Christmas Countdown - 2012

:-? I missed the Christmas Season extravaganza! Humbug on myself.

However, I was celebrating in my own special way, holding my merry friends dear.

In honour of our journey to the merry start of another joyous season, I present ... a song that came to me in the shower.

In the early 70’s when Liberace came to my town, the young Australian performer, Jamie Redfern, performed this song; my brother had the authographed album. The day of the countdown to the start of the season, the song was playing in my head and I started inserting my own Christmas thoughts into it and so came about my idea for this new song.


Searching For a Merry Feeling

I went searching for a merry feeling
I headed into the downtown core
Cedar boughs, lights and bows adorned the shops
Sale signs in every window and on every door

I went searching for a merry feeling
Spotted a couple huddled in a doorway, less fortunate than I
Carollers standing on every other corner
Church Bells resonating across the sky

I went searching for a merry feeling
Headed out onto a country road
I came upon a living Nativity
The wise farmer approached, carrying a heavy load

The stranger understood what I was seeking
And this is what I was told,
“If you are search for a merry feeling
You will search until your body turns cold.

I’m sure you know joy is something from within
Filled with the traditions and celebrations you hold dear
If it vanishes from your city
It’s up to you to keep it near.”

I went home feeling rather silly
For having doubted what I knew all along
The merry feeling we all hold deep inside
Pumps through me with a fresh new song.

I woke up from my daydream in the shower
Knowing I had to share with all my friends
The secret to keeping very merry at Christmas
Is sharing memories; I hope it never ends.

The final milestone...my how far we have come....hasn't it been fun? The best part is that so much fun remains....we still have Thanksgiving...the parade....Christmas Eve, Christmas.....and the Darlene Love show....

Yesterday was magical! My Mom (yes I'm a mother's boy) went shopping with us...I know that yall probably think "Crap Ballcoach...does Mom go everywhere with yall?" Yea, she does! My Dad is home about 10 days a year (except for Thanksgiving and Christmas) and my brother only comes home during Christmas (and barely returns her calls), so I feel like I'm her protector...anyways....

We went to eat, we looked at Christmas decor, Mom bought one of those easy snap trees that we see on QVC, and we all had a Pumpkin Spice Latte...

On a serious note....

Mecka, I'm truly sorry. You and Bo are in my thoughts....

Britt...I've been there. My ex-girlfriend (who was my fiancé) cheated on me as we were 6 months away from our wedding date...all because she said she was alone and I worked too much. Hello!!!! No one else was working and we had bills! There are no words that can make it easier. But some steps in life are harder to take more than others, but they all lead us to where we are supposed to be....had it not been for her wanting to move...had it not been for her pushing me to take the job that I didn't want...I would have never found my wife...and let me tell ya...I'm so glad that she was in my life because she led me to the love of my life...sending you my love, thoughts, and prayers....

and if you need it....I still got a mean ballcoach bat swing....I can bust some kneecaps for you if I need...

Just kidding....well...kinda....maybe....

Coach I for one applaud you for being close with your dear mother. I think it is wonderful. Believe me, if mine were still here that is where I would be - hanging out and doing things with her. Kudos to you !! xoxo

Thomas just left for work. May be his last day up in the air.

Thomas work in SAS (Scandinavian Airlines) and we will know today at midnight
if they are going bankrupt or whatever happens next.
So he might not have work tomorrow!!!
I think we need all the prayers that we can get...

I really did't think it should come to this.
Well, 8 hours till midnight.... fingers crossed.

Good morning, dear Christmas family


It is very cold here this morning. I have the Hallmark channel on and it is the movie about Thomas Kinkade. I never realized how much he struggled as a young man. He was a wonderful artist. I think he had some major problems all his life but yet he shared his gift with us.

In quite a bit of pain right now but no matter, it will go away eventually. I have to work later on but that is okay too. Thank the good Lord I have a job I can do from home and that I have a job.

has anyone ever had this happen?....

last night @ the class i noticed a slight tingly feeling in my left jaw close to the back where the top & bottom of the jaw connect. felt funny, not painful. then this a.m. it felt more close to the ear canal under my ear. by afternoon my face/ear area was swollen & uncomfortable. i had hubby put warm peroxide in my ear several times & let it soak trying to open it up maybe. i have an herb pillow i put in the microwave & have laid that side on the pillow. i found some extra antibiotics in the med. cabinet & have started tasking them. i know i don't have anything wrong w/ my teeth as i just recently had a dental check up & x-rays. do y'all think it's the ear?

Well mmc how yours sunday going?
I have the fenceing all painted
A while back i got some of the street decor that used to be put up in the town about 10 years ago so i took some of them and sat and took them apart i took mostly lanterns about 2 foot high so have them stripped down just to leave the lantern shell . have to rewire them i might put a couple together again and a few i might keep in 2 halfs ,put a back on them so they can go on a wall really like them they look victorian looking
And have been listenng to christmas musc all day so far . and have just made a pot of chicken soup, and scooby is laying on sofa snoaring his heart out and the big log fire is on lifes good ~}
