Special Post 3...

I want you all to re-gift this year. Yes, I want you to take this gift you were given, wrap it up in the prettiest ribbons, paper and bows, and then re-gift it… Who are you giving this gift too, what is this gift you are re-gifting? Your childhood… Once you have wrapped it up beautifully, I then want you to enjoy the anticipation of opening it up… Rip off those bows and ribbons; tear that paper off in shear excitement… Then embrace that childhood, for all too often in the hustle and bustle of a more, more, more world, I find we can lose sight of what sheer joy was / is. Here is your opportunity to enjoy Christmas once again, not through the eyes of your children, but though your child-like heart and eyes. I feel Christmas is a time when the world is renewed in the joy & hope of the season, that peace really can be achieved if we strive for it. The best of everyone comes forth, the Angels are living among us, and we all wish we could give more then we receive. You see I think Christmas gives everyone the opportunity to be a child. This Christmas I invite you all, once again or maybe for you for the first time experience Christmas with the heart of a child.
Christmas, not New Years Day, is a time when we can start anew, fresh, begin again, be reborn, however you may want to look at it. You see it really is the perfect time, for this is when we are all feeling our best and most giving, we may even forgive those who have trespassed against us. So this Christmas, do not live Christmas though your Children, Grand Children, Nieces, or Nephews, (for some of us do not have any in our lives) live it as though you were a child, leave all your mistakes, regret, hurtful words (either said to you or maybe by you), and insecurities behind you, this Christmas start with a clean slate, see ourselves as the child we once were, or maybe wish we could have been; remember innocence, trust, sharing, and most of all kindness. The gift, so many meanings pour forth, how many stories and legends come from this, his gift was so precious, so now I want you to give it back to yourself, his gift, his spirit, start your life as you always wanted or maybe you are happy as it is, then cradle it, rejoice in it. Remember it is a gift, given to each and every one of us. Know that forever more you are a very special person who is an adored child on Earth, take this new you or rejuvenated you into the future, show this to all you meet.
I received a card with this saying on it… May Peace be your priority, Hope your foundation, Joy your expression, and Love your gift!!!

To all my friends on MMC, I wish this all for you... Peace, hope, joy, and most of all Love...

Let's all have a most wonderful, happy Christmas!!!

Wonderful post

Good morning, everyone!

Thursday! Normall, it would be the day before weekend, but my weekend starts at 3:45 this afternoon. As a federal government "employee" I am a off tomorrow - without pay, albeit. You want more good news? I do not have to return to this job on Monday! Normally, that would be a downer, however, I have landed a casual (90-day work contract) at Health Canada. I will move up the payscales from making minimum wage ($10.25) to somewhere around $18 per hour. I am incredibly excited! The 90 days will last until about the beginning of April, so I am set for the short-term.

My old boss contacted me three weeks ago and asked if I was looking for work. Everything worked out so perfectly. I'd say that I cannot wait to start on Monday, but instead, I am looking forward to something a little closer. Yes, I am looking forward to Sunday. We are only three days away from the beginning of the Christmas Season! Yes, at midnight on Saturday/Sunday, we will chime in the Christmas Season together. Christmas music will play, Christmas films will be watched, and the rest of the world will be filled with the same spirit that we have felt all year long - the Christmas Spirit! Such joy, such excitement!

What a week this will have been. Things are certainly looking up (for me, at least). This new job will allow me to take some additional qualification courses for teaching, too. I am not entirely sure what I will take yet, but I am excited to start doing some school work, once again.

I say looking up, but I must end on a somber note. My grandmother had a small stroke yesterday. This is her third small stroke. I do not know if they are all adding up, but I would ask you all to look out for her. At times, she may weep in her own self-pitty, but she is my grandmother and was always there for me as a child. I really just want her to make a full recover (or as close to it as possible) and be as happy as she can be throughout the Christmas Season. I am excited to see her in just over a month's time. I land in the Sault on the 19th, and I plan on visiting her by myself on the 20th.

Even though I have tomorrow off, I plan on watching (or perhaps attending) the Remembrance Day activities at Parliament Hill. Similar to your Veterans Day in the U.S., we will be saluting and remembering those that fought and died for our country, for our freedom...

Have a great Thursday, everyone! We are on the downslope of the work week and heading faster than ever toward the Christmas Season!!

Brent... So sorry about your Grandmother, I will be saying a prayer for you and her.

On the good side I am so happy for your good news!!! Congratulations!!!!

Good Morning Everyone!!!!!!! It's going to be a chilly day here in central Indy with a high in the mid 40's this afternoon. We may even get some snow flurries this afternoon!!! I don't know what I'm going to do today. I'll probably just rest all day. Tomorrow I have to go help finish some last minute preparations for my nieces birthday on Saturday. So it's going to be a busy couple of days starting tomorrow. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!

Our pecan tree didn't produce anything because of the drought. I am sure that is why the pecans are selling for a good price this year!

Do you have a pecan picker upper? We sell those at the feed store and they are awesome!
I have the rolling type, but it seems to drop half of what it picks up. It's easier to kneel on a carpet remnant and pick them up by hand.

My mom has over 100 trees that she "farms", irrigating, fertilizing, spraying for insects & fungus', etc. A man come over with a specialized tractor that grips the tree and vibrates it to make the pecans fall out. Another piece of equipment is pulled behind a tractor to gather the pecans, and yet another piece of equipment sorts out the leaves and the underweight pecans.

Much more complicated than my 7 tree operation at my house!
