Good Morning Everyone!!!!!!! It's going to be a windy day here in central Indy. I have to be at my sisters house by 9 to finish setting up. I also just realized that I ddin't buy my niece a birthday card. So I have to stop by the store on my way to her house. Maybe I'll even swing by Bernie's to get some breakfast. I'll see you all tonight and I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is an over 12 year tradition that began at Christmas.com- the precursor where we met years ago! We will meet here in real time- theonly time we ever plan it- tonight- by 11:00PM

Good morning, MMC! Hope you're all doing well! DS slept all night, so that made it sooo nice! EA and I are sitting here watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. I'm soon going to make some coffee in the Keurig.

Not a whole lot going on this evening. I have a 31 party to go to at 4. I have to take the kids because DH works until 5. It should be a good time. I'm not sure what we'll do once I get home.

DH and I wrapped all the gifts last night that we've purchased so far! I have lots more on the way! I really am doing well this season. I think being on MMC this year has really put me in a merrier mood and made me a lot more motivated to do things.

I hope to be around tonight to ring in the season with all of you. I will probably be in and out earlier in the evening, but not too late. I don't get to see DH too much and would like to spend the evening with him as well. I'm sure you all understand!

Actually I did forget! That is how out of it I am...I won't be getting in until tonight,and I will have jet lag from being on the West Coast all week. I might just be around here at 11. Last year although I joined in Sept. I did not peek into the countdown thread until Jan. so this is new to me!

Well, my sister should be coming in around 1 this afternoon. Right now? I'm putting up the tree!!!!!!!

I dragged it (and all of my decorations) out last night. Now my apartment looks like a mess!!! Hopefully, decorating will help my place look better. :smile:

Saturday ... the piano tuner is tuning away, and I'll be working on my Christmas card labels and some other Christmas errands after I'm caught up here. Mr. needs me to vacate for a little while today so he can put the finishing touches on our annual DVD of Christmas clips (it'll involve annoying audio work), so I may drive over to the local garden center and see if they have their Christmas shop up and running yet. I went there once, years ago, and they had buildings and buildings full of ornaments, lights, decorations, gifts, artificial trees, real trees, wreaths---everything you could imagine. A good place to kill a couple of hours! If they're not ready for Christmas, I have some shopping I can do.

Not sure if I'll be here for welcoming in the season at midnight---depends on what we do this evening. I wasn't aware of that tradition until recently.

In the Countdown, the traditional start of the season is Nov. 13. So folks gather in the Countdown to ring it in, kinda like New Year's Eve.

My grandfather fought in WWII but he was a German and was onboard the Graf Spee. He met Hilter and shook his hand *shudders*. He was not happy with that man or the war and jumped ship to come to America to marry my grandma. He became an American citizen a few years after the war was over.

A brave guy to walk away from the wrong side of the war! You must be very proud of him.

So, last night the Wifey and I went out to eat, bought groceries, and looked at Christmas decorations again. Today is a big day for us. We decorate the house and put up the tree....gonna be a good day.
