Good morning, MMC!

I am drinking my chocolate coffee and catching up on the posts. So far, I haven't been booted off today. Yesterday it could have been because of the weather - we were in the area that had the pop-up thunderstorms. We didn't get anything major, but we did get a nice amount of rain.

The natives are restless - which means Bo wants to be fed. I'm going to take care of the fur kids and then get ready for work.

I feel like I haven't been keeping up enough here... Noel is CRAZY and keeps me on my toes (can you believe he'll be 1 in about 3 weeks?!! It went too fast!)... hard to sit and read through everything I'd like to! I dream of drinking my coffee when it's still hot but I do enjoy the craziness!

Another hot and muggy one on tap with a predicted high of 99 degrees this afternoon. It's supposed to be a touch better tomorrow at 97 but still nasty.
Currently, we have 78 degrees here in the capital city with a limited chance of rain.

Well, we may be having a Muggy Monday but I hope it's Marvelous, anyway!

Well my sister is back in the ER. She was starting to have a hard time breathing so she finally decided to go in. They are doing x-rays right now looking for a blood clot and giving her a breathing treatment. Hopefully they figure something out.

Well another work week is upon us, sure hope it is better than last week. Oh by the way, I am STILL waiting to get on first shift. I was told I was getting it way back in January, they just can't seem to hire anybody worth a darn, a new guy is starting today, but I don't know if he is working in my department.

Welcome to Monday everyone!

Just got back from dropping Ash and William off at daycare. Its a crisp 68F outside right now. Wish it would stay that way! I have been trying to submit to the MMC cookbook but it wont let me. Either says I'm not a platinum member or that I have to wait 5 minutes. I messaged Jeff so hopefully I can get mine in! Watched a Charlie Brown Thanksgiving and Great Pumpkin yesterday with William. My In-Laws came over in the morning for a little visit. This weekend my Mom, Sister and little niece are coming to visit. We are busy every weekend this month. First weekend in September we are going to visit my Dad in his new house! I have been seeing more fall stuff in the Michaels flyers these days. Keeping an eye out at Walmart too. They should have fall stuff in any day now. Well off I go. Soon it will be time to go to work! Have a great day everyone!

Good morning, Christmas family --- Still weird here. --- Still having to use a proxy server to get on MMC --- But there are many more important things going on than this issue --- Made, I hope you sis will be okay. Good for your mother !! ---- As far as I can tell, it is not just your hospital --- the practice of medicine in a lot of cases is just that --- PRACTICE !!! ---- Good grief !! --- I am not even a doctor or medically trained and I know you DONT--- send someone who is having trouble breathing home..----- My sister and I -- finally got to go see the ornaments together -- It is always wonderful seeing her but we wound up getting into an argument -- about politics ---- something so stupid nobody should even waste their breath on it --- !! I dont even know what precipitated the discussion --- I just know that I feel something got destroyed between us because of it ---- I just should have kept quiet and not voiced my opinion ---- Snow In Texas --- I hope you get first shift soon !! There is NOTHING -- Like working a shift that doesn't suit you !! --- I learned that from struggling with--- night shift.. My sisters xray came back okay and now they are doing blood work. They wanted to send her home but my mom went off on them so they are running some more tests.

The ER doctor said that she basically didn't know and sent my sister home. She said that she could see that something was going on in the blood work but didn't know what. I am beginning to think that the doctors at my local hospital are incompetent.

This is making my blood boil! I have gone through this merry go round too many times! I have had some heart issues of irregular heart beat, go to the er just to have them send me home. They would say everything is fine. I DON'T FEEL FINE! My heart would be jumping all over the place and it would cause me to lose my breath. I remember laying in a bed hooked up to heart monitors not facing the monitor but my mom and niece was there looking at it. Every time I told them I felt my heart jumping they said the monitor was all over the place. The reason why I wouldn't look at the monitor is to prove that I wasn't watching and waiting for it to jump all over the place then complain (I hope that makes sense). Then after an hour of it, the doctor comes in and says all looks good, go home. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!!!! This happened several times and it was scary. I was glad that they said I am ok but please tell me I am not making this up and what I can do to help it stop! I had no reason to make this up, it was a very scary feeling!

