Good Morning MMC !

It's snowing again here!

Getting back on track with my fitness/ weight loss routine. Joined the 28 day challenge on spark people. Tomorrow I am back at school.

Delivered another cake this morning and just realized I forgot to take a picture of it.

Hope you all have a fantastic day!!!

I wish you could pass some of it along to me , its been sometime that i felt the spirit after the season was over. Any tips would be greatly appreciated !!
The CHhristmas Holiday season was very stressful and was overshadowed by an ailment that my dog was suffering from. She is ten and all of the sudden woke up and was screeching and yelping in pain. I toook her to the vet and she said that she thought it was a stroke or a brain tumor. My husband and I were to have a party the following day. We had to cancel it and did nothing but look at the dog for four days and she did not improve.
Trusting my gut instinct I took her to another vet and he gave her a shot of a steriod and said she threw something out in her neck and she was better in 24 hours with a minor setback the day afhter Cthristmas . The setback caused her to yelp out in pain and agin had me upset. Three days after that ,my sister had to put our " family "dog to sleep. SHe was 16. These happenings along with a bad case of the stomach flu in mid December caused me not to "feel it" this year. As a sidenoote , my dog is fully recovered as far as I can see. Her turnaround came on the day we had to put the other dog" Louie" asleep. I like to think that Louie sent down some healing energies . :snowball:
I am sorry to hear about what sounds like a very stressfull few weeks! I hope your dogs health continues to be strong!

I'm sorry for the loss of you family dog, and I am glad your dog has recovered...
I think it is quite natural that when such events that make you feel sad happen during the season it overshadows your spirit, and the fact you feel you missed out on the season causes these blues... When I suffered a loss of a family member last year during the Christmas season, our Christmas was extra meaningful because it brought my family together, because we found support and love in each other... I think this love is what causes Holiday Spirit... try to look for it in every day life, and hopefully it can lift your blues... I wish you a lot of Christmas light!

I am so sorry for all you been through. I know that all must have been really hard. I am glad your dog is fully recovered.

The only tips I have for staying in the spirit is to come on here everyday, continue to listen to Christmas music and watch Christmas shows if you're in the mood. I joined these forums 6 months before Christmas 2009 and it was the first year I didn't have the blues that bad but they were still there. This year got better. One thing that doesn't make it seem that far away is Christmas in July!

I almost forgot to mention that looking forward to growing a veggie garden has actually made me look forward to spring!

I know others on here have tips on keeping it alive. Like I said though, just because I feel great, I still feel really bad for others being down. Having the blues is a real emotion that you cannot just "snap out of".

I hope you feel better soon!

As I have suggested in other posts before a Christmas Notebook might do the trick for you. My Christmas notebook helps me prepare all year long with keeping a running list of gift ideas that I can easily check off when a gift has been purchased/made. I also write down tips that might help me like start wrapping way earlier then Nov. We as a family go over what we liked/disliked about this past Christmas and stuff we want to do again and ideas of what we want to try. As I try a new recipe that I think will be perfect for the holidays into my notebook it goes. I also keep a sectionon there for Thanksgiving, Halloween and Easter too. I also try to set aside a couple days a month to work on my notebook, go over recipes, etc.

I'm going to try the Christmas notebook myself this year. Just because I need help organizing.

I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas and a very Happy New year.

Good afternoon, Christmas Family.

Not much going on here. We had a power outage today during my work time so that was a little frustrating but no matter, the lights came back on in about an hour. Went to the grocery store and I am now sitting with my feet up with my 14-year-old Wishbone sleeping peacefully beside me. I stil turn on my tree at night. I am keeping it up a while yet. Probably a LONG while.

I hope everyone is having a good Monday !!

Don't forget to keep those sugarplums dancing with Christmassy thoughts in your heads !!!!!
