Good afternoon,

We got back from taking the boys to the Dr's office they both have ear infections. LC woke up in the middle of the night screaming because of it. I am finally starting to feel better, a lot less pain today, but I am sure tonight it will come back.

Praying they all feel better quickly!

We just got word that my family's Christmas party that was scheduled on Sunday has been canceled, my aunt just called and said that my grandmother fell and hurt her arm, she is at the ER right now, she is in her late 80's I am very worried about her.

also will pray for your grandmother. Keep us posted!

Good afternoon, Christmas family !!
I am off for three days and really glad even though I don't get paid for being off on New Year's Day. I don't have any big plans, no New Year's Eve parties or anything like that. I will just be staying home with my furkids, my tree and watching the New Year come in with the usual dread that I have. I guess it's the Eeyore in me
I plan on watching some of the Christmas movies on Hallmark since this is the last weekend they will be on for a while.
I got a summons for Jury Duty this week. I have never been on a jury and will find out if I am required to serve the evening before.
Have a good afternoon Christmas family xoxo

Oh caninemom, we are truly kindred spirits! I am also not fond of new years eve. It has not held much appeal for me since my kids now all have their own place to go. I sometimes stay up, some times just go to bed. Still make the usual treats. This year my middle daughter will be coming over around 9 when she is done going bowling with friends. So at least this year it will be more than me and my snuggle bunny cat. So I will stay up to be here and bring in the countdown to a new year.
Here's praying that next year will be better than this year!

LOL

Environment Canada has issued a severe weather bulletin for areas north and east of Stratford.
A freezing rain warning has been posted for Kitchener, Cambridge, the Region of Waterloo, Guelph, Erin, southern Wellington County, Mount Forest and Arthur.
An area of rain over lower Michigan is moving into southern Ontario. As the temperature falls to the freezing mark, the precipitation could switch to freezing rain.
The freezing rain will begin in the Kitchener-Waterloo area late this afternoon and in Toronto around the dinner hour and work its way east.
Amounts will be in the 3 to 6 mm range.
you know, it would be nice if you folks in Michigan would just keep your weather on your side of the boarder! LOL If only it was that easy!
So, it looks like it is a good thing we have no were to go tonight. Hopefully it will have all blown over by tomorrow so we can go to visit my brother.

That makes 3 of us too I guess. I always always gets kinda sad as the 31st comes...I guess the word bittersweet comes to mind. Some years are worse than others this year I will be at home unless of course we are at the hospital having the baby. I never have been the kind to go out and party that night. I always liked to be home maybe with a few friends but thats about it! I need to come by here on the countdown thread though! these past few days I have been watching the last movies on hallmark, but thats making me sad now too.lol

Goodnight everyone! hope you all have a good night's rest! and rest up for tomorrow! I need to plan on being around here all day tomorrow!

I truly hate New Year's Day, to me it is the most depressing day of the year, it is when Christmas ends for most, and I hate to see the dwindling displays. I have always been a person mesmerized by the lights, even as a child I hated the end of the season. I begged my parents to keep the lights and the tree up until at least my birthday which was/is Jan. 7, I remember crying when the tree came down.

Finally heard more about my grandma, she broke her arm when she was putting on her coat, her bone just snapped. She is a tough old lady, when she goes to the dentist, she uses no Novocaine, or laughing gas, she has all the work done straight on. She said it was the worst pain she has ever felt, they gave her 3 shots of morphine to dull the pain. We are all worried that the cancer came back and weakened her bone, please keep her in your thoughts and prayers tonight.

So sorry to hear of your loss. I know what you mean by feeling a sense of "relief" when a loved one has finally stopped suffering. I use to not understand "relief" when people felt that way when a loved one died from a terminal illness until I was faced with it when my grandma passed. I held her hand until she took her last breath and was glad there was no more suffering but of course great sadness as well! She was not well and it was just not fair for her to go through that. It's not ugly for you to say that at all.

I know what you mean, and completely agree.

Coach we are all here for you - so sorry for your loss

Bones can get quite brittle as people age, will pray for her. Thanks for the update.

EXACTLY!!! That's the way I feel, I really don't watch Hallmark, the movies are a little to sugary sweet for my liking, but I feel comfort that they are still on. I hate how the rest of the world rushes to put Christmas to bed. That's why I have that idea of a year round Holiday movie cable channel. cheesy

I feel the same, but I like the sugary-ness but only at Christmas, I almost never watch Hallmark movies. The Christmas ones tho I do. But I agree the world around here rushes to put it away all rather too swiftly, why I think the idea of a year round Holiday movie cable channel is BRILLANT.

Sorry about this bad news we will be prayering for you and your family.
