Hi guys!!! I was so excited last night when my husband came in from out back and showed me a picture of our first PUMPKIN growing!!! Yahoo!

I finally got to Michael's over the weekend and loooved seeing all the spooky decorations and CHRISTMAS!!! I was beaming! There was a woman walking by, scoffing, saying, "It's only AUGUST! Ugh!" WHat a Grinch, huh!? :-)

Happy Monday, Christmas family!!!

I had a late start again today and have another busy day on tap - working all three jobs today. I will be listening to Christmas music as I work and it will make the day quite merry!

Have a Marvelously Merry Monday!!!!!!

Hi everyone... So this weekend we went to Greenport, NY on Saturday and had a bully time!!! It is such a friendly port town, we walked around but a glowing fish to put on the mentle. We ate fish sandwich and thre is a brewery so we went in for a tasting and met a family in from Wisconsin!!! It was so cool (they said I had a "New York" accent) hmmm, I am not too sure of that... Tee hee.... We had so much fun, we listened to the bands and just had a great time. Yesterday we finally broke down and bought a new computer and a tablet!!! I am way excited we pick it up today as they are taking all the info from out old PC and set it up on the new PC!!!! Wooo Hoooo.... Also, because it poured all day yesterday (no kidding we had something like 10 inches of rain) I baked Irish Soda Bread for the 1st time and OH my was it yummy!!!!! But, I missed touching base with all of you hope you all enjoyed your weekend and it was blessed with all good things!!!

As for National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation - I hate to admit on such a forum, but I have never seen that!!! I know that is probably blasphemy for a Christmas lover to say, but it is the truth. Maybe this season I will finally watch it!

~Laney

Don't worry, Laney, I haven't either. But to make up for it, I've seen quite a few films that most people haven't!

Good Sunday morning, my Christmas friends!

I ALMOST FINISHED THE DECK YESTERDAY!!!! Just a few little odds & ends to tie up. Wow, that heat almost got me a few times, but I'd go inside and cool off a little, then get back to work. I can't believe I'm in the short rows now (that's southern for almost finished. When farming, when you get to the short rows in the field, you're almost done)!!

We just got home from church, so now we're getting ready to go to mom's for dinner (again, that's lunch for you non-southerners!). After that, we're going to Lowe's and Walmart to get a few things.

I hope y'all have a great day!! cheesy
Congratulations. It is always rewarding to finish a project.

We had a great weekend. It is finally cooling off with a high of 79 forecast for today. We had our "back to school bash" at church last night with games and a cookout. We also had our annual prayer walk through the elementary, middle, & high school. It is good to keep our teachers and kids covered in prayer. All the churches in the county take part. We only have 1 elementary, middle, & high school.

Have a good Monday.

Good New Week Morning, Friends!
(And they seem to be coming faster and faster, don't they?)

We have now passed into the final quarter of our Season count - and just look how close we are to our NEXT Milestone:
Days to the Season: 90
Days to Christmas Day: 132
In a mere 10 days we will reach the 2/3 mark to Christmas Day.
(SINGLE digits from tomorrow!)
At that point we will have passed 14 of 20 Milestones markers on our march back to Christmas.
Zoundzippers!!

Finally a cooler day is predicted where we will actually top out below 90 degrees. Hopefully, the humidity will moderate also and we could be in for a pleasant first half of the week before stronger rain predictions arrive.
Currently, we are at a beautiful 70 degrees under sunny skies.
(You can't get much better than that in mid August around here!)

You have a Marvelous Monday, Everyone!

Good morning friends! I have been growing more and more frustrated with this whole "not being able to get here" problem I'm having. Hopefully, I can get this resolved tonight.

About to head off to school! Hope you have a great day!

I hope you can get it figured out friend!!!!!!!

Oh...there is this particular house where I live that always has their Christmas decorations out first. Well - as we drove by this house yesterday - I saw Santa on their lawn...and then I saw other Christmas characters on their lawn (set us as they always do every year)!!! Now...these people quite obviously love Christmas too! It was awesome! I got sooooo excited!!!

I stand and applaud these people!

They sound like my kind of people!!!!!!!

aOff to Toronto again, my brother is unexpectedly coming for a visit this Thursday from British Columbia (after driving across country to move his ex to some where in south Georgia) My daughter has an appointment in London, the car alternator died yesterday, I have a birthday cake to make for Friday, the family wants to now get together for a BBQ so everyone can at least say hi to Rick when he is here, I have to go to Toronto 2 more times, I need to do some laundry and pack before leaving for Vermont on Sunday.
I'm tired just talking about my week!

I hope you get a chance to rest!!!!!!!

Some people will just never get it. :-?

