Speaking of snow and cold... I am just about the biggest fan of snow and winter but MY OH MY - Can I handle it much longer!?!?! I think Jude might go out of his mind soon if we don't get some warm weather...
Oooh, the weather just came on - high 40s this weekend and early next week!!!!!!!
I am complaining about the cold and snow but meanwhile, I just can't stand to take my beloved snowmen down around the house, my last bit of Christmas still hangin' on until the end of the month....![]()
Prices are insane! I have to shop around. Whole Foods is very pricey but I have found other health food stores that have Whole Foods prices beat. Instead of 6 bucks for a loaf of wheat/gluten free bread, I can get the same loaf for $4.49 a loaf. Still high but I am the only one who eats it and it last for a little over a week. Some of the regular grocery stores sell rice bread for a little cheaper but might as well eat a sponge, it's awful! The sad thing about gluten-free products is the price!!! On the other note, I know you can do the half marathon. My husband and I did it. At the end, I decided it was NOT for me, but at least I finished the race. I was too tired at the end to eat anything!!!
Well goodnight xmas pals! I'm about to eat dinner and hit the sheets, have a long day tomorrow,I am going out of town till friday, and have not decided if I shall take my laptop to the hotel although it has wifi.If I don't take it I will be backon here friday. Hope everyone has a great rest of the week. As for me I say let it snow, let it snow, let it snow north Ga!!!(still a 80 percent chance of 2 inches!)
Fantastic comeback!Look at them, smile sweetly and ask "do I look sick or unhealthy to you?"cheesy

Christmasstar!!! I have been stressing about a train cake for my little guy and hellooo - should have just asked you if you had any brilliant ideas for me! I always make him (and will do the same for Noel!) a special cake for his bday.. this year it's a train! I am thinking of doing something like this, with modifications. And I'll make homemade pound cake and icing because I get a strange sense of satisfaction doing things from scratch!

What do ya think? Any tips for a regular baker? My cakes always look... ok but not stellar!

I think my brother is doing a half marathon in a couple of months and I know I can't run that far quite yet. 13 miles is a bit too much for now. cheesy I will stick with a 5k for now and who knows, maybe someday I will go for a half marathon! It would be a nice goal to reach.
Congratulations to you for doing it! That is quite an accomplishment!!!
Good evening,
My wifes grandmother is really sick with cancer right now, she may have only a few weeks to live, a few months at the most according to the doctors. We may not be able to see her before she passes since we don't have passports, but we will be trying to get them as quick as we can, and they live in Canada. I would appreciate it if anyone could send their thoughts and prayers her way.
Thank you
Ron

Sending prayers from Arizona. Sounds like you really have a bad case of the flu! Take it easy, if you can! Hoping you get well very soon!I'm feeling better but still sick. Here I am at work though. I have already missed 3 days without pay. Cant miss anymore. …I'm having hot and cold flashes at work and on and off sick to my stomach. Well I have to get better, don't I? LOL Back to work I go!
...Schools closed down 4 days last week. I have been here all my life and that's a first for it to close that long due to weather. We are getting more of it tomorrow. I am loving it!!! We are doing fine ourselves but the city in general is having a rough time with it all. Blackouts, busted pipes…
The weather channel says 40 states are 10-30 degrees under their averages… They say another storm is hitting the mid-states from north to south, and the South is unprepared for the cold weather.Speaking of snow and cold... I am just about the biggest fan of snow and winter but MY OH MY - Can I handle it much longer!?!?! I think Jude might go out of his mind soon if we don't get some warm weather...
I have complete faith in your strength and abilities! I think you will love running, after a short time it turns from a chore to sheer enjoyment!...I am going to start training to run. I think I am ready for it. ...I have been wanting to do this for years but haven't had the strength. Please keep me in thoughts in prayer that I can do this.
Thanks for sharing your success story - gives me inspiration to get off caffeine, salt and dairy (I agree - it is a very hard thing to surrender!) The restaurant thing has been an issue for me as well - I am allergic to animal fats... Now, instead of stressing over people or menus, I simpy opt for a side salad with lemon wedges for dressing. I know it sounds boring, but I like the crunchiness and it’s a no worry option – every restaurant has it. If anyone looks at me, I simply say “diet.” My summer favorite: fruit plate!...I found out 5 years ago that I am allergic to dairy, wheat and gluten. I LOVE DAIRY!!! That was a VERY HARD thing to give up! There are a lot of substitutes out there, soy, almond, coconut milk and many other things but the real thing taste the best to me. ...I am a real pain if I go to a social function and have to turn down most the food offered. I am not a "food snob" it's just that I can't eat a lot of stuff. ...Now it looks like I am picky! I am not picky, my system is "picky"!!! If I give in and have a small portion of what I am not allowed to eat I end up getting sick. Not fun! ...It's just hard to go places and a lot of restaurants.
I don’t get the hostility either. I am embattled between an uncompromising meat-eating spouse and staunchly vegan parents. I can’t win either way!…I have been vegetarian for as long as I can remember, my parents wanted to raise us in a vegetarian way, now I am the only one of my siblings who does not eat meat. …I never tell any one I think my vision of the food production is superior to theirs, I never want any one to change the way they live/think, however, people seem to think that if they are having dinner with a vegetarian (mostly this happens at restaurants) they are in need to start arguing about wether or not being a vegetarian is a good idea... I usually don't feel like discussing this, to me it was well-thought decision, I should not have to defend myself to anyone whenever I have dinner... Usually people make me feel bad, this I hate, I don't do it to them, I don't get why they do it to me...
May I say thank you to everyone for welcoming me to the forum and treating me as if I were a friend - it's touching! Mr. Broderick gifted me a trial platinum membership today. I don't understand how all this works, but AuntieMistletoeDear and Christmas-a-holic did the same thing... And Christmasstars wonderful decor items, and the kindest of everyone is just overwhelming.
Thank you all...for everything!
