Good afternoon,

I have my chicken in the crockpot cooking for my in laws, it smell great, almost holiday-like. We ran to Kmart to pay our next layaway payment, they have almost all their Christmas stuff out, I am sure losing most of a week without power put them behind a bit, but as I have said before they have the best decorations around here. Then we watched Farewell Mr Kringle, and then cartoon Grinch, LC is my little clone when it comes Christmas decorations and shows, he watched the Grinch with the cutest little smirk on his face.

Have a great day!

Oh yeah,

I forgot to say, the Sunday was full of ads for Christmas ads, the big ones were the Target and Walmart toy catalogs, we will hand them to the boys so they can cut out what they want and glue them to paper and then we hand them to their grandparents, so they can actually see what they want.

Christmas is getting so close I can smell it!

Good afternoon, everyone!

One month until we enter the Christmas Season! Excitement continues to build. I can't wait for the final countdown to the Christmas Season next Saturday evening. I hope that I can stay home to chime in the Season with everyone else on MMC! We'll see how my plans unfold, but my fingers are crossed that I can stay home!

It's another beautiful and sunny day in Ottawa. 11c right now. Much higher than seasonal. To be honest, it is not expected to look a lot like Christmas for the next few days. Double digits are forecasted late into the work week. Oh well, I'll enjoy it while it lasts!

Waiting for the Packers game to start in about two hours. Laundry is in the wash, too. It's a decent Sunday. Wish I could join you all for the chat tonight, but I have a flag football scrimmage. Should be fun! Have a great Sunday, everyone!

Brent - the UK chat is due to start in about 1/2 hour if you're still around!

CM3 - you'll be able to get the end of the Eastern chat and the beginning of the Pacific one!!!!

I'm so happy to be posting in November. You guys that keep this site alive and merry on a daily basis year round are wonderful!

Well I live in Montreal, and there is ice upon the pond, going to be in the low 50's for a few days, but I'm lookn forward to the subzero weather! YES!!!!!!!!!!! With 5 feet of snow.........YES!!!!!!!! I lived in Florida, (gulf coast) for a few years, and you can keep all that HEAT........ugh.........I survive better in cold weather......I'm hot blooded, so I heat up rather quickly, so the cooler to colder the better!!!!!!!! LET it SNOW, LET it SNOW, LET it SNOW!!!!!!!! I had moved here from TO back in the 80's why? Because Montreal gets a lot more snow!!!!!!! Let's face it the cold preserves us better than heat! LOL.
I'm just a 'four season kind of guy'!
Later......

Ah Touche' I hear ya dude I would love to get 4 distinct seasons.I would LOVE a white Christmas...but can you keep a great tan 9 months out of the year though?....

I caught up on the Countdown and it only took me a couple of hours what with dial-up and working, too

Instead of ham we got baked chicken but that is great because I like chicken better anyway, it's kinda cloudy here this afternoon only 2.5 more hours of daylight left today as well. We are really speeding ahead to the shortest day of the year Dec21..and of course Christmas. There were sometimes this year I did not think it would ever get here, and just like everything else time does march on,but why is it that time flies when your havin fun..but times of misery draggggg on!?
on to more positive things.....my vandalized car will be fixed by tomorrow! that means no more driving the tiny LeCar or yugo or whatever it is...does anyone remember those cars in the 80's called LeCar? maybe I have completly gone mad but I do remember them and they were small and I was a kid and you know now how when your a kid everything seems larger than it really is! but I digress...have a great afternoon everyone!

Not me, I would probably cry through the whole thing. *pass the tissue*

I am not here to put down hunters. If it's what you enjoy then go for it. I am just too darn sensitive and cannot watch anyone hunt animals and couldn't do it myself. It's a me thing!

I'm the same way, CAH - I usually skip over the hunting posts, that is how much it bothers me.

Good evening,

We are in full recovery mode at work, work was closed for 3 days with no power. I have thrown away so much food the last 3 days, including over 3,000lbs of turkeys. Deliveries returned yesterday we have tried getting caught up for the weekend. The last week has been hell with the power outage, and the "cancelling of Halloween." The boys were so disappointed that the town cancelled trick or treating, but there was/is so many trees and wires down throughout the town that is all they could do. We took them to the Holyoke Mall for trick or treating but everyone in the area had the same idea, you couldn't move in that place. We lost some food, but we used snow to save the rest of it, considering we lost ALL of our food back in June after the tornado, we could not afford to lose everything now. The nights were chilly/freezing, did not sleep well trying to be sure the boys were warm, we ended up sleeping with one or the other every night to keep them warm. I finally got a shower last night, you probably could've smelled me from wherever you are until then. cheesy We only got about 8-9 inches of snow but the trees were destroyed all over the place. The things are getting back to normal around here, Christmas commercials are coming fast and furious now, Music Choice is playing the best music of all. Day off after tomorrow, I can't wait.

Have a great night, it's great to be back.

Smart to put your food in the snow! I hope the recovery goes well - great to see you back on here!

Mee, mee, mee! I watched Mrs. Miracle...watching Most Wonderful Time of they Year now!

I would be if the channel was among our free ones. Loved The Most Wonderful Time of the Year, but the first Mrs. Miracle was just okay. The second one, Call Me Mrs. Miracle was so much better, imho.

A weird experience this evening ...

Mr. got a bunch of DVDs off eBay of various 1950s-'60s variety shows. We pulled one out at random this evening of "Sing Along with Mitch." It turned out to be a Christmas show. It reminded me that my dad had once mentioned a Mitch Miller show he had seen years ago in which Leslie Uggams sang a beautiful version of "Mary's Boy Child." It moved me to find the sheet music, and I sang it in a high school concert one year. I remarked that it would be wild if this were that same show he had mentioned. And it was! What are the odds of that happening?? What an incredible coincidence that was.

That is so cool!

Farewell Mr. Kringle is a wonderful one!! One of my new favorites !!! I don't know if they will show it this year but there was a new on Hallmark last year called The Santa Suit......It was really good, it stars Kevin Sorbo.....xo

I loved Farewell, Mr. Kringle!

I got back from Mass about a half hour ago and actually understood the whole message of the two readings, Gospel, AND Homily. For me to "get" all 4 is like one in a million for me.

Right now I'm watching "Most Wonderful Time of the Year" and I just adore Henry Winkler. I think I like him more now than during his Fonzi days.

He was perfect in that movie - so adorable!

For all those who are having a hard time, perk up and smile. Those who are sick- I am sending you a virtual cup of soup.

SEND COFFEE!!

YABBA!

Yes - send coffee!!!!

Here in Stratford it is a lovely 14c, also with blue skies and lots of sunshine!
Possible snow on Friday.

I love coming here every day, the only times I haven't been here are the days I couldn't control being here. I even made it here less than 24 hours after the tornado hit back in June. I was lost during the power outage last week. cheesy
