Good morning everyone.. we were lucky enough to get about 2.5 inches of snow yesterday. It was beautiful and the kids had a blast playing. Really put me in the spirit, big time!

Unfortunately, we lost our cat last night. We had to put him to sleep due to a urinary blockage leading to kidney failure. He's never been in great health but we tried to give him a good life. My poor husband was so close to him and is taking this hard. It's such a hard thing. It's very strange not to have a pet now. We've always had at least 1 pet since we have been together for the last 10 years but not anymore. I don't know if I can handle going through something like that again. I don't know that we will get another cat. :(

That is terrible news, judesmama. A pet is a family member, especially one that brought joy to you and yours for a decade. It is tough, but I hope that you all manage to get over it soon. There is nothing like a pet around the house to brighten spirits. It's lonely without one! My girlfriend and I have been talking about getting (at least) one for years... We can't because our roommate is allergic. However, as soon as one of us moves, we'll be sure to find one for our next place. With that said, again, I hope that you all remember the good times the cat brought. All the best to you and your family during this difficult time.

How are you feeling Made ?? I hope that cough is better !!! xo How is the rest of your family who are sick ???

The cough is starting to get better. I managed to get by with taking the cough syrup only twice yesterday. My aunt, BIL, and Niece are doing pretty good too. My mom is lagging behind but I think she was finally starting to feel better this morning.

Morning, everyone!

I am just staying at home for the day. I am still really sick. I hope and pray each night that I will wake up in the morning feeling better, but that's just not happening! I need to lay off of the ibuprofen, it's starting to upset my stomach. I should be getting the lab results of the strep test today even though the rapid said negative.

Well, hope you are all better than I am! Don't work too hard today!

I hope you feel better soon Jennifer.

Good morning everyone,

It's a quiet Wednesday at work. I'm sure the work will pile up eventually, however, we seem to be missing a lot of staff. The weather network currently says that we are receiving some light snow, but I don't see it. Not to worry, though, there remains snow on the ground! Unfortunately, it appears as if the snow may melt this weekend. We're in for about five days above freezing as soon as the calendar turns to December. Strange.

I hope everyone has included Christmas somewhere in their week so far! Kim and I watched The Muppet Christmas Carol on Blu Ray last night. A classic favourite with an updated and stunning picture. It's always a joy to laugh along with the film. Perhaps we will have another Christmas movie to watch tonight!

Not many new happenings. We're nearly halfway through the workweek. Only another couple hours and we're descending toward the weekend. The first weekend of December! Until then, I hope the Christmas Spirit is near you today. Merry Christmas!

It is raining here in northern California this morning. Time to leave for radiation, so TTYL. As Made always says, Have a GREAT DAY!

Good Morning MMC!!!!! It's another cool day here in Central Indy where we currently stand at 32 degrees. I have a few errands to run today and then it's going to be back home to plan what I'm going to do when I win that $500 million tonight. I'm seeing a very large log cabin in Santa Claus, Indiana and a few guest cabins for all of you to use. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!

Good Wednesday morning, my Christmas friends!

It was a rainy day yesterday, but we had a great groundbreaking ceremony at the new retirement village going up next to Bellville. They are planning to employ up to 100 people! They'll have cottages near the pond for older couples who can still take care of themselves, dorms for singles who can take care of themselves but want other people nearby, then rooms for those with medical needs, and finally a hospice facility. I had no idea it was going to be so large. Bernie is already excited about the prospect of having so many more people in Bellville every day. The store sill be so busy!

We're supposed to meet this afternoon to sort out the city Christmas lights and banners for the poles down the main street. I'm ready to decorate! Since I was out of town last weekend, nothing got done (of course), so we are going to try to get it done during the week.

I hope y'all have a great day! cheesy

Thank you all for the kind words, thoughts, and prayers. They help immensely and I am thankful for this great Christmas family!

Good afternoon, all! I'm back from our Pre-Christmas/Anniversary/Vacation trip, and now I'm trying to get caught up at work. We had some excitement on our trip this year. Sunday morning at about 4:45 am, the fire alarm went of at our hotel, forcing an evacuation into the (very cold and dark) parking lot. I must say that was the loudest fire alarm I've ever heard, and I think hubby and I pulled on our clothes and made it to the outside door in under 2 minutes. What a wake up call! Then, yesterday on the way home, our car engine blew out. Literally. My sister had to come get us, and our car is still in Pennsylvania, waiting for the reconditioned engine to arrive from North Carolina. Thank goodness for Sisters!

Otherwise, it was a splendid trip. We saw Christmas Village, the National Christmas center, Christkindlemarkt Bethlehem, the Central Moravian Church Putz, Roadside America, Choo Choo Barn, the PA Railroad Museum, and many covered bridges. It was very relaxing, and now I'm all refreshed and ready for Christmas. Fortunately my Hubby and I work different times of day, so sharing one car should be no problem. It could be worse, and at least it broke down on the last day of vacation, and not the first.

.....Any truth to the rumor that Carl is considering buying the Twinkies brand if it comes up for sale??
Well, it's always been a secret just how much money is in the Shispering Pines treasury, but if there's enough, it wouldn't surprise me!

Update on Guinness

Update on Guinness, from his owner---good news!

Here is an update on Guinness:

He is currently at the hospital doing great. Apparently, the steriods have reduced the size of the lump considerably. So there is no reason to cut his chest open. So NO SURGERY! :)

Guinness is having a biopsy to see what this thing really is and if it will become a problem in the future. I'm picking him up this afternoon and I'll bring him in tomorrow :)

Thanks to donations from co-workers, Guinness's owner only had to pay half the cost of the hospital stay.

Thanks for all of your well-wishes!

good morning y'all! how's it?

i've been trying to do some online shopping here & there. been super busy @ work. working on a couple of projects for our open house Saturday.

i have 4 new Christmas puzzles & i'm still on the 1st 1. i'm embarrassed to say it but it's only 500 pcs. & i can't get it! let's just say my eyes aren't what they used to be & blame it on the lighting, yeah that's it...the lighting. lol

i still can't believe I sat around all weekend watching Christmas movies & doing nothing. my family had done so much prep for Thanksgiving it was like we were just give out & needed a break. we definitely got it!

taking things slow this season. planning things to do & not rushing through it all. i want to enjoy every minute of this wonderful time of the year.

made my baking list & what i need for it & buying a little along.
my b-i-l has to work Christmas day so we are changing things up a bit & having Christmas Eve w/ him & my folks. my rents will head to the beach on Christmas morning to be w/ my sister & the family there. we are going down the weekend before to spend w/ them. they can't handle us all @ the same time & my Mama & Daddy like to be w/ my great nephews Christmas day. it will just be me, hubby, & the kids Christmas Day. we have never done that so I think it might be nice for us.

enjoy this Christmas day y'all! God bless each one of you!

Merry Christmas!!!!!:celebrate:

I am not good at puzzles myself. Sounds like a very nice little Christmas for your family this year.
