ok, bradmac for congress!!! i can see it now!! lol
see you @ the pines this evening everyone.:!!

Hey Made! The heck with your local radio station! Tune into Christmas Radio right here on this site!!!!

I listen to MCR2 or sounds of the season while I'm at home but I'll listen to it while I'm in my truck.

"What are you waiting for" is back in the lead.

Okay everyone get ready!!! The alert will sound? Well it's late. I guess it's a good thing that this is only a test.

Hi everyone, sorry I have not been around much the last week, been somewhat overwhelmed with work and stress, but I'm not letting it crush my Christmas spirit.

Glad to hear from you, CJ!

I'll be having an MRI on Tuesday

Good luck on Tuesday! Praying for good results!

Well my local radio station is cheating. I had "what are you waiting for" up to 70 percent and an hour later it was down to 33 percent. So "right after Thanksgiving" is winning again with 37 percent. They've never started before black Friday before so I'm sure that's when they will start again.

That is such crap! I agree, why even have a poll if they're just going to do what they want anyway? I know I will be voting again, even if it's not going to matter! It matter's to us!

Wish is STILL doing good !! I can't believe it. Thank God in heaven and all the prayers of my Christmas family ((Hugs)) you are all so amazing and wonderful. I hope my present furchildren will accept Lola. I know in time they will.

Sugar - I hope DH feels better soon..Thinking of you and your family and of course, Ella xo

Glad to hear Wish is still doing well! That's wonderful! We'll keep praying! As for Lola, I know in my heart that you will find the right words to say. I think it was Laurie that said about doing emailing. I like that idea!

Thanks for the well wishes for my hubby! He's been napping since lunch time to get some of his energy back!

Hey, we're family here. You can chime in anytime!!!

Aww, thanks! I'm sooo glad to be apart of this big family!

Forgot to add; In response to the thread about taxing Christmas Trees, did you hear that the US government is coming out with a new Tax form for 2012? It only has two lines, like so;

1. How much did you make last year?___________

2. Send it in.

(Sorry, I really do need that nap now.)

Hahaha - that REALLY cracks me up!

I bought a Keurig in September as an early "retirement" gift to myself. I totally LOVE it! I got the one that is not the top of the line but one down from the top (Wal-Mart was out of the top one). I also bought the "My K-Cup," an additional item win which you use your own coffee. I also received a coupon for 48 K-cups and a coupon to get two free boxes if I purchased two additional boxes of 48. Great deal as far as I was concerned!

I'm thinking about ordering a Keurig coffee maker today. Do any of you have a Keurig? I'm debating between the Elite & the Platinum...leaning towards the platinum! I will probably keep it at work - then I won't have to run to the break room to warm my coffee several times a day!!! (can not drink luke warm coffee...)

Make it a great day my friends!!

I got EA down for a nap and DS was down for one as well, so I thought maybe I would catch one. Right after I came out, he is lying, wide awake in his swing, looks at me and starts screaming. Bottle time! Now he's bouncing in his bouncer! Oh the joys of parenthood (good and bad!) Hope I will get a nap in soon (seeing that I work tonight!) Maybe I will do some Christmas shopping online!

I, too, hope to see everyone tonight at campaign headquarters!!!

You rule Seawaters!!!! Campaign Headquarters... The Pines!!!

Okay everyone get ready!!! The alert will sound? Well it's late. I guess it's a good thing that this is only a test.

Thanks Made - I forgot all about that!!! You are too funny!!!!

Brilliance
As we enter into the darkest months, there shines bright a community here. Community: the gathering of souls who believe in a common cause and celebrate it routinely. However, our little community is hardly routine. We hail from global corners. We have never spoken nor seen each other in person. We are as diverse as the universe, yet we speak a common language. We love a period of the year where the world stops for one moment and celebrates as one. Truly, there are those wonderful stories of the holidays- where strangers reach out and celebrate with charity that all too often is lacking the rest of the year. Look at the dysfunction that exists in our world and the pending darkness. Yet, all year long, here, our community is brilliant in love, and support, and friendship, and charity. In my darkest of days, I remembered: there is something bigger than this despair. It is friendship and love and the commonality of something that we celebrate, even if the rest of the world, only catches on for a few brief weeks. And it is fitting, that ever so close to Christmas, after the 21st of December and the longest night of the year, the world again joins us and goes into the light.
And so it has come to this, four days until the season

Beautiful, Binger!! I raise my cup of coffee to you. =)

DF and I received a Keurig Elite as a Christmas gift from his parents in 2009. WE LOVE IT! I think either one would be a great buy! <3

Gabulldawg. We all miss and love you! Prayers are bursting out of the message board to you. Glad we got an update too. God is watching out for you!