Good Morning Everyone!!!!!! It is a beautiful morning here in central Indy. I just got done watching the memorial service they had at the fairgrounds this morning. I have to agree with the governor and say that it makes me proud to be a hoosier every time they show the video of all of the people running to towards the stage to help after if fell down. There are still a lot of people in critical condition at the hospitals though that could use your thoughts and prayers. My plan for this morning is to kick back and watch the nascar race that got rained out yesterday. Then I have some errands to run. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We woke up this morning and went to church and then came home for lunch. After that, I dropped DD off at her cousin's house while I went and got my massage! It was really one of the best ones I've ever had. They could not play my Christmas cd (not surprised) but, on their music, "Greensleeves" did play so I sang "What Child is This" in my head. That was just the icing on the cake cheesy

Anyways, then I picked up both DD and my niece and brought them back to my house for a sleep over. They are so sweet together! We're about to have a night time snack and then get them into bed. Then I'm climbing into my bed with a couple of magazines that I'm behind on and just relaxing.
Sounds like a fantastic weekend! I think I need a massage, my back is aching!
Well, I'm caught up on the postings and must issue a hearty "Thanks!" and a tip of the hat to Christmasstar for stepping up to do the count the last 2 mornings --- and for her resounding recognition of the 3/4 Season mark.
Nice!
Christmasstar was AWESOME!
Good morning friends! I have been growing more and more frustrated with this whole "not being able to get here" problem I'm having. Hopefully, I can get this resolved tonight.
Ugh! I hope you get it resolved soon!

That is fantastic! I wish they were my neighbor. =)

Grats on the pumpkin!

I am not sure why anyone is offended when they see Christmas stuff early. I am not offended if they don't like Christmas but let us who do enjoy it. If they don't like Christmas items, just ignore it. No one is forcing them to shop down those aisles!

Good Monday morning, my Christmas friends!

I'm still tickled with myself for gettting so close to finished on my deck this weekend! We went to Lowe's and picked up the last few little things I need for it. Then in Walmart I found some rope lights to go on the handrails. Those rope lights they sell at Christmas are, like, $40 for 20 feet. Well, over in the camping section, they have 40 feet ropes for $19. They are there so folks can string them along the RV canopy, and stuff like that. I picked up a 40' section to see how it looks in the dark.

At 11pm last night, a guy knocked on my front door. He was stuck in the ditch on a nearby road and wanted me to pull him out. Rough looking guy in a tank top, with tattoos all over his neck and arms. Anyway, apparently he was knocking on every door till he got to me. Most of the other homes are widowed women who wouldn't answer (smart!). I figured I better help, if for no other reason than to keep him from scaring any other old ladies. So, I picked him and his girlfriend up in my truck and took them out to the dirt road they were on and pulled them out. Nancy was worried to death, but I felt a need to get them out of Bellville. And I didn't have any trouble out of them. They asked what they owed me, and of course I told them "nothing." And they thanked me and went on their way.

I don't mean to disaparage folks with tattoos, but they have to know that if you have them up one side of your neck, down the other, all over both arms, etc., it's going to cause folks to look at you sideways.

Anyway, I hope y'all have a great day!

My son-in-law got 4 free tickets to the Dallas Cowboys pre season game this Sunday night and I am invited!

In other news, Wayne got offered to teach adult Sunday school full time at our church because ours has decided to step down. Wayne already filled in for him from time to time and now the class has nominated Wayne for the job. To make it easier they will have an assistant if Wayne can't be there on certain days. I think Wayne should go for it but he hasn't fully decided yet.

I hope you all have a great day!

Good morning, Christmas family

Well. It's here. My new router. Why do I feel like I hear the music from "Mission Impossible" playing.......Should you decide to accept this mission.....I will let you know what happens !!!

On another note. School is going to start soon and in appreciation of teachers I wanted to post something. I am thinking of two particular teachers of course, our own dear Seawaters and the wife of Xmas365. Hats off to these wonderful ladies and all teachers everywhere !!

“TEACHERS”

Teachers
Paint their minds
and guide their thoughts
Share their achievements
and advise their faults.
Inspire a Love
of knowledge and truth
As you light the path
Which leads our youth.
For our future brightens
with each lesson you teach
Each smile you lengthen
Each goal you help reach.
For the dawn of each poet
each philosopher and king
Begins with a Teacher
And the wisdom they bring.

I am so behind.. I must get in here at least twice a day to read the updates and going ons of my Christmas Clan ;)

Hope everyone is having a great day! Today alongside my brain I have AUTUMN BRAIN! Bring on the scarecrows and pumpkins :)

Yes! Yes! I second that! I've been ready for fall since June. I need to go home and get out my fall candles today, just so I can be ready.

Good afternoon my Christmas loving friends!!! :-) Hope you all had a great weekend!

Bradmac - very nice of you to help out a guy in need. Isn't that terrible that these days we have to second guess every stranger that asks for help (tatoos or no tatoos) - there are some scary people out there! I bet your wife was scared to death & the widows everywhere on your block are thanking you! :) Job well done!

So next week school starts here. Where oh where did summer go? BUT I am starting to get that fall'ish homey/cozy feeling! I'm ready for fall scented candles, soups, bonfires, football & I am loving these cooler mornings! Funny how in the spring I can not wait to be able to walk in shorts/t-shirts in the mornings & now I'm excited to be wearing capri's/long sleeve T's again - sweatshirts soon to follow!

It's my hubby's b-day today so I'm baking his favorite cake after work today (his Grandma's spice cake recipe w/ penuche icing) & we are having stuffed ribeye steak w/ roasted red potatoes! Can't hardly wait til supper time! I'm hoping our friends can come over to join us - as there are 4 steaks in the package & it will be a surprise for him! :sparkle:

Make it a great day!
