evening all!

haven't been on for a few days as i've been to london for a christmas shopping trip, it was wonderful and i still can't believe that it's the season!

been so busy lately, lots of college work and getting the house decorated and seeing to my baby daughter as she is learning to walk, been getting a bit stressed and i'm stopping it right now, i want to enjoy every single second of the season. i'm making more time for all the christmas movies i want to watch and just relaxing that bit more in the build up.
 
I am getting sooooo excited...Watching Elf right now. Been watching the Hallmark channel and Fa La La La Lifetime alot....25 Days of Christmas is not Christmassy!!! HARRY POTTER marathon all weekend...HOW IS THAT CHRISTMAS???? I think that everyone should watch The Christmas Shoes....Very touching, and reminds you what is really Important in life, and at Christmas!!!!!!
 
I am one of the teachers who would not care if there were a camera in my class. I would get parent permission in a heartbeat and begin recording every day. THAT would sure open some eyes!!!

As for my earlier post, they will not put cameras in the classrooms here because they feel it is an invasion of "privacy" and surprisingly it is the teachers that speak out on it the most. They just do not want them in their classrooms. But I do know for a fact that there are several schools in our county that DO have cameras in the classrooms. I am always on guard in the classes I sub for because there are students who absolutely LOVE to try the sub to see how long it will take before the sub walks out. The first job I got, I found out that the SEVENTH graders had a bet going to see how long I would last. They got a rather big surprise when I came back in for them the following week. LOL!!! So far third grade has been the most challenging in the fact that they are right there at that age where mouthing off and trying to challenge everything is like a drug, they keep doing it to see how far they can push it before someone says, "enough."
With the Christmas holiday coming up, I know I am gunna have some stinkers trying me and I am going to be like I always am- firm yet gentle in how I dole out discipline. I am givening full run and I follow the normal teacher's rules and add a few of my own. I always carry a discipline chart with actions and consequences clearly wrote out. This is the FIRST thing I hang up after I put my name on the board. Most of them will read it and think it is a joke until I show them otherwise.

But anyhoo- the temperature is dropping AGAIN and we found out there is a watermain break not far from our house. I am going to be surprised to find we have water in the morning.

Do they even show the Little Drummer Boy anymore?

hope things change for the better in Greece!! I was in Athens two springs ago, I thought it was a wonderful place! Hope it will be all better soon!

good morning christmas friends. i hope everyone is doing good.....all the snow is gone...it is a little warmer today.....around 33 degrees....and it was raining....but more snow is forecasted for this week....and we got a fifty fifty chance for a white christmas....usually the chance for it is lower than 20

today we are hopefully getting the complete financial analyses of the house we want to buy, so that we can decide wether we want to buy it! so an other exciting day :)

i jus heard on the news that SW Ontario (London and area) has had more snow in the last 3 days than all of last winter!~ Would you like some?

Good Morning MMC !

:playing:Here we go again!
Up early checking out weather and road conditions. For the third day in a row I will be having a snow day from school. If I was a kid this would be great! But now, well, I have some serious learning to do and want to get busy with it, so not liking this anymore.
Mayor of London encourages business to give employees the day off and all schools are closed again. London has had more snow in the past three days than all of last winter the news is reporting. Even city transit is not running!!
