Now to get something for my grandmother, & that's the hard one. I got a Christmas gift for her for 2011 after Christmas 2010, but I'm stumped on a birthday gift. She'll be 87 & doesn't have room or need for "stuff", so I'm trying to think of something practical. In the past I've given her Wal-Mart gift certificates so she can buy her groceries with it. She eats like a bird, so taking her out to eat is hard too. Any ideas?

Have a good day & think Christmassy thoughts!

How about a gift certificate to her hair salon? Does she have a favorite magazine or does she read the local news paper? If so maybe you could pay for a subscription. Does she have a sweet tooth? If so and if you have a local bakery, maybe you could arrange for her to get something once a month or once a week for the next month.

I caught a few of the ads during the Superbowl, even though I don't really care about football.

Some cool looking movies coming this summer!
Super 8
Transformers 3
Cowboys and Aliens (sounds crazy, but Steven Spielberg is doing it)
Thor
Captain America

Nice!cheesy

Yup we want to see almost all of those. Hubby is chomping at the bit to see Transformers 3.

In years gone by, it was the SONG and what it meant that was important.
Now, it's the singer.

Instead of "Listen to what I'm singing", it's "The song doesn't mater - look at me and what I can do with my voice!!"

I think you've put your finger on it, Crown. Sing the song instead of showing off the voice. How 'bout some feeling along with the vocal gymnastics?

You know today a lot of people have no idea which is east or west, let alone north or south if you walked up and asked them on the street. I crack up today at the number of people who need a GPS to get around in their own town. I was in LA for year and a half and never had a GPS to get around. Was only lost once first night I was there. Wasn’t really as lost as I couldn’t remember which exit it was. But found it on my own.

But many years ago Three Wise Men took off on a journey to find a manger. They knew a baby would be at that manger. They crossed many miles of unmarked country to find it. They traveled by night without street lights to find it. They didn’t even have a flashlight to light the way. They didn’t have a map to show them the way. They followed a star. They looked to the heavens to find their way at night and the sun by day.

Could you walk out of your house today and find a manger by following a star?

Seems like every day more things are created to let us use our minds less.

Christmasstar sent me a stocking from the experience shop - woohoo, love it! TYVM...

Sadly, I doubt it... Can't find my own car in a parking lot under a lamppost, even if I had GPS...

Afternoon all!
Sorry I haven't been on lately. I have been out of commission from this cold! William got a bad cold starting last Wednesday evening. Thursday I was home with him. Friday I got his cold so we were both home. Saturday and Sunday we were sick. Today I'm feeling better but still have the chills and sweats. Today I brought William to the doctors and now he has meds. Tomorrow he should be able to go back to daycare and I can go back to work! OH here is a bonus for people that have an IPOD touch 4g or iphone. If you have a child and no video baby monitor but want one? Go to the apps store and for 1.99 download video babymonitor. Im using it right now and its very nice. Realtime video streaming too. Well take it easy all. I might be lurking tonight. hehehe

only if it was God that was leading me!

I use maps to get places (not my home town and area, I know most of that) Once I start truck driving however, I plan to get a GPS because the last thing I want to do is get lost on small streets with a big truck!

I feel exactly the same way you do, Merry.

Appreciate your message, Crown. It has meaning on so many different levels. It is quickly turning into a "look at me" world and I have bought into the hype. Crown, your words are a catalyst for me today to shift my way of doing things. I tend to forget that it truly is the message that's important; not what quirky lttle spin I try to put on it, as a messenger. Thank you.

Good Monday morning, my Christmas friends!

Yesterday started good, but ended badly. We have a pretty close office here at work. Gail, the office manager, has two sons, 28 & 32. The youngest son had recently bought a new Camaro, souped up with 400hp, stick shift, etc). He was killed at 10 am yesterday morning after he missed at curve at 100+ MPH. I spent most of the afternoon and evening at his mom & dad's house. Poor Gail was so distraught. I can't imagine how they feel. It breaks my heart.

It's hard to concentrate here at work today. I'm sure her family would appreciate any prayers & good thought you can send their way today.

I hope you all have a great day!

Sorry To hear this Brad. I will keep them and you in my thoughts and prayers!
