I don't know, I can't fathom how/why someone would do this. I remember being young and being 5-6 years old, walking all around the woods and neighborhood with no worries. Now I don't even feel comfortable letting my older son go in the backyard by himself some days. The world has changed.

Good Afternoon Everyone!!!! It is freezing here today with the high only predicted to get to 19 degrees. I took down the last of my christmas decorations and my christmas tree this morning.:sad: My apartment just looks bland now. This afternoon and evening is going to be devoted to football.

Go Colts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the update, I can't get any concrete answers from here. I am not a political person, but she was/is a truly incredible woman who battled vicious private interest groups last year, yet stayed true to herself and her vision for Arizona. She was/is so down-to-earth and her family is so closely knit, from a little farming community. This corner store is in a relatively good neighborhood, but I noticed there was a lot of picketing there, during the election. It's just sooo very wrong! And I won't post anymore about this... Sorry for rambling on... I'm just stunned for her and everyone there... Thanks for the update...

I am afraid things are not looking very good for my Goblin. I talked to the doctor today and he said Gobby (as I call him) is STILL not eating very well on his own. They are having to syringe feed him. His blood work was fine so at this point they are a bit baffled. The next thing will ben an exploratory surgery to look inside. Doc thought he felt a mass, a small one, in the abdomen, so they need to look and see what is going on. I am not giving up but I really don't think he is going to make it.

Good news that the doctor who operated on Gabrielle Giffords is optimistic that she will make it. Sadly, a 9-year old girl died.
 
Good afternoon, Christmas friends. It is still cold out with no sun. I am busily doing laundry and hubby is watching football. At the same time, I am typing up a spreadsheet for my new classroom schedule. We are adding something else to the mix. I hope to be on later.

I am going to add another goal for the New Year: try to hit at least 6,000 posts for myself this year. I think I can do it, and that will help me with trying to contribute to this forum.

Okay, I lied, I'm posting one more time... A sweet little girl (and six others) have died at the hands of this one angry young man. Congresswoman Gabrielle has survived neurosurgery (to what degree is still unkown). Five others are in critical condition. The shooter is only 22 yrs old - what can you possibly think you know at the tender age of 22 to be this adamantly angry about?! It just hurts my heart... What has become of civilized disagreement? I would be in favor of High School Course Requirements in Conflict Resolution...

The political world has become so volatile (it seems) as to destroy an innocent 9 yr old child - I'm finished with arguments about whose political party is wrong/who's right and with the news talk shows that perpetuate and promote such intense dischord. Thanks for listening, I'm also done talking on the Merry Christmas Forum about my pain (really!)

We need a whole lot more Christmas in this mad world! Let's go about spreading whatever joy and harmony is in our hearts, MMC-ers!

We are all here for each other. Even the first Christmas was not without its politics. Think about how Herod thought he was sending the Wise Men as his spies so he could kill the new-born Jesus. The only way we can truly know joy is to also experience pain. Otherwise, we would not have anything to contrast it with.