After years of suffering through this I finally had a cardiologist explain to me what was going on and that I am in no danger but at least he saw it on the stress test he gave me and believed me. Somehow after years of dealing with it I don't have this ongoing problem anymore. Not sure what I did but it could be the way I take care of myself now. I still have it on occasions but not like I use to.

There are other things I have had going on and finally took matters in my own hands when Dr's would say, "I don't know" and go holistic to cure my ailments or at least try! I have had some success through diet change, supplements and exercise. I know I mentioned this before but through research I cured my stomach ailments when Dr's would say, "I don't know".

They should have kept your sister overnight for observation. That's it? They see something in the blood work and that's it??? Send her home? I think more test should be done to figure out what is wrong with her blood. You don't want to mess around with the heart.

I am not saying all Dr's. are incompetent but it is frustrating when you deal with one that runs one test say everything is alright and done. I have had some very good Dr's. that listen.

Sorry I am long winded but I know what your sister is dealing with and I know she is frustrated. I hope she gets an answer. Keep us posted!

Ok, I'm done! Time to think Christmas thoughts. =)

I know how frustrating that can be. It seems to me, too, that if they see "something going on" they'd admit her and keep an eye on things instead of sending her home to await developments. I know some hospitals have a shortage of beds, but really ... a few times Mr. was in the ER they put him on a gurney and parked him in the hallway if they didn't have enough beds, but at least he was where he could get prompt medical attention. I hope you get some answers soon, made.

Last night I was picking up my daughter from work at 11 and passing a building near downtown noticed that there was a bunch of smoke on top of it. This is an older building so I first thought chimney, but no, it was all over the roof and getting thicker and there was a glow along with it. So I call 911 to get the fire department down there. By the time they get there the smoke is gone, as is the glow that came with it.
I showed them where I saw this happening.
Just then he gets a call on his radio...they are filming something on the roof that included a scene with a smoke machine!
I apologized for having them come for no reason and he told me it was ok, they were happy it was nothing and I was right to call when I saw the smoke. (we don't get much excitement here, they probably just liked getting out for awhile!)

You did the right thing, anyway---and provided a little excitement for a dull evening!

What does everyone do on Christmas Eve DAY? I feel like I don't "utilize" that day enough.

There's just two of us, so mostly we just hang around the house, maybe watch a few Christmas DVDs. I check in with MMC when the traffic lets me! Later in the day we mosey downstairs and thread up the projector with our favorite Christmas Eve reels.

It is always wonderful seeing her but we wound up getting into an argument -- about politics ---- something so stupid nobody should even waste their breath on it --- !! I dont even know what precipitated the discussion --- I just know that I feel something got destroyed between us because of it ---- I just should have kept quiet and not voiced my opinion ----

Call her up! That's your sister and best friend and she will listen. Make an agreement to disagree on politics. It's never worth arguing over it because no one EVER WINS! I am sure you both will work it out. It would be sad not to over that subject. (((hugs)))

You know I was flipping around the radio today and I said to my wife I can't wait until these stations play all Christmas music again, she agreed, I think because it is the only music we agree on.

It's funny how we can put on a cd or go to an online Christmas radio station (MCR) anytime to listen to Christmas music but it's just so cool when the radio starts playing music! You know you are finally there near Christmas!

I just wanna say how much I love this place!! When I log on, I feel the Christmas Cheer

Oh boy! What fun! We should break a record here with the most consecutive days of 100+ temps. Back in 1980 we had 42 in a row, this year we should have at least 44 in a row, maybe more! How exciting! Blah!

A friend of ours at church suffered a heat stroke Friday due to working in this heat. He is going back to work today. I don't think it's such a good idea! I worry about all my friends and family who have to work in this heat.

Good Monday morning, my Christmas friends!

Sorry, I was AWOL yesterday. We had a lot going on. Most of Nancy's family was at our house all afternoon with a pool party for the kids, then we grilled steaks for Nancy's parent's anniversary. It was a great evening, but I was glad to take a shower to wash off all the sweat and grill smoke. Whew!

I hope I can work on the deck some this afternoon. We'll see.

They basically just don't care unless your dying. As soon as they see that it's not life threating they send you home and tell you to call your doctor here. Of course the doctor keeps telling my sister if she feels like she is getting worse she should go to the ER.


My sister called her doctor again this morning and is going in at 2:45 to see what she says today.
