Hey everybody!! So here we are in the final run-up to Christmas; wow! It's plodded along like a faithful old pony all year and it's now like the faithful old pony has been replaced with an Arabian thoroughbred and we're sprinting toward s the chequered flag (look at me, mixing my metaphors before 10am!!)
I'm trying desperately to get my Christmas spirit. I can feel it there, just peeking round the corner but I think it's reluctant to make it's presence felt until we have a living room!!!! Because we don't have a living room, I'm subsequently missing my bedroom and part of the hall (everything from the living room is scattered between the two). We now have the........thing.......built and I've got to say, it looks superb. He's now painting but the paint isn't going on as well as he'd like and when I went to bed last night, he was threatening, loudly, to strip everything, go and buy wallpaper today and start doing that. I'll admit to having a brief but poignant conversation, loudly, to the effect of "thank you so much for what you've done, it looks fantastic but if you think you're starting to wallpaper now, I'll rip your ears off"
Bruce is now home from university and we've big plans for today. I'll be impressed if we follow through with even one of them!!! There's a heap of baking to be done, I haven't seen the new Harry Potters yet (I've been under a rock!) so we're going to watch those too (probably on the laptop in his room as, you may recall, we don't have a living room right now!) we're going to deliver Christmas cards and may wrap some presents (might manage that in the kitchen!) Needless to say, he's still in bed and I went in to check on him (I know he's 20 but old habits die hard) and REALLY wish I'd had my camera with me. Jacob (the border terrier) and Bruce were spooning!!!! Jacob idolises my other half and obviously, Bruce - me, not so much!!! Jacob was lying with his head on the pillow, on top of the duvet, with his back snuggled into Bruce, who's under the duvet, and Bruce's arm was around him, both completely out for the count; you could've blown a trumpet in there and they wouldn't have budged. Mom moment but it was a cute one!!
How sweet @ Bruce & Jacob. I bet you're so happy to have him home for the holidays. Enjoy every moment!
Okay, off to make another coffee then I guess, do something. You ever get that feeling that you don't know where to start???!!!
I'm currently listening to RadioJonD's Greasy Skillet on WAAM - Ann Arbor (let's hear it for internet radio!!) and it's a great thing to kickstart your Sunday with. Do yourselves a favour and have a listen. This week and next it's all Christmas so get in there!!!!
Catch you later - be good!!!!!!!!
