Check out number 14. It is gorgeous!
Good morning everyone,
Could it be? Are we truly ready to celebrate the beginning of the Christmas Season tonight? The day has finally arrived. The count is officially down to ONE. Tonight, we will countdown, as Crown said, in real time to the most wonderful time of the year. The Christmas Season is nearly upon us.
Despite having my Christmas Tree up for the past week, I am excited to share photos of my 4-foot tree in its all glory as soon as the Season begins. Also, even though the apartment has been decorated since putting up said tree, I have not yet turned on my musical Christmas lights. That doesn't happen until the beginning of the Season. Waiting for the Season for the same music I loved and adored as a child brings back the greatest of memories.
As a child, I longed for the days of sitting at my grandparents house and sitting beside their tree while listening to the magical sounds of Christmas. I've mentioned this before, but I always feel the need to express my attachment each year. My grandparents left their house about or 11 years ago. My grandfather passed away (suddenly) in 2005. He was my hero and role model growing up. With my love for Christmas and family, I always feel that he is watching over me even more closely during the Christmas Season. And, of course, when the lights are dancing to the sounds of the Christmas music, it feels as if he is right beside me. Such a wonderful and magical time of the year. I'm excited to countdown with you all tonight.
If it weren't in the countdown and our excitement, I would be concerned that the Christmas Season is not tomorrow. The temperature in Ottawa is currently 10c (50f). We are forecasted to reach about 16c (61f). That's not Ottawa Christmas Season weather?! Thankfully, the weather will return to seasonal as of tomorrow. Highs of about 6c and lows into the negatives.
Well, I hope everyone has a wonderful final weekend before the Christmas Season. Tonight, we countdown in real time to celebrate the beginning of the Christmas Season. We've counted down all year for this moment. It may not yet be Christmas, but tonight will allow Christmas to truly Blossom and take over the world. Yes, Christmas music, decorations and spirit will be in full swing.
Have a great Monday everyone. The Christmas Season is coming! See you all throughout the day... and, especially tonight!
It is chilly here in northern California, but absolutely no snow in the forecast. I was wrong about my appointment time. It changes TOMORROW and not today. I will be on later when I return and plan to be on throughout the day and evening. I am not sure how long I will last, though! You might not believe it, but these bones are getting old(er)!!!
thanks Crown. i won't be here that late but i will celebrate w/ y'all in my dreams. No set time. Folks just start drifting in during the latter part of the evening.
However, we like to have things in place by no later than 11:00 PM EST. If you come after that, you're likely to miss most of the action!
Thank you, Made, I almost forgot about the Season starting at midnight! That would have been too bad!
I'm home today with sciatica. I was home yesterday with sciatica. Sciatica is getting to be like that house guest that doesn't know when to leave. It pops up unexpectedly, and it's a pain in the seat. Ah well, I worked on my Christmas Cards yesterday to take my mind off of it, and got them all done. Now I'm working on a Sunday School Christmas Pageant for a small number of kids. The commercially available ones always assume you have this huge Sunday School, and we just don't. It's fun to see what I can come up with each year. After I'm done with the pageant, I guess I'll drag a kitchen chair into the living room, and 'fluff up the tree'. I'm not sure what Hubby did to it last year when he put it away, but it looks like it's going to need a lot of fluffing. It's looking kind of congealed right now.

mmmmm sounds good!I just finished making homemade chicken salad for sandwiches. Yumo! I am also going to make enchildas, just a small batch. I have to finish report cards by hand. This was our first year for computer-generated ones, but the principal locked us out as of last night. Sure, when we have today off and could have worked on them today. I just have NO CLUE for her reasoning!
