Good afternoon!

The snow that fell overnight is melting and tomorrow's forecast calls for rain. It is downright chilly out, so I am going to make potato soup for supper. Other than that, I am spending the day reading Call Me Mrs. Miracle.

Have a MERRY day!!!!!

hi everyone...I am very annoyed....lol....switched on the christmas lights on the tree and saw that the colored lights are not working....and the white ones not properly either...which is weird, cos they worked perfectly when i put em up....anyhow and anyway...i got a clear light chain from moms and will buy a new colored lights chain tomorrow....and then redecorate the entire tree, put the lights up...and then again....decoratin the entire thing.....oh how i love it....ho ho NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO :D

The Colts won a game!!!!!!!!!!!!

One week to go!

Good Sunday morning, my Christmas friends!

I spent most of the day and evening in the malls in Saannah with my wife & kids (oh yeah, and my bossy sister in law) yesterday. they were packed!

Today, after church, I plan to have dinner at my mom's, then go out & shoot down some mistleltoe...I'm such a redneck! Later, we have a party with Nancy's dad's family. Should be fun!

I hope y'all have a great day! cheesy

I hope you bag your limit. Do you have to have a hunting license for that???
Smooching license. And just as in acquisition, aim must be true for application.

May yours be true in both instances Brad!

Well I am exhausted. We only baked about 50 dozen cookies instead of the 200 dozen we normally do. We also made about 2 weeks worth of dinners for my sisters neighbor. My sister actually let me watch the Colts game so I was happy. I took the laptop but didn't have much time to get on it. It looks like it was pretty quiet around here today. We will have to change that if we want to hit 30,000 posts. Well I'm off to watch HGTV's celebrity holiday home.

We have 1,757 post to reach 30,000. I, too, thought it seemed a little quiet around here today. I hate to sound ungracious, Made, but you are sending my cookies when???

this is the first day I only had to go through a few posts to get updated.....everyone must be out at parties...or helping in the hunt for mistletoe!

got the last of my mail addressed and will get it in the mail tomorrow. If I had not dragged my feet making those ornaments, it would have all been done by now!

Good evening,

Another busy day at work, exhaustion is beyond how I feel.

Please say a prayer or keep a thought on me, I haven't decided if I want to be away from here for a little while, I will take that on a day by day basis. I have so much on my plate and mind right now, and my Christmas spirit has disappeared on me.
Thank you so much to Caninemom3 she has been helping me through this stretch, she is such a great person and a friend.

Have a good night.

Hi MMC family! Hope everyone is having a great day/evening. I do apologize, but I don't think I will get caught up on much of the thread this evening. I only have about 30 minutes or so to read over the posts, but I am off tomorrow, so I will get caught up then.

It seems my back has only been bothering me more, so I think I will need to call the chiropractor and make an appointment with him for Tuesday. As I think I told you guys before, the medicine that they have given me, only makes me drowsy and knocks me out, which just isn't feasible for someone like me, so I need to have something done. It's frustrating. I want to spend time with DH and the kids, but at the same time, when I'm in so much pain, when I come home from work and need to sleep for a few hours and supposed to take my medicine and then I do, it knocks me out. Ugh...anyway...enough complaining. Hopefully the chiropractor can figure something out for me, if not, looks like I will be trying therapy next.

Well, I hope you all have a wonderful night. I will talk to you all tomorrow earlier in the afternoon. Enjoy the rest of your night. Gotta go get ready for work soon!

Oh and PS - it's the week of Christmas!

for many years after my ex left me to raise our 3 little ones on my own I had no Christmas spirit at all. I did not even want to celebrate Christmas, and only did so because my kids wanted it and I felt I had to do it for them. I would set up the tree on Dec 14 and take it down on boxing day.

Good evening,

Busy day at work today, I am feeling it tonight. I finally received the gift that was "lost" in the mail, in fact one came in and the other was just the label with an apology from the USPS saying that the package was destroyed in the mail, so I have to call them again to have it sent again. ARRRRRGGGGGHHHH!

Have a good night!

Sorry you're having so much trouble with your packages, Xmas. Hope you get it figured out, soon and fast.

wow, what a great family Christmas party we had today!

My sister and hubby had mom in tears when they showed up unannounced (they live in Vermont, a 9 hour drive from here)

That was so nice for your sister and her DH to show up in surprise and that was also a great story about your gift. What a wonderful person you are. You're making such great memories for your family members. They will cherish those for years to come.

I hope instead of a cold it's something simple, like the air being too dry. In the winter my nose gets stuffy when it's too dry, so I use a humidifier in the bedroom at night to moisten things up a bit. Saline mist during the day helps, too.

I think it was just dry air, but I do take a medicine everyday for migraines and it's for my seizures as well and I think it was just a bad headache. I think with the way my back has been, it is making me have worse headaches, which only makes sense. Thanks for thinking of me.

