Good morning everyone!

I trust that you all had a wonderful Halloween. I saw nothing but good things from my friends in Ottawa and back in Sault Ste. Marie on my facebook wall. Lots of my friends are starting to come to grips with the fact that we are indeed "getting old(er)." And, I say that in the form of assuming responsibilities. Since I'm 27, a lot of my friends range from about 24 to 32. Yes, adulthood is upon a lot of us.

Kim and I had a nice quiet night. She is still being bothered by her back, so we just laid on the couch all night and watched a two hour special of X-Factor. I don't normally watch karaoke shows, but I can be entertained by them once in a while. The good news is that she is feeling a little better today. Still not good enough to go to work. Maybe tomorrow.

As I posted in the Christmas Commercials 2012 thread, I saw my first Christmas commercial last night. It was for Petsmart! It promoted their "Holiday" sale this weekend. Christmas was everywhere in the commercial. I was excited! Now that Halloween is over, I'm sure we'll all be flooded and excited by the Christmas commercials appearing on our screen throughout the next two months. Indeed, the Season is nearly upon us!

Speaking of signs of the Season... The Christmas Blossoms thread is getting a little lonely. We're slightly behind last year's record breaking pace. I urge everyone to start photographing and sharing the magical sights that have already surrounded you as we head into the Christmas Season!

One more day of work and then it will be Friday. The final day of the work week. I'm excited, but I have my last two days of my contract to finish next week and then I don't really know where I will be working following the 6th. I have heard some rumblings, but I just hope they come into fruition.

Have a great Thursday, everyone! There is only one month left until the calendar turns to the most magical month of the year. A month of celebration, family, friends, and unlimited good times.

Brent hope Kim's back isn't serious, you hear how that can be very bad for people. Thanks for the Christmas Blossoms Thread I have a hard time posting pix of also taking them with my phone, I always use the excuse I am tech-ee challanged but it really comes down to I don't want to learn but I really should no excuse!!! Good idea on the Christmas Commercial WOOOO HOOO love it ~ Now I will not touch on your age remark you and your friends are but mere babes!!! LOL

I'm sorry. My bag was just to full put all of that candy in (it was all for me, right?) So I borrowed your bowl to bring it home in. I planned to bring it back today. I promise.

Good show Made you always know how to put a positive and Christmasy take on things!!!

I had the best time ever last night!!! I have been wanting to go Trick-or-Treating with my grandchildren for the last few years but something would come up and I ended up staying home to pass out candy, which is fine but I love Trick-or-Treating!

My daughter and son-in-law have been so busy working overtime and have some other obligations to take care of and were feeling bad that they might not be able to take the kids out for candy. It's not like they haven't done a lot already for Halloween (carnival, fair, Six Flags, etc.) but might miss out on Trick-or-Treating. I told them we (my mother and I) want to take them really bad! They just hate to ask me or expect me to do anything extra for the kids as far as watching them since I watch them full time while they work but I wanted to take them! My daughter and son-in-law were afraid I was doing too much??? This is fun!

We took them to a neighborhood that I use to take my kids to. Memories! They go all out in this neighborhood! I think I had just as much fun as they did. Then afterward we took them to dinner at El Chicos restaurant. All kids got to eat free for Halloween. 5 of us ate for only 15 bucks but we tipped well! It was a good dinner!

I am so glad you all had fun and enjoyed your night of Halloween fun!!!

I suppose you need me to wash the bowl out before you return it? Ahh! The dishwashing never ends!

Wow Made really knows how to crack that whip doesn't he!!! But, it is for Judemamma maybe we can let him slide for being so tough!!!

Yep!!!! Would you mine scrubbing out my oven while your here too?

Ok hold it up... scrub the oven too!!!!!!

Is anyone else feeling extra giddy today??? It's that November 1st giddiness that I cannot shake and don't want to! If I don't get any of my Christmas decorations out today, I will at least put all my regular coffee mugs away and bring out the Christmas ones!!!

Time to do the happy dance!!! Please join me in dancing!!!

Speaking of Binger, we haven't heard from them since they reported that there Starbucks didn't have any power. Maybe we need to send a search party with some emergency rations.

Okay, I have a bit of a rant this morning!!

So Out of pure excitement today, I posted on Fb Happy November 1st, Trees are going up today.
a couple moments later, i see another post about how People shouldn't be putting up decorations for Christmas till after November 11, Remembrance day, out of respect.

I commented & let her know that As I am very excited for The following season, That I Do respect Anything, everyone & Everything to do with Nov.11, And that only my inside decorations were going up. Well in response, I got to each their own, I don't even think about Christmas till that day is done.

This ticks me off!! I do respect Nov. 11, the veterans & all the men & women still fighting for our freedom. I wear my poppy Proud, & I always have my moment of silence.. And when I can, I go to Ceremonies to honour those fallen & still fighting. I don't mean any disrespect to those who fought for us to be free & Still do!!
I don't or didn't mean to offend anyone, but I guess I did. It just sucks, because to me, Putting up my tree doesn't me I am being disrespectful... I'm just excited.

Sometimes facebook feels like a lifestyle debate. :x

I have never heard of this! That's a new one, for sure. I wouldn't worry about offending anyone, that just sounds like someone being officious--and passive aggressive to boot, as it doesn't sound like that person commented directly on your post. FB tends to bring out some people's worst side is all.

Will those emergency rations be regular or decaf?

WARNING:

In recent studies, some Christmas songs have shown to cause:

  • Spontaneous singing and, in rare cases, dancing among those who participated.
  • Long-term use of some Christmas songs can cause the song in question to become lodged in the mind.
  • Christmas songs can be extremely contagious and be passed to others within a close proximity.

They're also addictive!

Yay, it's November 1st! What a nice Halloween we had--my church does an awesome haunted church every year and DH and I helped out last night. He was at the money table and I was giving out candy at the exit. We had soooooo many people, and everyone seemed to love it! And the kids' costumes were so cute. And now I get to look forward to Thanksgiving and Advent, and then Christmas! I'm so excited, the year just flew past. I'm sure this will be a much happier holiday than last year for my family.

Well, I'm off to eat some lunch and go light a candle at the cathedral in honor of All Saints and All Souls Days. Have a lovely day, all!

Yes, Jayish lives in NJ. RJD heard from him after the storm and they are okay.

I saw a couple of pictures from the WTC site of water pouring in but they never really said anything else about it.

Oh good, thx for the Update. Unfortunately, we are still pumping water out... what a viscous cycle at 1st all we could do was keep pumping water out that only spilled back in as it had no where to go, now it is "drying out" they are going to look at the design and see if they can amend the water walls which I think is a good thing

Of course! Especially when the Puppini Sisters chime in with their part!

I love that part... I love it with Bing Cosby and the Andrew Sisters, I love it with Barry Manilowe and Expose sign it and I love this one too

I sure do like his version of, "All I Want for Christmas is You" better than Mariah Carey's. Just my opinion! I know most like hers best and nothing wrong with that!

Oh me too - me too... I have to admit I don't all care for Mariah, I know that sounds bad right I don't mean it harmful like there is just something about her I just do not care for

Now this is a GREAt study!!! Hmm, I think I will need to test these finding further myself..... ****puts on Christmas CD of The Rat Pack****

A dozen lashes for the self-deprecating negativity! Everybody raise your hand who listens to RJD!

:-)

Doggone it, man, you have your own fan club listening to the Greasy Skillet every week with real-time interaction! "Two or three." For shame.

My 3 year granddaughter just looked over my shoulder while I am on here and asked, "Is it Christmas on your computer"???

Now back to hanging out with her and listen to some Christmas music together!
