Good morning all,

I have been busy, busy this morning, I got up, did the dishes, fed, dressed, and got the boys off to school and preschool. Went down to the store to buy my newspaper, came home got all the leaves off the front yard, came inside and quickly did some decorating so I feel I accomplished something on the decorating front. I now leave for work in just over 30 minutes, it is the last push for turkeys. May I suggest if you are buying a frozen turkey, be sure to buy it by Sunday at the latest so it will have enough time to thaw out in the refrigerator.

I will try to swing by the Pines later on, I will be exhausted tonight.

Have a good day!

I came across this on Youtube the other day: It is a video/slideshow of my town before and after the tornado. It brings a tear to my eye to see it on how we were before June 1. As you watch my house (you don't see our house in the video) is less than a quarter mile from the First Church and Library, and it shows the High St railroad tracks, my street is just off of High St. It really just missed us, if you were looking out of our front window, you would have seen the tornado going across the top of the mountain.

It has been nearly 6 months, and I am still having dreams about it.

GLad you mention this! WHen I was in Oregon last week I bought my folks a 19 pound turkey and put it in the freezer so If we are going to eat it next thursday would I tell them to take it out saturday? The last 2 turkeys I have bought had small holes in the plastic and when it thawed out in the fridge it leaked everywhere... This time I bought them a butterball and I need to tell my sister to check it to make sure! I have always read they thaw at 4 to 5 pounds a day...I have a fear I forget to tell them and I won't get there until monday and it will still be frozen on thursday!!***makes note to call home***!
Oh and have a good day at work!

To play it safe, I would take it out Saturday, if you need to thaw it quickly, you can put it in a vat of cold water and change the water every half hour until it is thawed, it is a lot of work but it works, I know it is tempting to let it thaw "on the counter" but for food borne illness reasons play it safe.

Good Morning, Christmas friends~

I can't believe Thanksgiving is @ a week away! Time sure flies when you're having fun! I wish it would slow down a bit, though. This truly is the most wonderful time of the year.

I've been fighting a cold/flu for over a week, and it finally won yesterday. I ended up thinking it was just allergies, but sadly no. I wish I was home & in bed under the covers. I feel like a zombie.

Hope you all are doing well~

Thinking of you, Lauriebear. Sending hugs your way. And keeping this young man in my prayers, hope he finds his way.

I'm very excited about the Christmas card exchange, am making some good leeway. I bought all of the stamps, and am @ 2/3 of the way done with the cards. They're so much fun!

Hope everyone has a great day!!

Hi all!

I finally dragged my patootie to LabCorp this morning and by the time I was done, I looked like an addict. Three pokes in both arms (two on left, one on right) = one unhappy Kimmy :-(

At least it's all over and when I get home this evening (I get to leave early b/c I got here so early) I can FINALLY start packing!! :yahoo:

When Autumn leaves fly,
Then Christmas is close by!

Woke up this morning to find that most of the trees in the yard have dropped their leaves. It means that we're just that much closer to Thanksgiving and Christmas! And vacation-we're going away for a few days right after Thanksgiving. We're going to Pennsylvania to visit places like Christmas Village, Roadside America, and The Kristkindlmarkt in Bethlehem. We stay up in "farm country", and it's beautiful riding around and looking at the early Christmas lights.

Yes,last year I tried the cold water thaw technique! Never again!!!omg talk about too much work!!! much easier just to let it thaw in the fridge! thanks though for the advise!

Our leaves are really falling down here, not as pretty as last year but still they changing and dropping, even my late changing trees have just started to turn..I love this time of year although it is kind of sad to see a tree with just a few leaves still hanging on!

******* CHRISTMAS SEASON DAY 4 *******
Oh, you're never too early for the 'Pines!
So agree! I have been here since 10am, because I have a Bible study course I am taking on Wednesday nights, so I have to come early!

Carl serves a wonderful lunch, he cooked the seeds of the four-wing saltbush, it looks like oatmeal, but much tastier. Told me it is his favorite food!

Less than 40 days to Christmas and already 4 days into the season!
I'm so excited!

twas almost a month before Christmas and all Thu the forums,
everyone was excited, as Crown 84 counts em down for us!
Jeff was busy with a new pod cast,
and was havin fun wholeheartedly,
RJD, Jayish and CJ498 was spinning tunes,
for our World's Largest Christmas Party.
MerryChristmasTV and DvdGuy made sure we watched what we wanted,
as George Broderick, Jr. drawed us.

MerryCarey,Christmas-A-Holic, merrymistletoe, and Christmasstar
strung tinsel and holly all around the room,
when from outside we all heard a big BOOM!!

We all ran to the windows and threw up the sash
and we saw the front of the Pines had became hash!
thanks to made582, Undrtakr and gabulldawg who,
tried to make a fire, and used gasoline too!

Rodmonster was laughing, Maureen was shaking her head
as AuntieMistletoeDear Yelled "We'll make the smores over
the fire place instead!

Chef Matt and Seawaters was baking away as
Spyells, shellie12 and kerstig wrapped more presents without delay.
Caninemom3 and snow in texas was stringing popcorn for
the tree. Michelleloveschristmas, judesmama and Mumof2
was caroling away in sweet harmony!

JanaBanana and One Spoiled Brat put the tree up,
Bradmac said "I have eggnog, anyone want a cup?"
Elf Ernest grabbed some, Santa did too and when
kekemapa35 got hers she smiled and said "thank you!"

As for me lilnoelelf, I looked around in awe,
looking from the tall to the small.
as Santa turned and bent down to whisper in my ear
"this is what it's about, being with "your Christmas family"
spreading cheer 24/7 365 days out of the year!

Hope y'all have a blessed day see ya this evening!
very nice!

I cried yesterday as I walked through downtown Goderich. It was once such a beautiful place, we loved to go there for day trips because it is right on the lake. The damage from the F3 tornado is so much worse than the news portrayed.
I now understand a little better what you went through. Talking to folks they say the same thing, every time a storm comes they are watching the sky's.

Woo hoo. And you spelled my nick name correct! hah

Thanks for the poem, Lilnoelelf.
(Of course, Carl is a little miffed, but then he's tad narcissistic.)

And what about my Mystery Twin, Binger?

Just applied for a Christmas temp job at our local boots, fingers crossed I get it. Could really do with that little bit of extra money this year
