts. If that happens they have to replace it with a new monitor. I just think they don't want to shell out the new monitor! Its a viewsonic and I love it. Other then that I'm having a great day. Work isn't going by fast enough (never does!) haha. More houses with Christmas lights on too! I'm hoping to get enough money this Christmas to get myself an iPod touch! It has a camera so Ill be able to take more discrete pictures for Christmas Blossoms thread! This weekend we are going to Windsor to help my Grandmother put up her tree and I'm going to put her lights on her house. Have a holly jolly Tuesday!
