GOOD LUCK CAH !!! I am sure you will do well.....Just imagine all those beautiful little furry faces pleading for help and that will motivate you...especially that one commercial (I don't know if it is for the Humane Society or ASPCA) where the captions are below the animals ........it starts out with a doggy just shivering and the caption reads What Did I Do Wrong".. That breaks my heart every time.....Maybe that could be your motivation !!!

We have used those commercials as a way to teach our boys to be empathetic towards animals, hearing the sad music and how sad the animals are, really teaches them to be kind to animals especially when we tell them there are some people who are mean to innocent animals and the animals need to be loved all the time.

Here I thought I was going to have a nice relaxing Sunday before the craziness of grand opening starts up, but I may have been wrong! I did sleep in and enjoy some lazy time this morning with DD, but now it is time to get moving! Among that list is not only a few work related errands, but also some pampering for me. The next few weeks will be spent beating myself up physically by working REALLY long hours, so today is the day for a little pampering! And I may need to re-visit the pampering in about a month too!

Anyways, I'm off to enjoy the day and get my stuff taken care of! Enjoy the day my Christmas friends!

Info on my running for those who don't know. I have tried to enter 2 other races in the past couple of months and got sick right before it.

This will be my first race ever if nothing gets in the way.

Caninemom, you could get one your polar bears to chase me to the finish line. I think that will get me running! cheesy

I think you are right about being motivated to see all the dogs out there. A lot of people will be running with their dogs. You should see me when I am out and about and just see someone walking their dog. It puts a smile on my face and here I am in the car baby talking to it. I am not yelling out the window doing that, just to myself. ha ha!

At my job we sell pet supplies and people are welcomed to bring their dogs. I LOVE IT! They all get hugs from me and it really makes work fun.

You and I are of the same heart CAH !!! I baby talk my furchildren as well as any furchild I can.....I would do anything to save them....I wish I could run with you....not that I would get far with my asthmatic stuff going on but I would try.....God Bless You and your love for animals. I am sure St. Francis who is the patron of animals is smiling on you......((((HUGS))))) to you !!! xo

I was a a retail warrior at one time too Xmas. Believe it or not, I even had someone tell me that I could make a "killing" in the retail selling business.....I chose not do to that because I did not want to sell folks stuff they could not afford or that I knew was junk....so I stayed behind the counter at Rite Aid or wherever.. Now I don't have many people skills left but my furkids love me !!!!

My day off is here, I am relaxing right now before I go through my clothes that I want to donate, it has been awhile since I have done that. We enjoyed our breakfast of chocolate chip pancakes and turkey bacon, LC actually ate 3 pancakes and 4 pieces of bacon, that will probably be all he eats for the week since he rarely ever wants to eat. My JP turns 6 on Wednesday, I remember the first time I held him like yesterday, he is growing so quickly, reading, writing now, my baby is growing too fast.

Just keep thinking about all those pets who need homes---you'll be helping them to find them. They're depending on you, and you're the one who can do it!

The commercial that really moved me was a little over 15 years ago, but I still think about it. A dog in front of an open suitcase. He drops in his favorite toys slowly and sadly. He looks at a picture of his boy, softly touches it with his paw, and whimpers. He closes the suitcase, picks it up by the handle, and walks down the hallway of his home. He pauses before the door of a room. Inside is a boy glued to the TV set; he doesn't see his fur friend looking in. Sadly, the dog picks up his suitcase and walks on down the hall to the front door. His boy doesn't love him anymore, so it's time to find another home.

Good morning, friends! Hope all is well.

Busy few days here. Lots of school related things are going on. Yesterday, I spent the morning outside before having to attend the prom last night. Well, there was some a problem that led to me being called to the school right when I came in from working in the yard and was going to relax for a few hours. Yesterday, I went from 8 in the morning until midnight last night. Needless to say, I'm still tired.

The coffee is great, the weather is beautiful...think I will sit outside,read the paper, and have my coffee.

Calling all Christmas friends. I need your help and will tell you what it's about here:

I am sounding like a broken record but I plan to enter a 3k race next weekend. It's to raise money for the SPCA. I love animals and want to help them when I can. People are allowed to bring their dogs and have them race along side with them. I think it will be a really fun event. I just love animals!!!

I think the 3k is what I need. I am just not ready for a 5k right now.

Good morning, Christmas friends. It is gray and chilly here in northern California. I wore a coat to church for last night's Mass and was very comfortable. Sometimes Father doesn't always turn up the heat so much, especially in this time of weird weather when it is hot one day and cold the next. I did quite a bit of independent study work last night, so I am going to have some time today to help hubby with some Elks stuff today. I am making split pea soup in the crockpot which we will have with honey cornbread tonight. I hope everyone has a great day.

Thanks everyone! I will be so proud to know that my first race was out to help animals. I always want to save them all and my neighbors tease me that I am a magnet to animals in need. My next door neighbor is a magnet as well. We seem to have animals just show up on our porch hungry and thirsty. I feel honored that they feel safe with me. I then come in the house and tell my fur children how lucky they are. They don't realize how many homeless/abused dogs and cats there are out in this world.

All the races they have around here are for good causes. I will be proud to support any of them if I can keep entering them.