Where is Clarke Grizwold when you need him! Speaking of Clarke. I think I will watch Christmas Vacation tonight. Oh how I love that movie. Cant wait to bring William to see Santa! Should be interesting on how he will react. Well back to work I go. Hope everyone has a good day.
PS - Carl is handing out free candy canes today at the pines!!! *crunch crunch!*

I agree, glad to hear an update from Dawg!

I realllly want to watch Christmas Vacation sometime this week, but I am just so crazy busy. I might do it the night before Thanksgiving since we all know I won't be able to do it on actual Thanksgiving Day like I normally do. That movie never fails to make me smile. =)

I am munching on one of Carl's candy canes, trying to avoid the fired twinkie toss going on over here! Drinking a special blend of peppermint coffee to keep me awake for my Hallmark shift...I hope Carl put a few extra doses of caffeine in here for me!!!

I am now the Mayor-Elect of Bellville, GA! Our present Mayor will keep the office until the end of the year. I'll be sworn in one day in the first week of January. Surreal.

Congrats, Mr. Mayor!!!!

You're so lucky! We have a Hoss's close to us, but not that close! We love it - we go there at least once a month, if not more.

As for the JoePa situation, it just makes me sick. They just announced he will be retiring at the end of the season. I don't see eye to eye on everything either, but it just is disgusting and sad. As a Penn Stat grad, I am still proud of my alma mater. I feel we will overcome this.

I actually hadn't been to Hoss's in FOREVER until DF and I started dating. Now it's like a ritual! There isn't a better salad bar anywhere as far as I'm concerned!

OMG...I don't even want to talk about the retirement announcement. A good friend told me at Kohl's today and I just sat there and then started rambling...it was all I could do to keep from crying. Maybe that sounds crazy to people, but when you and all your friends and family bleed Blue & White and something like this happens...a legend is basically forced to step down...it is not an easy pill to swallow. I agree with you though, we will overcome. WE ARE!

My sister has always had a fear of needles. When we were younger, and had to go get shots, 'lil sis (me) always went first. I just had bloodwork done on Monday, and they used my right arm this time. I have a crazy bruise, and it still hurts. So weird, usually doesn't bother me much, but they had to take 7 vials this time. I told my sister about it over the phone, and she said she felt like passing out just thinking about it, lol.

Ahhhh, I felt like passing out just reading that, LOL!

Hope your DH is feeling better soon, sugar- food poisoning is the worst. I'll be thinking of you both!

Thanks, Snowflake! It is horrible! I've had it twice in my life and never want to have it again. It's worse than the flu!

It's all a gimmick. Don’t get me started! Well, I’ve already started in another thread.

Best advice I can give here is for y’all to hasten quickly to the public radio station in your area’s website. Look for the meaningful and way better unique Christmas programming that will be in a “2011 Holiday Schedule” somewhere. Your mission then is to report that information along with noting an online listen link if applicable in the fifth annual schedule thread that hardly anyone notices.

It's time to break those chains of coperate broadcast vampires! You deserve better!

Congratulations, and best wishes for a successful term! I hope you find it very rewarding.

Look; here is an icon with your Town Crier, announcing your first ordinance!
:celebrate:
It's time for him to go to work!
Hear ye, hear ye! As your new Mayor, I hereby proclaim that each Wednesday will hereafter be known as Pinesday. Egg nog and fired twinkies for all!

Hello! Hopefully I am back full time here...the last week was ridiculous and it took me forever to catch up here!! I missed all of you!!

