UNDER one week now until the 2/3 mark to Christmas Day!
(We are just racing head-long toward the holidays, aren't we?)

Overcast but calm here this morning with about a 30 percent chance of rain for the next several days.
Currently, we stand at a very pleasant 71 degrees.
(The combination of low temps but a threatening sky makes me want to get my walk in early!)

Travis popped the question on Sunday! We are planning on getting married in September of next year, and we have a visitation appointment with a venue tomorrow night. I have also started dress shopping already...I guess being a wedding obsessed person for over 20 years is really paying off! lol We are so excited and I can't even tell you how happy I am (and he really shocked me with the engagement...I knew it was coming but I had no idea when or where he would do it, or that he had even gotten a ring already!).

Hey everyone.. man I feel like stranger to the boards lately as I have not had ANY time to get on and post. The past 3 weeks have been like a whirlwind.... mostly good but some bad. We had our son's b-day party, had family come for a visit, went on vacation, did some christmas shopping but unfortunately during this time we also had to put one of dogs down. She was 16 yr old Husky that had a canerous tumor on her leg that broke open. It caused an infection to set in her leg as well. The decision to put her down and to actually do it was the most hardest thing we ever had to do. We still miss her but at least now we know she is not suffering........

On a side note... if any of you have a Borders Book store near by you mya to check them out. I picked up several Christmas story books and a Grinch bingo game for our kids.

We saw Def Leppard and Heart - DL was on that night - absolutely amazing show!

This has been a long week thus far, my sister and bro in law left two days ago but it feels like forever ago. More Christmas magazines have popped out on the news stand this last week, I think I counted 3 more new ones. Please say a prayer for my in laws, they are in a bad situation right now, I don't want to go into details for their sake, but they need guidance quickly.

Back to the grind in the a.m. I feel like getting time to get here lately has been trying.

I posted this on facebook already, so anyone who is friended over there already knows, but I also had to share with my Christmas family as well...

Congratulations!!!!!!! :???: I was a September bride, too (6 years ago on September 17th!) and it's a great time to get married! My sister chose September 18th last year ... guess it really is a good weekend, huh? lol!

Good Friday morning, my Christmas friends!

When I got home yesterday, I found that Nancy had put a roast in the crockpot earlier that day. The house smelled wonderful! The taste wasn't too bad, either...just kidding! It was great! As a matter of fact, I ate supper twice. LOL!

Had a large amount of rain yesterday. Went into where the farmers hang out when it's raining and they were complaining non-stop! Just two days earlier, they were complaining about no rain. They sure are a funny group, but I love them anyways (need to since my father in law is one).

I love rain! It can rain for days and I enjoy every bit of it. I will admit if there is an outdoor event I have planned in advance rain might be a little annoying. =)

I'm glad it's Friday, and I hope it goes quickly! Tomorrow we have luxury-box seats for a minor-league double-header at Fenway, and we'll be seeing some friends we haven't seen in a LONG while. LONG = we haven't seen the baby they adopted yet, and she's a teenager now! Life can get away from you when you're dealing with everyday stuff.

Ooh, nice! I've been wanting a new hand mixer with more power---the one I have is pretty old, and I can smell hot plastic when I mix cookie dough, so it's time. You'll be power-baking now!

I feel super exhausted this morning. I hope this goes away soon! I ran for the past 2 days, a mile each day. I started running 6 months ago but kind of back off of it some for the past 6 weeks and just did other types of exercise. A mile is not a lot but it is for me since I am just starting back. I think between running and running after grandkids all week it caught up to me. Good thing I am off from work and not watching the kids today. I am going to REST! =)

Good morning all..... Well over th course of this summer I have learned how to make various jams and can them... blueberry, blackberry and peach. Next month when apples come into season I will try my hand at making apple butter.. found a recipe for apple cider butter that I will try too. Plan on canning them as well and using some for christmas gifts along with the jams....

Good morning, Christmas friends. It is supposed to be a lot cooler today, down to 93 degrees! It is Hawaiian Day at school, so I have some hot pink stuff to wear. My lei is various shades of pink. There is no way, though, that I am wearing coconuts!!!! I did use coconut scented conditioner on my hair! Hope you all have a great Friday! I can hardly believe how close we are to the Season and to Christmas! At first, when Jeff proposed a goal of 20,000 post by Christmas, I did not think we would do it. Looking at the number of posts today, I think we will even go over that goal.

We had storms go north of us and south of us but nothing here. I could see the lighting and hear the thunder but they just seem to be missing us this summer. :-?
