Good Morning Everyone!!!!!! We are starting our warm up today here in central Indy. They are predicting a high of 30 for today and we should be in the 50's by Wednesday!!!!! Time to break out the shorts and t-shirts. It is also a sad day here in central Indy. Tom Carnegie the voice of the Indianapolis motor speedway passed away this morning. He will be missed by alot of people. In world news it looks like the people of Egypt finally got what they have been wanting. My plan for today is to try to get some cleaning done around my apartment and then kick back and watch nascar practice from daytona!!! I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!

I'm curious about something. How did everyone come up with their nicknames on the forum?

One of my favorite vintage books (published in 1910) is Mary Cary, Frequently Martha, which takes the form of an orphan's diary. (It has a nice Christmas chapter.) Mary's a spunky kid and has her own opinions about things! There are also Careys on my family tree, hence the spelling.

Ok, I think I am locked into training for the 5k. I just bought some running shoes. I can't spend money on something and not use it. I am way too frugal to do that! The athletic shoes I have now are very comfortable but not too comfy for running so had to get new ones specifically for that. I will be like Forrest Gump and Ruuuuuuuun!

You go girl! I bet the new running shoes are amazing! ...I love shoes! Your post made me chuckle. Shoes are an ongoing joke at my house, "Oh Lrd, if ya bought the shoes, you must be serious..." my hubby always says (as he rolls his eyes) wondering what event I'm draggin him off to... I do love shoes.

I'm really sorry for the loss of a beloved legend! Been keeping an eye on Cairo in the past few days, I better go flip on the news to see what's happening. Thanks Made!

Good Day Chrsitmas friends, havent been around in the last few days. I have had a marvelous turn in events. I landed a long term sub job in the school district in which i LIVE ,THE SCHOOL IS LITERALLY DOWN THE STREET. It is really hard to get in this district and the teacher I am subbing for is going to retire in the fall ,I could honestly have a chance at getting a full time job in the district. This could not have come at a better time and in fact came at the utmost perfect time. Prior to this I didnt know how we were going to pay for everything in Feb. Believe me when I say it was divine intervention. It literally fell in my lap. I hope you all are doing well, and everytime my Christmas Carol Bell Clock chimes every hour I think of you all. Good afternoon, Christmas Family !!

I got through my very first week of midnights !! It was really tough though. The last couple days were not as hard as the first !! A problem though is that since I am a transcriptionist and I start at 11 p.m. EST, The lines from that first hour stay on the day of course that they are transcribed and then at midnight of course all the lines are on the next day hence for instance at the end of my shift this morning my line count is absent those made at 11 p.m. last night even though the shift was for today. So confusing. Anyway, the people at the new company seem really nice and are very willing to help with any questions, etc. I just hope we can work this line count thing out !! It is nice to be off on Friday and Saturday and I am really tired.

I loved reading about how everyone got their screen names !! Thank you for sharing !! My screen name is pretty obvious ! I love animals, I have 3 canines and I think of them as my furchildren, hence I am their mom, their canine mom !! That is why I am caninemom3 but I have had as many as 5 canines at one time. Heck, if I could I would have a million furchildren but I would not be able to give them what they need so I do what I can !!

Well not knowing in what media the photo was taken is hard to say. Several factors could lead up to that look on a picture. As for it being what she thinks it is I disagree. I have had to many shots I have taken show something close to that on it. In fact old Polariod Swinger Cameras made lots of prints such as this in B&W.

I am probably the only woman who doesn't have a million shoes. Like I said, I am very frugal. I own just the basics, good pair of sneakers for work, a couple of pairs of dress shoes, a couple of pairs of sandals and some boots. They are all basic colors to go with everything. So with the investment on the running shoes I had to make sure I MUST train for running. I absolutely hate to see money wasted. Just ask my husband, I will find every way possible to save money and spend wisely. He said he wasn't frugal until he met me. :lol:
