Good afternoon Christmas family !

Biding my time until work. The lady with the puppy (Lola) is supposed to call me tomorrow and tell me what time she is coming on Saturday. I feel bad in a way because her 7 year old little boy doesn't want to give up Lola. I feel like I am breaking a little one's heart and I don't want to do that....but Monica says they just cannot keep Lola because of her husband's allergies. Brandon (the 7 year old) is coming with his mommy on Saturday and I don't mind at all....I just dont know what to say to him........

Wish is STILL doing good !! I can't believe it. Thank God in heaven and all the prayers of my Christmas family ((Hugs)) you are all so amazing and wonderful. I hope my present furchildren will accept Lola. I know in time they will.

I hope everyone has a wonderful and Christmassy day xo

((Gabulldawg)) ....praying for your mom and dad and all your family xo

Sugar - I hope DH feels better soon..Thinking of you and your family and of course, Ella xo

Bye for now Christmas family xo

Hi snowflake! Actually, I'm going for the Christmas designs when I get my nails done in December...this time around I got a dark burgandy color and the design on my big toes is gold and white. It's pretty awesome. The Christmas music at Kohl's grows by the day! There are a few songs I could do without and some of my favorites haven't started yet but we are all still loving it! It is VERY hard to work at Hallmark and not buy everything! I think I narrowed down our ornaments for this year to the Christmas house ornament that came with the VIP package from Open House weekend, and Snap Happy Friends that has the polar bear and penguin taking a picture. That is SO me and my friends!

Hey V :) Those ornament choices are great! I ended up not finding a few that I wanted and was so tired from the week, I didn't want to go to another location, so I ended up going in a different direction & got the Santa Countdown to Christmas that tells a story each day- love it!
Your nails sound so pretty & festive!!

Add one to the needle-hating!! I hate them so much that if I'm violently sick and I have the option to have medicine by needle (that will make me better by the end of that day) or pill (that will take a week to get better), I will take the pill EVERY SINGLE TIME! I also think it's one of the reasons I never want to have babies...I don't want the IV's in my arm! My arms get numb when I even TALK about needles...YUCK!

My sister has always had a fear of needles. When we were younger, and had to go get shots, 'lil sis (me) always went first. I just had bloodwork done on Monday, and they used my right arm this time. I have a crazy bruise, and it still hurts. So weird, usually doesn't bother me much, but they had to take 7 vials this time. I told my sister about it over the phone, and she said she felt like passing out just thinking about it, lol.

Good evening, Christmas family

Just got finished working about an hour ago....Still nothing from GAbulldawg I see......Gosh....I am so worried about him just like everyone else here.....xo

Ms. Christmas - What a horrible experience !! I am so glad you are back and I hope you feel better soon ! xo

Brad - LOVE your idea - Christmaspublican !!

Sugar - Sure hope your family is doing better xo

Lauriebear - So nice to see you again too ! Thanks for your wishes on my new baby xo

Made - I voted too !! xo

Seawaters - I hope you are feeling better as well. Surgery can be so tough to get over xo

Xmas- I am Jealous!! I wish I had some of my decorating at least started !!

Kimothy - I hope you are feeling well too ! - I hate taking pills ! In fact I have a tough time with them anymore if they are too big !

MerryCarey, Snowflake, Meceka, Christmas-A-Holic - Big ((HUGS)) to you as well xo

Hugs to you, too! Hope you didn't have to deal with too many goobers! xo

Christmasstar - Thank you again for such a wonderful post. I could NEVER write a special post !! I wish I had it within me to do so !

((Hugs)) to all the furkids - Harlowe, Ella, Snickers, Mouse, Palmer, Snowball, and all the furkids whose names I missed or dont know !!

Harlowe sending hugs to you & Ivy, Clancy, Wish, Smokey, and Lola (an early welcome)! xo

I hope everyone has a truly Christmassy evening - Praying for you Dawg xo

Goodnight Christmas Family xo

Hi every one, today is my boyfriends birthday, and tomorrow is my exam, so i'm glad and stressed at the same time off to study now, so that i as much as possible done before my boyfriend returns from work today
Have a very merry day!

* still sending good thoughts to gabulldawg of course!

Good luck on your exam, kerstig! Happy Birthday to your boyfriend!!

I just heard from Gabulldawg.

His father had a stroke while driving and will recover but he is not sure how well he will do during recovery. His mother was in the car and injured but she should be fine too.

He wanted me to pass this along and said he is thankful for everyone's concern. He will try to post later today and update all of you on the situation. He said he will also try to respond to everyone's messages as soon as he is able to.

Thanks for the update, CAH. Dawg & his family shall remain in my thougts & prayers. God bless them.

Good rainy morning! What a yucky looking day outside! Glad to be inside with a hot cup of joe! Looking forward to my trip to the Pines later today!!!

Binger - LOVELY post! Well said!

I'm thinking about ordering a Keurig coffee maker today. Do any of you have a Keurig? I'm debating between the Elite & the Platinum...leaning towards the platinum! I will probably keep it at work - then I won't have to run to the break room to warm my coffee several times a day!!! (can not drink luke warm coffee...)

Make it a great day my friends!!

Hey Holiday, I have the platinum Keurig and I love it! So convenient! My hubby doesn't drink much coffee, so it works perfect for me. There's so many coffee, tea, & hot chocolate brands & flavors to choose from. Really easy to care for as well. You'd love it =)

Gabulldawg. We all miss and love you! Prayers are bursting out of the message board to you. Glad we got an update too. God is watching out for you!

Well my van needs new break pads and drums (I think that's what its called). That will get fixed on Sunday. We have a big music box with bells called MR Christmas. It shows people skating on the inside and plays a million Christmas tunes. William always wants it on. He likes to spot the dog that rotates around inside too. He got really excited when he saw the Christmas lights on the house too! I wish I could put up more lights but I can't reach the top of my house. Where is Clarke Grizwold when you need him! Speaking of Clarke. I think I will watch Christmas Vacation tonight. Oh how I love that movie. Cant wait to bring William to see Santa! Should be interesting on how he will react. Well back to work I go. Hope everyone has a good day.
PS - Carl is handing out free candy canes today at the pines!!! *crunch crunch!*

Enjoy Christmas Vacation! Love that movie! I also love Mr. Christmas products, so magical. I have some of their Winter Wonderland pieces that I use w/ my village. I always wanted one of their music boxes, I can see why William is so mesmerized

Binger, thanks for the great post. Even though the Internet is the repository of plenty of thoughtless and even hateful things, it also makes possible the sort of Christmas community we share here, and for that I'm truly grateful. A few years ago I never heard of you, and now all of you are part of my life every day.

Well put, MerryCarey I feel the same way!

Wednesday ... kinda tired and blue. Both Mr. and I are working too hard, I think, both at work and on personal projects, and there aren't many opportunities to relax. I'm hoping that'll ease up before Thanksgiving, but in Mr.'s case---the evening and weekend work just keeps coming, and I haven't been able to spend an evening with him since Saturday.

Sorry you're feeling blue, hope you two can find time to turn the rest of the world off together & just relax. Hope you feel better, sending hugs.

Hi everyone! Hope this finds you all well and I hope you're all having a great day! Not much going on here today. DH is sick now. Geez...we just can't win in this house! He actually think he has food posioning, not anything the rest of us have had. When we were at TGIFriday's last night, he even made the comment to me, "This burger doesn't taste like it normally does." When we went to bed, he wasn't feeling all that great and now he's been up sick since 1:30 am. I feel really bad for him. He can't keep anything down and he's getting dehydrated. I did just go to the store and he's finally keeping some Gatorade down. I hope this helps.

Hope your DH is feeling better soon, sugar- food poisoning is the worst. I'll be thinking of you both!

Thank you for the update CAH, that is very sad news, prayers and thoughts going out to Dawg's family

Hi everyone, sorry I have not been around much the last week, been somewhat overwhelmed with work and stress, but I'm not letting it crush my Christmas spirit.

We missed you- sorry you're overwhelmed with work stress. Glad you're not letting it take over the spirit of the season! Hope it eases up soon!

:merry:

Good Wednesday morning, my Christmas friends!

Well, election day is behind me, and since there were no last-minute write-in candidates, and no angry mobs in the streets with torches and pitchforks, I am now the Mayor-Elect of Bellville, GA! Our present Mayor will keep the office until the end of the year. I'll be sworn in one day in the first week of January. Surreal.

Congratulations, yer honor!

Aw, sugar ... I hope ALL sickness soon leaves your house for a long, long, long, while! You've certainly had more than your share.

Hi everyone, sorry I have not been around much the last week, been somewhat overwhelmed with work and stress, but I'm not letting it crush my Christmas spirit.

I hope the overwhelming work and stress leave you soon ... good for you being able to keep up your Christmas spirit in the midst of it all.

Lastly, I had that GI appointment. The doctor explained the results that showed up in my September ultrasound (which lead to today's follow-up). He'd rather they do a non-invasive procedure (THANK GOD!) and see what that test results show and go from there. I'll be having an MRI on Tuesday which is (thankfully!) scheduled for AFTER work. Oh...and I also have to do some "collecting" and give it to LabCorp and then have them draw my blood.

Whew!

Good luck with the procedure and the MRI and everything else. The human body is a high-maintenance machine!

Congratulations, and best wishes for a successful term! I hope you find it very rewarding.

Look; here is an icon with your Town Crier, announcing your first ordinance!
:celebrate:

Hi friends!!

Hope you're all having a great Wednesday so far- half the work week is over! Woohoo!

Thinking of you all, each day I get more excited! I keep seeing Christmas commercials, and they malke me giddy  I finally saw the Hershey Kisses bells, I had been waiting for that one!

Have a merry, merry day!

See you at the Pines! I want one of those candy canes Undrtakr was talking about!

Haha. I can see your confusion!!! I had rotator cuff surgery on October 20 and eyelid surgery on November 2. Stupid, I know, to have two surgeries so close together!

ok, I am confused, if the

stitches are coming out of your eye tomorrow, why is your shoulder hurting?

Good Afternoon everyone! It's been a sleepy day for me. I heard the dog raising heck downstairs at 3:30 am, and (since Hubby works nights and I am alone in the house) I crept down very carefully and holding a large baseball bat....to find that the Cat had climbed the Christmas Tree (which has nothing on it yet), and was taunting the dog. After adjusting the difference between the children (Cat was sent back upstairs. Dog was mollified with treats), I tried to go back to sleep. No go. So I spent the rest of the night in my craft room putting my Christmas books in order. And reading them. Of course, the moment my alarm went off I was ready to go back to sleep. Came to work feeling like a leftover zombie from Halloween, and didn't help matters any by eating half a fried oyster po' boy for lunch. It was very yummy, but now I need a nap. Why don't work desks come with pillows? It would be very useful right now. Ah well, I guess I had better sneak some Christmas music on so I wake up a little bit.

Welcome back, Wizard. You are back at the right time with the special posts going on!

This is weird. I forgot my password and so I haven't been able to log in here for like over a year; managed to get it back through some trial and error with old email accounts. Not sure if anyone remembers me as I wasn't very active, but it is good to be back nonetheless. :)

I am a little saddened, nothing tragic! cheesy

I have an angel that I have put on top of my tree for the past 23 years and it has 10 miniature Christmas light bulbs that lights it up. I have NEVER had to replace 1 light bulb in the past 23 years. I just now I plugged it in, it lit up and all of them burned out at once! I am actually shocked it has lasted that long! It's also surprising knowing that my tree stays up 2 months straight every year and the lights have handled that!

I was trying to see how much longer the lights would last. Now if I can get a set of lights for my Christmas tree to last that long!

Forgot to add; In response to the thread about taxing Christmas Trees, did you hear that the US government is coming out with a new Tax form for 2012? It only has two lines, like so;

1. How much did you make last year?___________

2. Send it in.

(Sorry, I really do need that nap now.)

Oh MC - I know how that feels sometimes it gets so busy it is like you do not see each other!!! Sorry to hear that & I hope you two get sometime together.

It's suposed to be a beautiful day today. I wish daylight saving time was still in effect. I guess it's nice that the sun is up while I'm showering in the morning, but I'd prefer to have some daylight left after I get home from work. Oh, well. It's not up to me.

Or is it? Hmmmmm. I know some states don't participate in Daylight Saving Time. I wonder if we can get the city of Bellville to adopt Daylight Saving Time year round? I have a little pull with the council!

I hope y'all have a great day!

Do I see a master plan in the works?!?!!?

Anywho!!! CONGRATULATION MAYOR BRAD!!!!! Whooop Whooop!!!!

Should we be worried that Carl will be more of diva than he was before now that he is hobnobbing with pseudo-celebrities.

Tee hee, too cute!!!

Good morning,

Work beckons soon, blech! I did a bunch of errands this a.m. including running to Kmart for a multi pack of clear white C7 lights for my window candles, they sell them for a pack of 8 for $2.30+/- compared to Rite Aid who had a 4 pack for $2.99. I was going to get more decorating done before work, but I will be shoulder deep in turkeys today and they weigh 50-60lbs a case I better conserve my energy for that. Listening to Music Choice right now, I have had it on non-stop when I can, to my wife's chagrin. She is starting to get into the spirit now but she was depressed that we "didn't have a Halloween this year." With the snowstorm and subsequent power outage. Hopefully the radio stations switch soon. Better go get ready for work.

Have a great day, see you at the Pines later on.

I have to say I would have been bummed too, you guys were hit real hard... But, I SO love when music choice switches from Halloween to Christmas!!!!

So of i went to a bigger town to do some food shopping and i bought a turkey. one of the magor stores had then on offer just to friday. and after that they were going to double in price.
Have heard that they are gonna be more expensive this year. over here anyway as feeding has gone up in price. so i took one and have it in the freezer..

Ohh I hate when the prices of food goes up by double, they really have you.

Well my local radio station is cheating. I had "what are you waiting for" up to 70 percent and an hour later it was down to 33 percent. So "right after Thanksgiving" is winning again with 37 percent. They've never started before black Friday before so I'm sure that's when they will start again.

Ewww, I just voted again (well this morning) and it was at 57% the highest by far of all the options. That stinks why bother putting up a poll if you are going to do what you want anyway!

My 2 year old granddaughter helped decorate the tree this morning. I love the way she clustered a bunch of ornaments on one branch. (I will fix it later) =)

027-1.jpg

Now that is the so sweet, you gotta love it!!!

CM3, I know you will find the right words... Tell him you will love Lola, and make her happy... Maybe you could e-mail each other and he can watch her grow in pictures.

You are too funny a left over Halloween Zombie, tee hee but I know that feeling - after Sunday nights Giant Game I was crazed and paid for it Monday - oh boy did I ever!!!

I am a little saddened, nothing tragic!

Oh CAH, I know that feeling, you can't help it, I am like that with a few of the things I know won't last but when they do and then something happens it is still a little sad... Sorry about your Angel.

I voted again, and will keep at it, right now 32.9 to 35.7... GRRRRRRRR

That was CLASSIC!!! LOL!!!!!

And with this post, Kerstig is poster #24,000. For her efforts, she wins some meringue powder to use for her creations. We will definitely hit 25,000 BEFORE Christmas since we have lots of posters like Kerstig!

Hi every one, today is my boyfriends birthday, and tomorrow is my exam, so i'm glad and stressed at the same time  off to study now, so that i as much as possible done before my boyfriend returns from work today :)
Have a very merry day!

Hey Made! The heck with your local radio station! Tune into Christmas Radio right here on this site!!!! :!!

We still need to set them straight to get that music going early. :point:

Esquisite, as always, Binger! Thanks for contributing to this brilliance!

Brilliance
As we enter into the darkest months, there shines bright a community here. Community: the gathering of souls who believe in a common cause and celebrate it routinely. However, our little community is hardly routine. We hail from global corners. We have never spoken nor seen each other in person. We are as diverse as the universe, yet we speak a common language. We love a period of the year where the world stops for one moment and celebrates as one. Truly, there are those wonderful stories of the holidays- where strangers reach out and celebrate with charity that all too often is lacking the rest of the year. Look at the dysfunction that exists in our world and the pending darkness. Yet, all year long, here, our community is brilliant in love, and support, and friendship, and charity. In my darkest of days, I remembered: there is something bigger than this despair. It is friendship and love and the commonality of something that we celebrate, even if the rest of the world, only catches on for a few brief weeks. And it is fitting, that ever so close to Christmas, after the 21st of December and the longest night of the year, the world again joins us and goes into the light.
And so it has come to this, four days until the season
