Well, I just worked my last Friday of 2010, 5 more workdays until my vacation.

off to school again this morning, trying to catch up from all those snow days we have had the last couple of weeks!
After that we are having our family Christmas party!!!!!!!!!

I've been listening to a radio station in Ireland that plays Christmas music (www.christmasfm.ie). Considering I live in the US, I find it amusing that I'm listening to the same Christmas music as other people celebrating Christmas half a world away.

yes I like that a lot too... I find myself listening to Christmas music and I like enjoying the same music as all of you, even though I live in a country that differs from yours in almost every way...

Good Morning Everyone!!!!! We are getting some snow showers here this morning. It looks like it is going to be just enough to cover the sidewalks again. My cold seems to have gotten worse after spending most of the day outside yesterday shoveling snow. So today my plan is to stay inside and try to make sure I take the cold medicine on time. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Guess what? I saw what I thought was an elf yesterday peeking at me from behind A Kmart shelf, I swear he was writing in a notebook. I had a feeling I was being watched and I turn around and BANG there he is. I was shocked. I told him I have been relatively good this year and I hoped he wasn't writing me up for anything. Turns out it was a person doing observations on things bought and who they are bought by. I felt so stupid. He got a kick out of it and told me it was all in good humor but he said he was sorry he wasn't an elf.

what a shame it wasn't an elf he sure must have felt you complimented him who wouldn't want to be an elf...

I did absolutely nothing today which is a rarity for me. I was off work so I just have been a "couch potato" all day, listening to Christmas music and watching Christmas stuff !!

Back to work Sunday and then Christmas Eve at the end of the week next week !! Where did the time go ? Have a great weekend everyone !

Hii all!
We are having a great day! Studying while my boyfriend is home and brings me coffee is just way better than being all alone! Yesterday he came home from his work carrying his 'Christmas Package', here it is custom for bosses to make a package for Christmas and hand it out to their employees. it differs a lot, most bosses give away food packages, others gadgets, and others a giftcertificate. He got a 'fair-trade' package, with all kinds of fair trade goods! We are real glad with it (especially the chocolate ). Is there something like this where you live as well??

Hello all! I am struggling to follow the countdown. Wayne and I both been on vacation and having Christmasy fun all week long. We have not spent much time at home which means I have not been on my computer much.

I don't get it but we are on vacation to rest but I am so exhausted! I now need a vacation to recover from our vacation. cheesy The house has been slightly neglected this week so I am going to attempt to get some chores done today and get ready for Christmas Day!

what a week! my 14 month old baby girl has chicken pox and can't leave the house until they've cleared up :-? that's put some of my christmas plans on hold, but hey, the best thing about christmas is that it always comes back, so i will definitely do what i've missed this year in christmas 2011!

i'm also snowed in, i can't get out as i live on a hill, it's really bad. lots of sleet and ice and some thick blankets of snow. my aunt is taking care of my daughter tomorrow whilst i go to the church nativity and do my last bit of christmas shopping, then attend my cousin's 40th birthday meal. please say a little prayer that i get to leave the house safely tomorrow!

It is actually above freezing as I type this, where we stand at just under 34 with cloudy skies and the chance of afternoon rain.
Even possible additional snow!

Good 7 days until Christmas, my Christmas friends! I woke up during to lots of wind and rain. Its still windy here, but barely any rain. It is supposed to rain for the next week! My husband and I went down to the Elks Lodge last night to deliver a birthday gift to the bartender. She is Irish and lots of fun. We purchased a huge chart that is entitled The Periodic Table of Mixology and shows lots of drinks and their recipes. It looks just like a periodic table, and she totally loved it. Most of my day will be spent indoors because of the weather. I need to work on my scrapbooking. I hope everyone has a great, fun-filled day.

Snow in Charlotte and it's laying on the ground. Just a dusting but still a nice little surprise a week before Christmas. Busy Busy Busy, Today is all about cooking and cleaning and cleaning and cooking.

) The fridge and freezer are packed with goodies. We could have two weeks of snow days and make it through just fine.

O'Malley the cat developed a dislike for his standard dry cat food so we picked up a new one for him to try and he loved it. We pretended it was a treat by only giving him a small handful to try.

Last night, I sat with him on the sofa giving him a rub while I watched bits and pieces of Home Alone and Home Alone 2 (playing at the same time on different channels).

Think I'll watch Christmas Vacation tonight if O'Malley is into it. My husband doesn't watch any of the merry programming going on, but he is good about telling me whenever he sees the TV listings of what's coming up.

I've been running doing chores on my "honey-do" list, and stopped for a moment to post. Even when it's raining she won't give me a break!

Good Afternoon, Christmas family !!


It has been a nice Christmassy day again today. Cold again but not too cold. They are predicting snow for Christmas Eve here hooray !! But I hope not too much.....I wouldn't get to see my sister if there is too much and that would ruin everything. Today my husband and I had some things to take care of which cost a bit of money but we got them done. I am not for charging anything these days but sometimes you just HAVE TO !!! Hopefully will get that paid off or at least down soon. Tomorrow starts my work week. UGH. But I am thankful for my job, even though they can be "butt brains" sometimes !! cheesy


Tonight we are going to watch a new Hallmark movie called "The Battle of the Bulbs" or something like that. It looks like it is about 2 neighbors who have a feud about who can create the best Christmas display (sounds like Deck the Halls, doesnt it ?) but maybe there is more to it than that. Daniel Stearn is one of the stars and I LOVED him in the Home Alone movies so perhaps it will be fun !!

My Punkin's ashes are at the vet's office and I want to bring "her" home before Christmas. I know it is not her anymore but I would be more peaceful knowing that what used to be her is here with me.

I have to admit that we stopped at PetSmart to get the furkids their presents today and there was a rescue group which had a few puppies. I held a little guy who was so adorable, Dachschund/Min pin mix just like my Wishbone !! I would have adopted him in a heartbeat but it is not the time for that just yet and anyway, puppies are sure to get homes. It is the older furchildren nobody wants who REALLY NEED help. So perhaps when the time is right, I could have one of them for a furbaby.

Also we ordered the power steering pump for my car so hopefully it will be back in comission soon. Dang thing sure wasn't cheap !! But hey, the car IS 17 years old so I cannot complain !!

I hope all who do not feel well are healed by Christmas !

BUSY BUSY BUSY. Today has been busy. Went grocery shopping, returned something to KMART (omgee what a madhouse over there, only TWO cahsiers were open and the lines were all the way back to the clothes), then bookstore to pickup a gift for Mr. HJ (again a madhouse), then the post office (not so bad). And today of all days I get into a funk missing my dad. I love this time of year but there are times when I do sit back and say, "What am I doing this for?" I do get out of that quickly however because I am back up and running before I get to think that a second time. We came home and after putting everything away, we went up and took a nap. It is raining and COLD here, I think it is gunna freeze tonight. We are going to our church's cantata (sp?) tomorrow and Mr. HJ is one of the choir members in it. Should be nice. I am going to be baking tomorrow and I discovered WHOOPS I forgot the stuff for brownies so now I have to go get it but will probably do that after church tomorrow.