Both jobs have been getting into Christmas BIG time! Of course Kohl's has had our Christmas stuff up for quite some time, but we are now doing the scheduling for Black Friday and that is just INSANE! I still can't believe we are opening at MIDNIGHT!! It's going to be nuts! What's even worse is that Hallmark will probably schedule me right after I get off at Kohl's, but hopefully that should only be a 4 hour shift. Either way, I am prepared to be POOPED at the end of that day. Hallmark had our Open House over the weekend, glad to see some people here went to their local Hallmarks too! It was crazy busy too...made a 6 hour shift go by in no time! Of course it's not all Christmas cheer...we have had an over-abundance of rude customers at both places this year. I just don't understand it, I really don't. We are expecting Black Friday to be full of crude people and we are prepared! It's sad really...this is supposed to be a joyful time of year (as Christmasstar and Binger have reminded us already with their posts) and people can only complain and complain. I guess it's true - people aren't happy unless they're complaining about SOMETHING!

On another slightly downside of Christmas, DF has put the kibosh on us putting up our tree before Thanksgiving. I had suggested putting it up the weekend before Black Friday, but he said no. He is from the thinking that every holiday should have it's day, which I do understand, but I want decorations up NOW! lol Luckily he has said we can do it the weekend after Thanksgiving, so I am counting down! Also our friends across the street put up their lights this past weekend and have had them lit since then. Really irks DF but I love it!!!

Now for some fun non-Christmasy stuff! Wedding dress shopping I think might be winding down! I went with a work friend last Thursday back to the first shop I went to and tried on a gown I hadn't seen the first time. I. LOVED IT! I spent about a half hour in it and just didn't want to take it off. I took pictures but I can't upload them here until I renew my platinum membership (which I'm hoping to do soon once I pay on my student loans!). When I called my mom though, she kinda got upset since she hadn't had time to go dress shopping with me at all, so to appease her, I made an appt at David's Bridal this past Sunday. We went, along with my FMIL and FSIL, and I didn't think I would find anything. WRONG! I found 4 dresses I absolutely LOVE, and I have effectively dropped dresses at 4 other salons that I had looked at. So now it's just down to dresses at 3 places. The decision making is SO HARD though, I love so many of them! How on earth do you choose??

We have also decided on save-the-dates, since Staples has a special going on where you can get 100 for FREE! (Only pay shipping.) We have them almost ready to order, and we're going to send them out to people in their Christmas cards to save on postage. We are really excited!

As I mentioned before, I have a BUSY week currently! I have been working more hours at both jobs to prepare for Christmas, but I am doing a charity event with Kohl's tomorrow called Cray-Z Bowl. We did it last year, and they give you funny things to do while you bowl (like bowl with your eyes closed, bowl with your feet, etc). I am REALLY excited! Then Friday is work, followed by bridal dress shopping with my mom and one of my matrons of honor, then DF's and my first ever hockey game with friends! We are seeing the AHL champion Hershey Bears!!! We have wanted to go for a long time so we are pumped!!

Eeek! I feel like I am going off-Christmas-topic here, but one more thing - I think before Christmas, they are gonna be putting a Books-A-Million in where our Borders used to be! I have sorely missed Borders these last 2 months since they closed and I LOVE BAM (they had one in my college town where gabulldawg lives), so I am ready for them to open! I might see if they're hiring...I worked in Waldenbooks back in the day and I could totally do it again! I am a total bookworm. =)

I must go for now and chug more super caffeinated coffee so I can stay awake for Hallmark tonight! That and I have to read more about JoePa's retirement announcement, although I don't know why I torture myself reading about it. I just get angrier and angrier that he's leaving and the president of the university is STILL THERE...grrrrr...but that is all I'll say about that.

Have a happy hump day, everyone and enjoy the Pines while I'm working away! =D

Have a MERRY afternoon!!!!!!!!!

Wow. The wind is so strong here this afternoon that it sounds like my roof is going to blow off. I better head to the Pines soon or I may not make it.

I so know the feeling I had a rough week the one before and it took me till today to catch up!!! Tee Hee

Ok... I struggle with this same thing... I love Thanksgiving and the whole message... But I LOVE, LOVE Christmas, what is a girl to do... Well, it isn't easy but over the years I have collect and now have what I call a Thanksgiving Village... It has Pilgrams (sp??) - Indians - Turkey's - Ducks (yes don't laugh they look cute) - pumpkins - and now a light house - with crafty fall leaves. I have Scarcrows (sp???) - and it looks SO cute, I now have this all through my home. No it is not Christmas, but it let's me have the decor and yet maintain my love of Thanksgiving too!!!

I am sure you will look amazing in whatever dress you choose...

It was great to hear from you, :)

Can you post the 4 dresses pictures?!?!