Stopping in for a very late evening "Hello!"

We are nearly at the 18th of December. How the days have flown by. Tomorrow evening at this time, I will be home in Sault Ste. Marie for the Christmas Season... Barring any flight delays, of course! I am really hoping for a safe and stressless flight!

This evening, Kim and I visited Parliament and enjoyed the Christmas lights and decor. I have attached a couple photos below. Others can be seen in the Christmas Blossoms thread, too!

Anyway, I hope everyone is having a wonderful time. I don't have much time to peruse the forum at the moment. Hopefully I can stop by before my flight tomorrow. But, it is a busy day!!

@VSU- Hope you feel better soon!!! I know this season has been wierd for me too...I have thought more than once that I want to wipe this season out and just start all over! but that has only been in a fleeting moment of stress. I have alot to look forward too, sometimes I feel like next Christmas things will be calmer....Has anyone started feeling the post Christmas blues yet? I know that sounds wierd but I have already started to worry about how I am going to feel post holiday this year! I know I will be too busy to worry about it in january with the baby coming...but I still can't believe how fast this season has gone...it is depressing!

I am already feeling the same way...I keep thinking "a week from now..." but I try to keep reminding myself to relish each & every moment! Thank God we have each other to keep the Christmas spirit alive year round!

wow, what a great family Christmas party we had today!

My sister and hubby had mom in tears when they showed up unannounced (they live in Vermont, a 9 hour drive from here)

Then I had everyone in tears when I handed out the decorations made from my dads old sweater, they all started talking about their memories of him and how much they loved the idea of now having a piece of that sweater. Mom especially, could not talk for awhile after I told her that she had the piece of the sweater that was over his heart (she got a pillow since she does not decorate for Christmas anymore) I am so glad I was able to bless my family in this special way.

Now I am exhausted! Going to bed, good night everyone!

Wow, that's just beautiful Star! Add me to the tears list. What a lovely thing you did for your family!

Those are some beautiful pictures, Brent! Thanks for sharing.

Good evening, Christmas family

Have had a WONDERFUL day today !! My husband surprised me by suggesting we go back to Donzell's Garden Center today and walk aound to see the Christmas stuff again !! I never make it there more than once each year so it was a special treat. Then on the way home we stopped for lunch. There was a gentle snow falling while we were out and I was playing Christmas music in the car !

I didn't have time to properly read all the posts today, please forgive me.

CAH -You are more than welcome about The Bishop's Wife!! I am glad you liked it. I think it is a beautiful Christmas movie and the message can't be beat !!

I hope all are well and have a wonderful rest of the weekend. I work tomorrow.

Take care, Christmas family xoxo ((Hugs))xo

What a sweet gesture that your husband did for you! Your day sounds absolutely perfect, CM3! xo

Hey everybody!! So here we are in the final run-up to Christmas; wow! It's plodded along like a faithful old pony all year and it's now like the faithful old pony has been replaced with an Arabian thoroughbred and we're sprinting toward s the chequered flag (look at me, mixing my metaphors before 10am!!)

I'm trying desperately to get my Christmas spirit. I can feel it there, just peeking round the corner but I think it's reluctant to make it's presence felt until we have a living room!!!! Because we don't have a living room, I'm subsequently missing my bedroom and part of the hall (everything from the living room is scattered between the two). We now have the........thing.......built and I've got to say, it looks superb. He's now painting but the paint isn't going on as well as he'd like and when I went to bed last night, he was threatening, loudly, to strip everything, go and buy wallpaper today and start doing that. I'll admit to having a brief but poignant conversation, loudly, to the effect of "thank you so much for what you've done, it looks fantastic but if you think you're starting to wallpaper now, I'll rip your ears off"

Bruce is now home from university and we've big plans for today. I'll be impressed if we follow through with even one of them!!! There's a heap of baking to be done, I haven't seen the new Harry Potters yet (I've been under a rock!) so we're going to watch those too (probably on the laptop in his room as, you may recall, we don't have a living room right now!) we're going to deliver Christmas cards and may wrap some presents (might manage that in the kitchen!) Needless to say, he's still in bed and I went in to check on him (I know he's 20 but old habits die hard) and REALLY wish I'd had my camera with me. Jacob (the border terrier) and Bruce were spooning!!!! Jacob idolises my other half and obviously, Bruce - me, not so much!!! Jacob was lying with his head on the pillow, on top of the duvet, with his back snuggled into Bruce, who's under the duvet, and Bruce's arm was around him, both completely out for the count; you could've blown a trumpet in there and they wouldn't have budged. Mom moment but it was a cute one!!

How sweet @ Bruce & Jacob. I bet you're so happy to have him home for the holidays. Enjoy every moment!

Okay, off to make another coffee then I guess, do something. You ever get that feeling that you don't know where to start???!!!

