Good morning everyone! The sun finally came out today, and it's a beautiful, warmer 39 degrees. It almost felt like spring this morning!
I am so sorry for their loss. It just breaks my heart to hear a parent losing a child. My prayers go out to their family and to you as well. I know this must be very hard on you to see this happen to a friend of yours.Good Monday morning, my Christmas friends!
Yesterday started good, but ended badly. We have a pretty close office here at work. Gail, the office manager, has two sons, 28 & 32. The youngest son had recently bought a new Camaro, souped up with 400hp, stick shift, etc). He was killed at 10 am yesterday morning after he missed at curve at 100+ MPH. I spent most of the afternoon and evening at his mom & dad's house. Poor Gail was so distraught. I can't imagine how they feel. It breaks my heart.
It's hard to concentrate here at work today. I'm sure her family would appreciate any prayers & good thought you can send their way today.
I hope you all have a great day!
Ohhh I was a BIG Guns N Roses fan when iw as a teenager.. Still like them today sooo needless to day I was NOT impressed with with her singing it last night. Sorry no one can sing that song like Axl but did think Slash did great.
I say it is time to bring in some country acts for the halftime show.
how about Donny and Marie?

They still exchange cards in grade schools anymore like we use to years ago. Or has some hateful being stopped that as well?
We did our grocery shopping today and the town of Chico was all decked out for a Packers win. Aaron Rodgers is from there, so lots of stores had his picture up on easels.

Now to get something for my grandmother, & that's the hard one. I got a Christmas gift for her for 2011 after Christmas 2010, but I'm stumped on a birthday gift. She'll be 87 & doesn't have room or need for "stuff", so I'm trying to think of something practical. In the past I've given her Wal-Mart gift certificates so she can buy her groceries with it. She eats like a bird, so taking her out to eat is hard too. Any ideas?
Have a good day & think Christmassy thoughts!
I feel exactly the same way you do, Merry......I heard a clip of it on the radio this morning. I would hope that anyone who's going to sing the National Anthem in public would have enough respect for the U.S.A. to learn the words and music, but some popular music figures don't feel the same way. If you DO know the words and the music, this is not a proper song to improvise on.....
I caught a few of the ads during the Superbowl, even though I don't really care about football.
Some cool looking movies coming this summer!
Super 8
Transformers 3
Cowboys and Aliens (sounds crazy, but Steven Spielberg is doing it)
Thor
Captain America
Nice!cheesy
You're a fine grandson, Dave!Sounds as with my Grandmother as well. She ate very little and took an hour and a half to do so. Our last outing together I took her to one of the nicer malls in KC. She was saying how she never got out anymore and just couldn't do a lot of walking anymore. I had no clue what to get her either her last few years it was hard to come up with things. So anyway I got a wheelchair and pushed her around to the stores and then she could get up and snoop around a bit if she wanted to. She had a blast and we spendt a whole afternoon doing it. I ended up getting her that day this little figurine she saw in the Disney store. Her face lit up when she saw it and the way she was rolling it around in her hands looking at was what settled it for me. But she said no cost way to much. So I said I needed a restroom break got wife to go on with her. I ran back got it, ran to car to hide it, and ran back inside. I gave it to her later when she got back home and she cried she was so happy to see it again. When she had to go to the nursing home in the end it sat on her nightstand the whole time she was there. In fact she still has it with her today.
That Roseanne spectacle was deplorable.I agree 100%. I always thought they should have military people sing it, then you know it will be sung with respect and reverance. Professional singers just think it is a time to showcase their talent and sell albums. I actually missed this one, so I didn't see it live but I read about it on the internet. Of course the absolute worse was what Rosanne did that one time several years ago, not that I ever really liked her, but I lost all respect for her after that.
please let them know that we are praying for them at this difficult time.Good Monday morning, my Christmas friends!

Just wish she was still here today so I could do more for her. I sure do miss her.
