Good Thursday afternoon, my Christmas friends!

My kids are on the front page of our local paper today! They did a piece on kids during summer break, and my niece (she works for the paper) took a picture of my kids jumping in the pool and it made it on the front page. They were so proud! Of course, we are a small area and the paper only comes out once a week.

There's not much else to report today. I'll be at work here till 5, then off the chiroprator, then work on the deck till dark. That's getting to be the story of my life! LOL

I hope you all have a great day! cheesy

Hey guys! Hope everyone is doing ok! Taking a day off (kinda) here. Took dog to get groomed early this morning, having doors installed on the house, working in the yard, packed to go stay with wife tonight, now about to go get dog and make 2 hour trek to see wife. Busy, busy, busy.

Oh, man. I just posted this over in the Retro section. I found this while reading about others' childhood Christmas decorations. I googled it, and found a video. I can't believe someone had this:

[youtube_browser]Sct7zhnBGdc[/youtube_browser].

My most vivid childhood memories of Christmas were made in front of this cardboard fireplace. The army base housing we lived in while I was a kid didn't normally have fireplaces, and I was scared Santa couldn't get in without one. So mom & dad bought this for me, and promised me Santa could use it...and he always did.

Oh, my.

Good Afternoon, Christmas Family !!!

Good News, no better than that, Miraculous news !!!

Wes got through the surgery just fine, which was an endovascular procedure. With this type of surgery they place like a graft or patch over the aneurysm and divert the blood flow somehow taking the pressure off the aneurysm itself. That is the routine part. The miraculous thing that I just found out from my sister, and which she did not tell me before, was that the ANEURYSM WAS 8.2 cm !!!! That is huge and usually when they are that large they are just ready to rupture. Wes' did not. A true miracle. Someone, they way I see it, definitely had their hand over Wes.

Thank you all for your prayers, rosaries, thoughts, I can't tell you how much you and your suppor means to me. My sister wishes to thank you all too. Now the recovery which I hope will be swift.

Blessings everyone xoxoxoxo And Thank you (((((HUGS)))))))

:tree:

Excellent news, CM3!!!!!

Good evening!

I just finished clearing my desk off - I can relax for the rest of the evening.

After I take care of the fur kids, I am going to read - book 3 in the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants series. Some YA fiction is quite good!

Have a great evening and pleasant dreams!!!!!

I ended up taking a 3 hour nap and now I am even more tired than I was this morning. I have a feeling that I will be in bed early tonight and that's good because I want to get up early to watch all of the coverage of the last shuttle launch tomorrow morning.

We had the same one when I was young. The house I lived in until 7th grade didn't have a fireplace and my mom found one of them at a garage sale one year. We put it up every year until we moved into my grandma's house which had a fireplace. I don't know what happened to it but I wish we still had it because I would be using it again here in my apartment.

Warning: Rant!

I'm feeling so bad for Mr., and so angry at his workplace ... he's covering for a bereaved colleague this week, so he's working from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., instead of until 5:30---except that TWICE this week, just before he's due to leave, he gets word that "some work is coming down in a few hours ... it has to be out by 6:30 a.m., so we'll be here past midnight." The other night, he was lucky enough to get home about 11:30. Tonight there's no end in sight---he'll miss the last train home and have to pay for a cab home himself---about 30 miles---because the people who can cut him a voucher have left the office. And he'll be expected to be there bright and early at 9 a.m. tomorrow. Lately his department has been slammed with a lot of late and weekend work, caused by ad writers who just don't give a d--- how late others have to work. They take all the time they want, pushing all the schedule pressure onto people who are supposed to have regular working hours, but wind up having to accommodate the writers' erratic work habits. It'll be tough trying to sleep tonight, not knowing whether he'll be home in a couple hours or will have to work until dawn. I can't even say "thank goodness tomorrow's Friday," because he was on call last Saturday in case they needed him to work from home!

I realize it's bad form to air workplace grievances online, especially someone else's, but I'm so frustrated tonight that I just had to vent. I can only hope that some complaints reach some managers who can do something about the current situation. Some of those writers need a swift kick in the tuchus. Any volunteers? The line forms here!

Hey friends... Posting from mom in laws...visiting wife who is doing clinicals...bout to head to bed...see everyone in morning for coffee...

Good morning!

CM3 - Good luck on your job interview today!!!!!

MerryCarey - I hope things get better for Mr. at work!!!!!

Feels fall-like out this morning - I wish it would last, but the heat is coming this weekend. I am going to enjoy the day as much as possible! Getting an early start on work this morning as I am hoping to catch up to my personal goal of hours worked this week. Tomorrow I am having my brother help me get a dresser I found at a thrift store - I have a hold on it, and if it fits where I want to put it, I will have a very busy day - but a much more organized house later in the evening!

Have a great day!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hope he is getting overtime pay for this! Does he also get paid when he works from home?
Sounds more like these people own him rather that him having a job (I thought slavery was outlawed now?)
I have a friend who carries a company cell phone just in case they need her. When she comes to visit I make her turn it off, or have her conveniently forget it. (she is a truck driver by the way)

Good Morning MMC !

well, the crunch is on! I only have today left to finish these cakes. The wedding cake is baking, 3/4 's done. Only the top layer yet to bake.
Competition cake is taking shape, painting a sunset on the side today. I have never painted a sunset before, so this should be interesting!
