Thankful

Good evening, Chistmas family !

I want to wish you all a very healthful and tasty and safe Thanksgiving. I am so thankful to have you all as Christmas friends. You have all been such a blessing to me !

I finally did something about all my dissatisfaction with my employer and took a test this evening for another company. Cross your fingers and pray that I pass ! Even though I have been a transcriptionist for 17 years, tests are a different matter. I have always, always tested badly. If I pass, and if they want me and if they pay enough, I will be bidding goodbye to my present employer.

I hope everyone has a very, very blessed Thanksgiving !! And thank you again for being my Christmas family cheesy

Frank Sinatra is singing Silent Night....and the only lights on in the room....is the Christmas Tree....

My wife is in the kitchen cooking desert....we went for a visit at my parents...and even though we do almost everyday throughout the year...tonight was different...

The time of year that we long for 320 days is here....makes me misty eyed just thinking about it.

Mom wants to drink coffee at 6:00 in the morning and get watch some of the parade....Dad wants me to go hunting with him this weekend....

I have a friend whose mother was taken off of life support today....the hours in her life are few.....Thanksgiving is tomorrow.....

Look at all I have to be thankful for.....makes me wish I recognized it more than just a few nights a year.....I have said before that I feel I have been unfairly blessed in my life...and by reading about all the blessings just listed above I know I am....

Plus I have you....

Happy Thanksgiving, friends. Bless you.

Happy Thanksgiving to you and your wonderful family, Ballcoach. Your posting is just beautiful. Thank you for saying everything I am feeling about my own life. God bless xo

It's -7 here at my house tonight. That's got to be some kind of record because I can't remember it ever getting this cold in this house since we moved here. Up in the mountains it has to be -30 or worse.

I had the craziest exchange with a lady at the store the other day. Sandy likes to make her pumpkin pies with real pumpkin. So I walked up to the checkstand with 4 sugar pumpkins and the cashier immediately made a crack, "Aren't you celebrating the wrong holiday?"

"What do you mean?" I said.

"Aren't pumpkins usually for Halloween?" she asked.

"Yes," I said. "And they are very popular for Thanksgiving, too."

"Really?" she asked. "What for?"

I blinked, wondering if she was serious. She was.

"Pies," I said. "Pumpkin pies."

She looked at me like I had three heads. "No way!" she said. "I didn't know you could make pies from real pumpkins! That's too cool."

And you know what gets me?

This genius has a job and I don't. Go figger.

They have them all over Jeff. I wont even say what I was thinking as I read that. Honestly how is it they do not know where their food comes from. Bet if most people would research it all they might not like what they find out. :treeguy:

Sorry to hear about the woman s story. Reaing it almost made me cry too. You are right, we should always be thankfull for what we have and mostly be happy and thankfull that we are healthy.

I hope U gon have a nice and beautiful and funfilled weekend with Your luved ones

hi all!

lovely weekend ahead, the christmas tree in our local village is being lit up by santa so we'll be heading up to see that, and i'm also taking my daughter to get her pictures taken in a christmas setting for the front of my family christmas cards.

on a very sad note, a lady that my sister knows very well passed away today, she was only 35 and had 2 daughters (6 and 3 years old) she had that horrible, evil disease (cancer) and by all accounts was a wonderful woman and a fantastic mother. apparantly her babies don't know yet and her grandmother and grandfather are going to sit them down and explain as best as they can tomorrow.

i'm crying as i write this, it's just so cruel, so close to christmas. i know i'm going to thank my lucky stars tonight that i'm here and healthy and that my beautiful daughter has a mummy to spend this christmas with.

no matter how stressful things get, financially or whatever in the run up to christmas, let's all count our blessings and enjoy every second with our families and make this christmas the most amazing one yet. x

it's snowing here..the first Snow this Winter..

same here, even tho it will turn into snow-rain later on...but at least we had the first snowflakes here.....and tonight it is forecasted to have more snow

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!!!!!!

It is going to be a stormy one in central Indy. I am hoping that it will stop for a few hours this afternoon so I can deep fry the turkeys outside and not in my sisters garage. My brother in law has to work this morning so we are not eating until 4pm today. My sister still wants us at her house early this morning so we can help cook the last few dishes that we didn't help her get ready yesterday. She also wants to go shopping. She keeps complaining about the stores being open today and how they don't want people to spend time with their families anymore but she is contributing to the problem by going to them. I keep telling her that if everyone would just stay home and no go shopping today none of the stores would be open. I will go shopping tonight and tomorrow but I refuse to go anytime during the day today. Well I am off to read the paper and enjoy a cup of hot coffee before I head out to my sisters house. I hope everyone has a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My plan for today

Oh, no... how heartbreaking. You are right - it's so important to remember how blessed we are year-round. Thinking of your friend.

What a funny encounter - but sad that someone as wonderful as you can't get a job. I'm sorry!

LOL - that cracks me up that your sister wants to go shopping! If you go, have fun! The news said the stores are pretty dead!

Happy Thanksgiving, my dear friends. What are you thankful for today? I am so thankful for my loving husband, my 2 sweet, beautiful boys, my extended family, our health, a roof over our heads.... the list goes on. God bless you all!

******* CHRISTMAS SEASON DAY #13 *******

GOOD MORNING and
thanksgivingturkey.png

to one and all!!

Yes, Turkey Day is here!
Enjoy yourself, but eat responsibly. Remember, the waist you save may be your own.

Days to Christmas Day: 30 (Only one month from today, now!)

A chilly start to the day but we should warm up into at least the low 60's by this afternoon.
Rain is predicted to move in here tomorrow making for a wet Black Friday.
(Would that make it Muddy Friday??)

Regardless, you have a Thrilling Thanksgiving Thursday, Friends!
(Now I'm off to watch the Macys parade and start preparations for our Thanksgiving dinner!)
