Well...on this note, I turned 40 in September (big gulp!) & I feel better now than I did in my 30's & probably as good as in my 20's. When I was 37 I started eating better & working out every day! I feel great! I think the "trick" is getting & staying active - don't every quit!!
That's it! I'm 47, and I feel great!

Well, except for my lower back...and the arthritis in my shoulder...and my left knee is making this weird popping sound...and....

Nah, just kidding! When I was in my 20's, my parents were in their 40's, and I thought they were old. Now, 40 is the new 30!

Oh yes. Its my 7th year anniversary here!

Happy Anniversary!!!

I don't know how many years I've been around... It's been a long while ~ back at Christmas.com! I should look into that!

Good evening, everyone! I'm just getting up-was in bed all day today with a kidney stone. They're vicious little boogers, even if they are tiny. Spent the day curled up with my Halloween quilt, Christmas music, and cranberry juice, which made me feel slightly better. Hopefully it's all over for the moment

Awww ouch! hope you feel better soon prayers go out for you

Oh and what is all this "talk" from these young-ins??? In my 30's I am tried, well I turned 40 back in Feb, I feel as good no wait I think I feel better then when I was 25, because now I eat right, I don't want to hear anymore of that you are in some of the best times of your life... Ah, as my Nana would say these crazy young-ins, they act old and they are mere babes, tee hee...

You are right, I complain too much about being in my 30's but it is my own fault, I keep trying to live like I did in my 20's but my body don't appreciate it much these days lol I need to start eating healthier.

TGIF everyone! Hope everyone is having a great Friday and looking forward to a great weekend!

My internet has been glitchy the last few week, keeps cutting out and I have to reset my router several times a day, called Verizon about it they ran a line test and said there is a line problem on my end and have to schedule a technician visit which at the earliest would be next week sometime. :(

I am very glad this week is almost over been running from one thing to another this week trying to get caught up with everything, thankfully the excitement of the approaching holiday season is giving me the energy to get through it. I am looking forward to holing up in the house this weekend, shutting off my cell phone watching hockey and football and immersing myself in Christmas music, movies and projects and finishing the revamping of my website for The Christmas Station and launching it.

I been craving some Starbucks Christmas Blend coffee but they don't have it available yet on their website, hope it is available soon and they don't change the blend too much from last years! I'm also craving french fries dipped in a frosty at Wendy's....I think that is going to be lunch today :cheesy:

Not much else going on for me, thankfully. Hope everyone has a very merry day filled with the Christmas spirit! I'm off to catch up on the fun and games section here a little before I get back to work. :tree:

Happy Friday everyone! I'm doing much better today, and I made it back to work. We're having thunderstorms and heavy rainfall, forecast was for light showers and then sun. I haven't seen the sun yet, but there's still most of the day ahead of us. Hopefully it will be a pleasant weekend.

Good Friday morning, my Christmas friends!

I went to a masonic lodge meeting last night after getting a letter that I was to receive my 25 year service pin. 25 years! I never attend anymore, I just pay my dues, but my dad loved lodge and I joined to be with him. He was so proud! It was really great of them to award this to me. I didn't know any of the members, though. LOL

While I was there, we got some kind of flash t-storm. The sun was shining and the sky was clear when I went into the meeting, then the bottom fell out. We can always use more rain!

I'm working at the store tomorrow. I hope y'all have a great day! cheesy

thanks everyone for thinking about my mom.

Mom's surgery is done. She had to have stitches put in.
Also she has a dangerous amount of pressure build up as a result of the surgery. Doc has put her on 4 kinds of drops and an oral meds to try to lower the pressure. She has to go into his office on Saturday morning to have it checked again.
Doc says he will be on call for her and if she has any pain she is to go immediately to the hospital where her will meet her.

Normally this is not a problem and goes away in a couple of days, but mom also has Pseudoexfoliation Glaucoma [Glaucoma may develop as a result of the breakdown and flaking off of the colored material (pigment) found in the colored part of the eye (iris). This type of secondary glaucoma is called pigmentary glaucoma. Another flaky material (of unknown origin) that can deposit in the anterior part of the eye can cause a similar type of secondary glaucoma called exfoliation syndrome (pseudoexfoliation).] which is already causing a problem with eye pressure.

I am taking her to my brothers place for a few days as they live only 10 min from the hospital (I am 45 min away)

Thinking about you & your Mom! I will continue to pray for her!

I hear ya about the muggy-ness, ga! I think it should be illegal to be this hot in mid October!

I'm really not big on Halloween decorations but I LOVE Fall ones! I'm still trying to find Autumn mugs. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!

I found some at a Dollar Tree. Really cute mugs & dinnerware that have fall leaves & acorns on them =)

Good evening, everyone! I'm just getting up-was in bed all day today with a kidney stone. They're vicious little boogers, even if they are tiny. Spent the day curled up with my Halloween quilt, Christmas music, and cranberry juice, which made me feel slightly better. Hopefully it's all over for the moment, and I can go back to real life tomorrow. I hate being out of commission this time of year- there's so many pumpkin stands to visit, and all the Christmas things are coming out in the stores. It's not a good time to be stuck at home!

Thinking of you~ Glad to hear you're feeling better today!

Hey me too, I like house mayo on my fries!!! But never in a shake, might be good I always say you should try it, if you like shakes and you like fries why not right!!!

I'll have to try that, I like ranch with my fries & pizza!