I'm currently listening to RadioJonD's Greasy Skillet on WAAM - Ann Arbor (let's hear it for internet radio!!) and it's a great thing to kickstart your Sunday with. Do yourselves a favour and have a listen. This week and next it's all Christmas so get in there!!!!

Catch you later - be good!!!!!!!!

Good morning, everyone!

Happy one week until Christmas! The Season is closer to the end than the beginning, however, the Christmas Spirit remains at an all-time high (at least it does for me)! Aside from photographing some sights around Parliament, which is only a 10 minute walk from my home, yesterday evening, Kim and I also watched Elf. We had watched the first half of it way earlier in the Season, but decided to watch it again, in it's entirety, last night. It never gets old. Quite hilarious and it always makes me feel very good inside!

Elf is a movie we could watch over & over and never get sick of it!

As I mentioned yesterday, I fly out of Ottawa to Sault Ste. Marie (with a layover in Toronto) today at 6:30. With the exception of a few things, I am all packed and ready to go! It will be just over three hours of traveling time. It will be nice to not have to take the midnight bus and sleep in my own bed - rather than a cramped Greyhound chair.

I'll do my best to pop in throughout the day and see how everyone is doing, but I'll see what I can do. After all, it is also NFL Sunday. Thankfully, I based my flight around the Packers game... I don't have to leave for the airport until about 4:30!

Sorry that you based your flight around that game. How depressing was that?! I can't believe our winning streak came to an end by the Chiefs! Oh well, at least it wasn't by The Vikings or The Bears...

Have a wonderful Sunday, everyone! We are only a week until Christmas. One week from today, we will all be gathered around the Christmas Tree enjoying the most magical morning of the year. I can wait. This final week will be magical, too. And now that I have the entire week off, I would love for the week to slow down and allow me to enjoy it to the fullest. Christmas will soon be here!

Hey Christmas Family,

Sorry that I have been missing around here since Friday. It's crunch time!
And I'm feeling it!

We had my company's Christmas Party last night, and I had to arrive there earlier in the afternoon to help out. It was fun, but I'm so tired!!

Today, we cleaned the house to get ready for my parents arrival toward the end of the week. We also did laundry, watched the sad excuse of a Packer's game!, and worked on the remaining Christmas cards.

I'm already dreading the end of the season. I know that I need to concentrate on the present, though, we still have so much to look forward to!

I'm thinking of all of you! Sending thoughts, prayers & hugs to everyone who needs them, especially xmas, V, and dawg.

I hope you all have a great week. Merry Christmas & God Bless!!

Christmasstar and Xmas, so many of us know what you are going/went through. My husband told me a week before our third child, first daughter, was born that he no longer wanted to be married. He left when she was three days old. That Christmas was so difficult. I did get through it, but I was forever changed. I realized that I was a person of WORTH! You would not believe what I have endured since then, (My second child was diagnosed with leukemia in December of 2007, my daughter had a stroke when she was 22 years old, and my only grandchild was born with pronounced cerebral palsy), but I want you to know that I totally understand. Manic depression and other depressions are a real thing for at least two important people in my life, and I know that it is REAL. Before this was manifested in those I love, I would have had no idea what depression was. So many people here love and respect you. KEEP THE FAITH!!!! Like Christmasstar said, "The Christmas Spirit will come back when you least expect it."

Good evening, Christmas family

Gosh !! I am really beat. I was supposed to finish working at 9 but did not get done until 10 this evening. I woke up super late today on top of it and hardly had time to get a cup of coffee before I started !! Then it was rush, rush, rush straight through until I got all the Radiology finished.

I can't believe this is the last week before Christmas, and yes, Dawg, I am beginning to have Christmas blues. I haven't watched half the movies I usually do and I even DVRd The Polar Express tonight so I can watch it just sitting here with all the commercials in even though I own it commercial free. There is something about watching a movie at Christmas with the Christmas commercials that feels festtive to me !!

Christmasstar - I am so glad your party was so wonderful. I am sure your dad is so proud of you and what you did with his sweater xo You are such an amazing and talented Christmas friend xo

Sugar - I hope your back is feeling better soon ! xo

Xmas- I am glad to be your friend. In fact, I am glad to have everyone here as my friend xo I hope you are feeling better soon xo

Mo - Awww....Mo we love ya !! I hope your Christmas spirit creeps out and gets the best of you !!

Uggh !! Too much caffeine (yes, there is such a thing,Bing !!) my heart is coming out of my chest - or that is the way it feels.

I hope everyone is okay and will feel better soon if you are feeling sick or down ! ((hugs))

I am going to go and "chill out" or try to and then try to get some rest. (((Hugs))) to all and also to our MMC Furkids, Ella, Snickers, Harlowe, Snowball, Gomez (and all of Xmas' kitties), CAHs Chihuahuas and kitties, Scooby, Sasha (Shellie's babies and also her birds !!), and all furkids everywhere.

Take care, dear Christmas family oxoxox
