it seems like I suscribed to having Bronchitis throughout this winter.....it came over night....a real downer...on the other hand...I am blessed with a upbeat, friendly and happy child and great family....so life aint bad....just this bronchitis is annoying

I hope you feel better soon! I know how you feel, because nearly every cold I get becomes bronchitis before it's over.

Wow just heard that 2 Airmen that were stationed out of RAF Lakenheath were shot and killed and 2 others wounded at Frankfurt Airport! chances are they were being deployed because all deployments out of England go through Germany first. May they RIP and may the shooter face swift justice!

I read about it two hours ago...terrible....police already caught a guy descending from Kosovo who lives in Frankfurt....nobody knows anything about the motives yet...or if he is even the shooter......may God bless the men that lost their lives and their families.

I have to go and speak to a group about my journey in looking for job, the training I went through ect. I wish I had more warning, but it should be ok. Only expecting 20 people to attend.
hope it went well :)

My day off was okay, I got 2 out of three things done, I skipped the oil change because the guy at the service desk was a complete twit and acted like I was an annoyance by interrupting his job of HELPING people
Such people can really bum you out, hope it didn't ruin your day. It's not just customer service that's not the way it used to be, but I think it's just politeness that's not always what you'd want it to be...

Little LC was breaking my heart when I dropped him off at daycare, his little lip sticking out not wanting me to leave, he didn't do that when my wife dropped him off yesterday, he wanted to stay with me for a change it made me feel good, since he is such a Momma's boy.
aww that's sweet :) of course he wants to stay with you, you sound like an amazing dad!

I had planned to be up by 6 am to get in my run before the grandkids got here but an allergy attack kept me up later than I wanted to so I slept right up until they got here. No worries, I will get in a run on my treadmill while they are here. Sometimes it gets interrupted while they are here but it will work out! /QUOTE]
hope they didn't interupt you too much and that you had a good workout!

The weather here is going to be perfect the next couple of days. We are expecting highs in the mid 50's and lows in the mid 30's. Perfect weather for camping. My friend should be here in a few minutes and then we sill head out for some fun in the great outdoors. It has been awhile since both of us have been camping and we are both looking forward to it.
Hope it will be a great trip!

.so now I am single and in this town I live in is nothing but other military women,(sorry but no) or college chicks between the ages of 18-22. not exactly a good dating pool for a 36 year old guy!lol that is where it stands now.I know I can have kids 10 or 15 years from now but really I don't want to go to my kids graduation in a wheelchair or walker either...
Love is the power that looks over the dessert, but denies the feeling nothing can grow here... Hope your future has great things for you!!

Election day in Holland! Exciting! It was the first time I was still in doubt while going in to the election office! waiting for the results now! I voted for our new Prime minister to get a majority in the Senate!

Hope every one is well! I am having half a day of work tomorrow, since I'll be off working for my cake decorating magazine! An important interview!
I am off to watch the results now! Have a great day every one!

I love election days too...getting to cast a vote and feeling like you have a hand in the shaping of your country is a great feeling and everyone in countries where you CAN vote should never take it for granted because in alot of places you can't.cheesy

I did get a good workout and they did just fine. I ran a little on my treadmill then took one lap around the school across the street while Wayne watched the kids. I am trying to get use to running on pavement, way different than on a treadmill. I told my 5 year old grandson he can watch me out the window while I run. As I walked out he said, "you're so cool grandma"! I thought that was funny! cheesy

Just got through mowing my lawn for the first time in 2011! nothing beats the smell of fresh cut grass! I popped in a lasagna in the oven, it should be done in an hour. I hope everyones day is going good!

Good luck on the interview. Are you the interviewer or the interviewee?

Another beautiful day today! After my workout we sat down for breakfast then a little while later my 5 year old grandson and I headed out back to do some more yard work while my granddaughter took a mid morning nap. Wayne was still here and kept an eye on her.

She woke up, we had a picnic in the back yard and got back to work. My granddaughter helped out by picking up sticks and stacking them in a pile. She is 1 and half years old and was really proud of herself putting sticks in a pile!

My 5 year old grandson was so eager again to help and was going non stop. Then they played for awhile outside before my oldest grandson got home from school.

I got a few things to do around here before American Idol comes on.

I hope you all had a great day today!

How sweet!!! Don't you just love kids!!!???

Can we search the Countdown? If so, how can I search for the posts on legalization of (I think it was) pot?

Legalization of Pot

For want of a better name, I entitled my email "Legalization of Pot" because I could not remember and could not find the original email regarding this subject.

I never have and never will do, smoke or whatever pot. I am a child of the 50s and 60s. I was in 8th grade when Kennedy was elected, graduated in 1965 from high school, and graduated college in 1969. I never considered doing pot--I knew what I wanted in life, and I went after it. I was TOTALLY opposed to pot and all drugs. My mom developed cancer in the 1970s, and it came back BIG TIME in the early 1990s. Her pain and nausea were tremendous. Hospice made sure she was as comfortable as she could be with morphine until the very end. My sister had cancer. Then my dad developed cancer. Several years passed. Marijuana was proven to help cancer patients control nausea so they could eat and hold down the food they ate. I still did not waver in my attitude toward drugs. I continued to hear about cancer patients and the use of marijuana to help curtail the nausea and to allow them to hold down their food instead of throwing up so much. Then in 2007, my son was diagnosed with leukemia. I saw the devastation that this disease wreaked in his body. I saw the pain he went through. I saw the nausea and vomiting he endured, way beyond what any of us endure with a stomach virus. Then I saw what happened when he was emaciated and finally gave in and took pot as prescribed. It was not a cureall, but he was able to finally able to keep food down and actually survive. He still has tremendous pain in his feet and has to walk with a cane. He still has tremendous spells with nausea. NEVER would I have voted for the legalization of pot until I saw what my son went through. Now, I will. I am WAY OVER 60 years old.

Thanks for posting that seawaters! Being a middle of the road kind of guy,I have no opinions on this subject, but I have to believe if many states legalized pot it would be in a very controlled environment. Look at all the restrictions places upon cigarette smokers. Most places are smoke free anyways. I would imagine it would be 10 times as strict with pot..just my opinion anyway.

Well I am out for the night. I hope everyone has a great evening and I will talk with Yall tomorrow.

Great post! I think if it's prescribed for medical reasons and works it should be legal. It can't be any worse than morphine or other legal drugs out there.

I am so sorry about your son. I sure hope he starts feeling better!

I did not want to bring anyone down about my post. I just wanted you to know that everything is not black and white. Honestly, I was such a "straight arrow" all of my life and would NEVER swerve from my path. I studied when I needed to, made A s on everything and had excellent grades in college and graduate school. I was so AGAINST drugs. That's what I want you to understand. AND I also want you to understand, that until I had been so personally affected, I, too, would vote against the legalization of marijuana. NOW, I ALSO want you to understand that I am NOT trying to change your mind, but please be mindful: What if it were to happen to you?

Please do not think that you need to respond. Just think. Change only when and if you need to.

My Illicit Affair

I must confess that I love Girl Scout cookies: Thin Mints, Tagalongs (Spelling) and the peanut butter filled ones. I spent $32.00 on the cookies. But there is something about the Best Yet (el cheapo) vanilla and chocolate cream-filled cookies that call my name. Tonight I had a choice. Can you guess what I chose???