What a crazy day at work, had an OSHA inspection, ever since the bank fire& those crane accidents it is crazy. I am all for safety, these inspection make me nervous though if they find even a cigarette (? SP) butt you can be fined & receive a violation, it can get very nervous we enforce the no smoking but some people will still try, they get caught and can be fined and lose their job. But with all that we came through great, at least on my floors, YAY!!!! I owe everyone an update on the Christmas Angel, but I am so tired I wanted to check in as I just was't able to earlier.

Congrats on a good inspection!! I work for a GC, so I completely understand.

Good evening, dear Christmas family

I just got done working but I still have to work tomorrow and maybe Saturday - the company is calling for 8 hours mandatory this weekend and since the pay period ends on the 15th, that means Friday and Saturday I have to do a total of 8 more hours......Oh well...

Wish is still good......He is laying peacefully asleep by me as I type....I don't remember him getting old.. Time passed so quickly....

How were the Pines on Wednesday ??? I missed out again !

I guess since I can't really think of anything to say I will say goodnight ........praying for all who have illness or ill family members xoxo

Sweet Christmassy dreams dear Christmas family xo

Very happy that Wish is doing well & sleeping peacefully! What a sweet baby.Time sure flies when you're having fun, doesn't it? Makes you want to freeze time. Please give him a hug for us

Good Morning, friends!!

Thank God it's Friday!!!!!!!
Holy cow, it's been quite a week!

I'm going to have lunch with a girlfriend tomorrow, maybe do a little Christmas browsing, and then head home. And that's the last time I plan to leave the house for the rest of the weekend! Cannot wait to relax and sleep in!

Sending special prayers up for our sick friends, family, and furbabies.

Thinking of you all & hoping you have a fabulous Christmassy weekend!

here in Ontario it is illegal to smoke in the work place. Smokers go outside and have to be 90 feet from an entrance.
There was a lot of whining and complaining at first, but it is making for healthier workplaces.

Same here, 'Star. It is a total wet and chilly fall day here in Ottawa. I think we're done with our humidity for the year...
I am so glad the humidty is gone too! Helps to get one in the mood for Christmas even more.( as if we need help for that!)

Hello, you sound SO busy!!! I say do it!!! Put out the decorations!!!!

ridiculously warm for mid october,,, doesnt feel like fall here- its been in the 80s..

YABBA!

Yes, here too we are at 74 today, and muggy as all get out!!! Ewww...

Well this gives me hope! I ate horribly in the 20's,I was actually underweight I ate one meal a day and lived on sugary drinks...in my 30's I had to really start working out to keep off wieght gain..but I still felt better I think back then..not sure..but I know I had more energy in my 20's. I will officially leave the mid 30's in December and enter **gulp** late 30's and will be 37! You give me hope that I can still feel good the next few years...I have always heard from parents and friends that life truly does not begin until 40!!

Well, to be fair, I too was very bad in my 20's - I NEVER and I mean NEVER want to smell or see Ramen Noddles again... And let's not get into the cheep beer in college... Let's just say I had some of the best times I still do not remember HA - HA - HA... Ok, well, back to today... I started taking care of myself, I mean really taking care of myself in my early 30's, and a few years ago maybe 3 joined Weight Watchers... I have a lot more energy and I am an avid hiker and MT climber... That is why I never post on the weekends, you will find me all over Bear MT in Herriam Park NY or Montauk in the Potamuk Path. I also took up MT Biking and compeletly enjoy that as well. I find the more I do the more energy I have, carzy but the harder the path or MT the more pumped I feel afterwards. Yes Big Dawg, you will see things get sweeter with time just like a fine wine!!! Tee hee... But, I also think now I came really apprecaite it where maybe in my 20's and early 30's I wouldn't have. Wait till Lil Dawg gets here, then let's talk about tired!!!

Ho ho ho merry FRIDAY!
Its raining cats and dogs! OR as Marci from Peanuts says "Its raining dogs and birds sir". LOL. So. William. William, William. He is getting very mouthy and hitting. My Wife and I wont stand for that at all. Looks like there are going to be a lot of talking to and time outs unfortunately. But onto the good news. Less then a month till the Christmas stuff goes up! Going with friends tomorrow out to lunch. Should be fun! Well back to work I go. Have a great day everyone!

Tee Hee here too dogs and brids, but it is 74 outside it is suppose to be 64!!!!

Not sure if I am considered a young-in, but my reasons for being tired are because I am on the run all day and then in the gym for at least two hours for at least four times a week. On top of that, I just finished practicing twice a week for two hours, too. I greatly enjoy my life and would not have it any other way, but I also enjoy my sleep. Sleep is fantastic - I am sure that Crown would agree with me on that one!

Good for you Brent!!! It is awesome your commitment to your team and yourself!!! A tough schedule for sure. I understand please sleep is one of the things I too enjoy it as long as I get 5 to 6 hours I am golden, I can do the trails and the MT no problem. Work makes me a little tired so now I workout after I am home as then it gives me that boost of energy I like in the evenings. I too understand you I greatly enjoy my life and the things I am able to do all because I took a commitment to take care of myself and all the possiblities it has given me... I now can say I COMPELETLY get that song it is a Wonderful World and I do not plan of missing any of it :)

CJ - try adding water to you day, I kid you not it was the first step I did, I started slow, you don't have to go crazy, just add one healthy thing to your diet and reduce the bad stuff a little at a time and before you know it you are doing it. One tip WW gave us is park far away from the store you are going too and walk, it adds up... Good luck!!!
