I am going to skip out early, Happy New Year to you all once again. We have had a busy first day on the Countdown.

Merry 8th Day of Christmas and Happy New Year!

Good night all!

:hi:

I love a new countdown thread :D
Got the countdown points marked out on my calender this year so I can keep on track with presents and other things as hopefully by christmas this year I will be living in my own home rather than with my mum

I am not, nor ever will be, a record breaker!! The whole is greater than the part!!!

Wow, this is great! The posts are adding up faster than ever before...I checked!

2007 they did not even start until July 28 and then there was only 3 posts on the first day

2008 fared better with 18 posts on the first day the thread opened

2010 we went all the way up to 38 posts on January first

2011 was at 89.

This year it is already at 240 posts ....you know you do not have to break the record in one day Seawaters! LOL

That sounds SO exciting!!!

This is not meant to ha ha any posts. Several months past I “felt” (only on my own, NOT through what others said but what I saw others DO) to try to respond by multi-quoting. That just did not/does not fit my style. I felt as if I had to wade through several related posts and then go back to respond to others to which I wanted to respond, and I felt I was wasting people’s time. I also felt that I was skipping a lot of posts that I wanted to respond to individually. Then I realized that I wanted to read and respond as I felt led, not for any other reason. In my opinion it REALLY is a matter of personal preference. My idea was ONLY a SUGGESTION and not a directive or ultimatum to kick up the post count. TO ME that was an added benefit. I feel led to respond AS I GO ALONG and not as I read each day’s posts as a whole. ONLY in my opinion: the posts normally end up being the same word count, plus or minus; I, MYSELF just feel disjointed to read posts and respond to groups of posts rather than individual ones. At least on my side, the posts might be interjected with others to which I wish to respond, but not in the same subject-line. I am really sorry if I have offended anyone. That was not my intent.

:sparkle: Keep on being your jolly self, Seawaters. If I haven't got enough time to sift through 20 plus pages in a day, that's nobody's fault, it's just my reality. I don't think you've offended anyone.

RJD, I got a few of those children's albums and will see how my grandkids like them. I loved listening to them as a child. I especially love the the books that came with records and you change the page when the bell rings. Let's just hope the kids these days can enjoy listening to stories instead of just watching them on tv. I love tv too by the way!

I am off to watch the Cowboys play. If I don't return tonight, have a goodnight all! =)

really quick hello the g-men and cowboy game is starting - but WOW look at us how cool is that we are on a roll.

We tried to get tickets it was over 1,000 dollars ugh, but I am warm and toasty can't wait for this game to get going. OMG so excited

Watching it too!

Those tickets are costly!

I sometimes love it when a bell rings. Either an angel is getting his/her wings OR class is over and time for a (potty) break!!!

I've never liked to multi quote and hardly ever use it. I know a lot of people like it but to me it was just easier to respond to each message. I guess it's just a matter of personal preference.

I still have some 45's of the old storybooks on vinyl, mostly fables and nursery rhymes I think. I'll have to pour over those one of these days.
