Good morning everyone. I am still in my recliner since I posted last night! I slept pretty good though. I am literally stuck here..I might be a little better though but I don't want to lay down in bed because I am afriad I won't be able to get up. Luckily my gf is coming over soon to help and take the dogs for a walk...I have never been down in my back this bad kind of scary to feel this helpless!I am still in my game clotheslol. There was nothing on tv all night and my tv with the dvd player is in the upstairs den,I had to rely on my dvr recorded programming to watch all night. Turns out I had quite a few Christmas movies recorded in it, so I watched "home alone" and put it on replay all night. such a good movie to have as background noise because of the music and all. I hope everyone has a great second half of the weekend!

I'll be praying that you feel better soon!!!!!!

If I never hear another tornado siren in my life it will be too soon. There were times last Wednesday when the siren wouldn’t even be cleared from one warning before another sounded.

By now most of the major highways have been cleared of debris. However, crews will be working for months to come to clear the roadside of all the debris that was removed from the lanes of traffic. There are still very large numbers of people without power as crews work to restore downed tower structures and transmission lines. Many larger cities such as Huntsville, AL have a dusk to dawn curfew. To be out on the streets at night without working traffic signals is just too dangerous .

A major route is being shut down locally this morning while cadaver dogs search for more victims. The death numbers you are seeing reported are only the confirmed. Sadly, this same scenario is being played out throughout Central and Northern Alabama as well as parts of Mississippi, Tennessee, and Georgia.

Some local TV and radio stations finally started showing regular programs on a limited basis yesterday but for the most part are broadcasting local recovery information.

Understand that all is well in my part of the state…considering. The carnage and destruction begins one county down and one county over from me in Alabama and two counties southwest into Mississippi. The small towns of Smithville, Mississippi, Hackleburg, Alabama, and Phil Campbell, Alabama are no more. These close knit communities are hurting. Literally every person left of the population has suffered loss of family members and property. Three people from the office where I work lost homes or suffered serious property damage. One man from the office from which I retired lost his mother. Her funeral is today. Certainly there are many small communities across the region experiencing the same trial.

Forgive me for being a downer but this is the first time I have even been emotionally recovered enough to talk about it. My FaceBook status of last Thursday was all I could say at the time. My wife, children, grandchildren, and brother (though his power is off) are safe. We are blessed.

I sure would like to hear from Sugarplum Fairy. I did hear from primchristmas in hard hit Tuscaloosa, Alabama (about 110 miles south of me) yesterday. Her power was out and she has been out in the community helping her friends in true need. The Christmas Spirit personified!

Thanks for the update. I heard an interview with the mayor of Tucaloosa last night and he said that they still haven't accounted for over 500 people. I am praying that all of them have just left town and are all okay.

we survived here.. tornadoes hit 25 miles west and 30 miles south- minor damage .. what a wild time...

YABBA!

Glad to hear that you and the coffee stockpile are okay!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good Afternoon Everyone!!!!!! It is a wet and dreary day here in central Indy. It is hard to believe that we are already to the month of may. Christmas seems like it was just yesterday. I don't have much going on this afternoon. I am thinking about doing some baking but I don't know what to make. So maybe I will break out the cookbooks and try something new. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And with this post, RJD is poster #9,100. His prize, you ask? A deck of cards from Circus, Circus in Reno!

Glad to hear that you and the coffee stockpile are okay!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good afternoon everyone!

It's a slightly chilly day here, in the 50's I believe, and it looks like it will rain someday. I thought showers were supposed to end in April? :)

Yesterday was the Celebration of Life "party" for my friend's dad who died on Easter. It was a good time, saw lots of friends and there were pictures of Tom everywhere. It was great to see some REALLY old pictures of him!! I was actually doing fine until I saw his urn on the one table...I'm not sure what it is about that, but I started feeling sick and we left a little while afterward. I guess I still can't really deal with death well and I did feel bad...but at least we were there a few hours.

Afterward, we got together with a few friends and played the new Michael Jackson dance game for Kinect. I did my favorite MJ song, Beat It, and did rather well. I love dancing games!

This morning, I did the March For Babies with my Kohl's team. It upset me a little because I felt that a lot of people didn't really want to be there, and everyone left after two laps (we were supposed to do three). I was going to stick around and do the last lap, try to find some of my other friends that were also doing the walk, but I couldn't find them...and the line for food was really long too, so I just left. It's put me in a bit of a sour mood all day so far, so I'm hoping I can snap out of it soon.

My bf and I are watching Ralphie May's comedy special (it is HILARIOUS), then my parents are coming over to have a late lunch with us and visit their grandkitty and granddog. Should be a good day!

Have a great Sunday everyone! <3

Heard from my cousins in Jasper, AL.
They are OK. Just a few trees down in the area.

I have been dozing in and out this afternoon. this back pain medicine is making me groggy but is really helping with the spasms. I was half sleeping and half listening to home alone2 a while ago and when it got to the part where the joe pesci and daniel stern where sliding down the rope that was on fire,I was dreaming I was trying to climb up a rope that was on fire trying to out run the fire...sounds silly now but I never have vivid dreams like that. I have to be better tomorrow to go to work. And I think I will be. I can sit at my desk all day if I have to,It's the stairs I am worried about. there is like 7 flights of them I have to walk up. It is a very sunny day here temps are in the 80's and my a/c is running full blast,I got my april power bill and it was not at all bad,but from here on out It will be sky high I imagine. hope everyone has a great afternoon,I am going to go back to lala dream land for now!

It ain't me! Mine was the quote within the post by made.

I'll Share it with you!!!!!!! You give me the hearts and spades from the deck from Reno and I will give you the hearts and spades from one of my decks from Vegas. cheesy

CAH and Coach- It looks like you guys are under a tornado watch again. Stay Safe!!!!!!!!!

Made582-it looks like you in the midwest are forever getting rain...hope it does not flood too bad around there! I have not checked my local weather all weekend until just now. us in southern Ga are not expected to get any rain in the next 10 days, but that can change...we are going to be up in the 90's starting tomorrow, and I guess that is just about average for us. at least the humidity does not come until june!

Good afternoon, Christmas friends. It is sunny and clear with breezes here in northern California. I am as bad as GBD and his vivid dreams. I dreamed I had to have a substitute next week for state testing, and she let the kids use red ink pens and mark up their tests. She let one little girl cut out a picture that was on the test, and she let one boy take his test home to finish it!!! Weird, weird, weird. We do start testing on Tuesday, but I definitely don't want to be out! I hope you all have a safe and wonderful afternoon!

feeling very tired...it is only 9:30pm...but I am so tired, i could go to bed just now. in case I do, i wish you guys a good night and sweet dreams!!!
