December 1st already! The home stretch to Christmas day. Advent calendars are up, the first gift of advent given.

It was a beautiful morning here. Temp was 22 when I left for work. Drove through freezing fog over the mountain. Listened to Bing Crosby, Amy Grant, Michael W. Smith & Casting Crowns sing Christmas songs during my commute. My favorite time of the year.

We got an early Christmas present. The judge said in court that he wants DSS and the clerk of court to finish the adoption process in February instead of dragging it into the spring. Baby Elizabeth (who is now 2 1/2 actually) should be ours for good in a few months.

That is great news!!!

There will be no downtime at the office for a few weeks due to a big ongoing job, so you'll hear less of me.

We will miss you not being on as much!

We had a little excitement in Bellville last night. I heard some sirens and went outside to find fire trucks and firemen in the street in front of our house. They had an automated smoke call from a neighbor's house, but they didn't find anything, thank goodness.

Sorry but I busted out laughing over this. We have this kind of excitement all the time! I hope you don't get the image that I am in a dangerous neighborhood, just a busy one! We hear sirens all the time and watch speeding fire trucks and ambulances up and down here.

It is a little different if it's your next door neighbor and I am glad that it was a false alarm!

I rather have the excitement you have without hearing this all the time! =)

Great music choice! I can't think of a better place to be at Christmas than in the Smoky Mountains.

Of course, it's a pretty good place in the summer, too...and spring...and fall.

The heater in our house is not working. The landlord came by yesterday and he can't figure out what is wrong so he is sending someone else to fix it. It's not so bad here in the afternoon but freezing in the morning.

I can deal with it. Rather be freezing in my house than deal with that summer heat we had suffered! I can just bundle up. =)

Good Thursday morning everyone!

Carl had a nice coffee/candy cane blend yesterday! He wanted to drink it out of a stocking but I talked him out of it LOL. William was screaming/singing Jingle Bells the other day. My Wife and I looked at each other and started laughing. I have a picture or two of the Christmas tree lot going up today down the road from my work. Ill post it when I get home. We are going to get another coating of snow tonight and tomorrow! As usual, family is pulling me in every direction this time of year (sheesh!). Tomorrow evening we go to the annual neighbors Christmas party. Always fun, and they have M&M Meat shop meatballs there that I CANT GET ENOUGH OF! *drool*. I still haven't got my MMC Cook Book. I'm sure it will come soon. Its a gift for my Wife. Im REALLY hoping my Grandfathers snack mix made it in the book! Well back to work I go. Hope everyone has a merry day!

I haven't read everything in the cookbook but I have enjoyed very much the memories shared with the recipes. Your story was very nice about your grandpa's recipe. Thanks for sharing!

I finally got the pool cover, so I'm going to close our pool this weekend. I've been pouring the chlorine to it before I cover it, and I stepped up on the deck to put another bag in this morning. My feet almost came out from under me because of the ice on the deck! Nice!

Sounds like a decent sign to close down the pool. Good thing you didn't fell in. That would have made for a fun adventure!

Hard to believe. I still haven't purchased a chocolate advent calendar. I may see if I can purchase one this weekend. If not, I may be old enough to do without!

I read that about a month ago. I was very saddened to read it. He has an iconic Christmas voice. But, he vowed to defeat it and return for next Christmas Season. Like everyone else, I am pulling for him!

Good afternoon, everyone!

It's the first lunch of December. Happy December to all. Merry Christmas to all. The weather has finally dipped into seasonal temperatures - for the next few days, at least. Then, it seems to warm up for a couple more days and then, finally, Christmas Season weather should return for good. The best part about the weather is that snow is in the forecast for overnight tonight and tomorrow. It wouldn't be the first of December without snow!

Here's hoping that this new month - the last and best month of the year - will bring the entire world together to experience a month full of joy and happiness. Christmas time is here! Now that it is December, I am counting down the days until I fly home for Christmas. On Sunday, it will be exactly two weeks. I am excited!!

I wish I could say there is a lot new on my end, but there really isn't. I am doing my best to enjoy myself and let the Christmas Season play out as it should. I have a busy weekend ahead of me - my Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights are already filled - and then next weekend, we have a Christmas Sweater party at a friends. All these events should make for another wonderful Christmas Season.
