Well, I am blessed to be here!
It was just me & DD, camping out in the basement bathroom. DD said she was scared of the storm. I asked her who protects us, and after thinking of Daddy & Mommy, she remembered that Jesus takes care of Mommy & Daddy too. We had just discussed that praying was talking to Jesus just like talking to anyone else. She laid down between the tub & toilet & said, "Jesus, please protect us. Amen." Then she fell asleep and snored through the storm!
Very glad to see you on here - what a precious daughter you have!
Good news!
My cat appeared to be getting worse and I was worried we might have to take him back to the vet. Today, he is up venturing through the house and eating better. For the past week he mostly laid in one spot or just in my lap. I am glad he is getting curious again and roaming around. He is not fully recovered but it's a good sign!
I'm so glad your cat is doing better!
I have wanted XM/Sirius forever, mainly for the Christmas music , and the NHL channel of course. I hope you enjoy it.
I had Sirius with my satellite programming a few years back and I only listened to the holiday channel cheesy
I hope the water in your basement stays low, and I am glad to hear Mouse is doing better.
Thank you!
I think the tape is called Magic Tape. Yeah, that's right, Magic Tape. Wait, you say it's NOT new? Oh, well! In the voice of AnnaRosannaDanna: "Never mind!"
I seriously wish all of us on MMC could meet someday at some sort of MMC convention !!

OMG !! I LOVE H.P. Lovecraft !!! I didnt think anyone still knows who he was !!! xo
Me, too!
Good evening everyone! I feel like I am 90 years old tonight. I had a baseball game today and it went fine and all but when I got home tonight I can't move. My lower back is OUT.
Hope your back improves!
Well as Christmas-A-Holic said, I played in a best ball golf tournament today. I was so nervous since I haven't played for about 10 years, but I played better than I thought I would, had some really good tee shots.
Congratulations - sounds like you had a lot of fun!
Diana's death was the first "celebrity" death that I remember crying over. As in, seriously crying over.
I cried over her death, too - I admired her so much!
If I never hear another tornado siren in my life it will be too soon. There were times last Wednesday when the siren wouldn’t even be cleared from one warning before another sounded.
By now most of the major highways have been cleared of debris. However, crews will be working for months to come to clear the roadside of all the debris that was removed from the lanes of traffic. There are still very large numbers of people without power as crews work to restore downed tower structures and transmission lines. Many larger cities such as Huntsville, AL have a dusk to dawn curfew. To be out on the streets at night without working traffic signals is just too dangerous .
A major route is being shut down locally this morning while cadaver dogs search for more victims. The death numbers you are seeing reported are only the confirmed. Sadly, this same scenario is being played out throughout Central and Northern Alabama as well as parts of Mississippi, Tennessee, and Georgia.
Some local TV and radio stations finally started showing regular programs on a limited basis yesterday but for the most part are broadcasting local recovery information.
Understand that all is well in my part of the state…considering. The carnage and destruction begins one county down and one county over from me in Alabama and two counties southwest into Mississippi. The small towns of Smithville, Mississippi, Hackleburg, Alabama, and Phil Campbell, Alabama are no more. These close knit communities are hurting. Literally every person left of the population has suffered loss of family members and property. Three people from the office where I work lost homes or suffered serious property damage. One man from the office from which I retired lost his mother. Her funeral is today. Certainly there are many small communities across the region experiencing the same trial.
Forgive me for being a downer but this is the first time I have even been emotionally recovered enough to talk about it. My FaceBook status of last Thursday was all I could say at the time. My wife, children, grandchildren, and brother (though his power is off) are safe. We are blessed.
I sure would like to hear from Sugarplum Fairy. I did hear from primchristmas in hard hit Tuscaloosa, Alabama (about 110 miles south of me) yesterday. Her power was out and she has been out in the community helping her friends in true need. The Christmas Spirit personified!

Thank you for the update, RJD - my thoughts and prayers are with all those affected in any way by these storms - ((((hugs))))
we survived here.. tornadoes hit 25 miles west and 30 miles south- minor damage .. what a wild time...
