Wayne and I took our oldest grandson (8 years old) out yesterday all over town doing Christmasy Things! He spent the night Friday then Saturday we went to 2 malls to take in some free entertainment, had a visit with Santa, went out to lunch, and a did a few other things. We ended the night driving around looking at Christmas lights. I am wiped out today! We started the day around 9 am and didn't get home until almost 9 pm.

Next week we plan to take my younger grandson (6 years old) out for the day then while Wayne is on vacation we will take my 3 year old granddaughter out for the day.

Wayne and I do this with the kids each year. We started a tradition for the kids to have some one on one time with us every December running around having Christmas fun. It's great because each child has a different interest in what they like doing so we focus on one child and let them pick and plan their special day. They really enjoy it very much!

Snowflake already said it, but I know those grandkids are going to have VERY special memories to look back on in years to come. A very special gift--- you're giving them a Christmas Past.

No plans today, so if I can get myself moving I should go to the supermarket and buy fresh ingredients for cookies. Must make Mr.'s favorites chocolate chip cookies with coconut! If I can summon up the courage, maybe I'll try a rolled-out cookie this year. I've never successfully rolled out cookies, but I've got a yen for my mom's sugar cookies---and I even have her old cutters in Christmas shapes. I dug out old Mrs. Spurrier's recipe that my mom used, but I may chicken out.

Wishing you a Christmas-ful Sunday!

Sounds like a perfect evening!

Pretty darn close to perfect! And there should be a few more of those before the Big Day! If Mr. isn't too busy, maybe we'll have another movie tonight. If he is busy, we can have an old-time radio evening.

Hilarious!

I see Binger has taught his elf a few tricks.

Next Sunday at this time the World's Largest Christmas Party should be under way. Wonder what's planned? I can't believe the calendar has come around that far again. It doesn't seem that long ago since we were chatting online and listening to JayIsh broadcasting live on MCR! Hoping to hear some of you if there are call-ins.

It is a little chilly here in northern California. Hubby and I went to Mass last night and came home to watch the Heisman presentation. How exciting. I also heard the sad news of the death of a football player and the charge made against another one for his manslaughter because of DUI. I had to just take some meds, so I am going to let it kick in. Hello everyone! I hope that you all guys are enjoying your Sunday.

I must admit that my week went pretty well. I had two examinations which went better than I had expected. ^^ I also had a Christmas concert last night at the memorial church of the campus. The concert was quite religious although entertaining at the same time. University's gospel choir arrived from Glasgow and performed many beautiful Christmas carols. Town band played lovely Christmas songs, and students did Christmas-related readings. I did one of them as well. Thankfully, it went perfectly. ^^ I have just realized that there is only a week left till my trip home. A week! Only one more exam and HOME ON SUNDAY! I'm super excited! There is A LOT of snow in Lithuania right now! Can't wait to enjoy it while I'll be there! ^^ Stay warm, cozy and in Christmas spirit everyone.

Seawaters, Thank you so much for my year round reminder that I have cookie cutters because I plan to put them to good use tomorrow. Do you know where I put them???

MerryCarey, Good luck on your rolled cookies and wish me luck as well! Christmasstar, we need a thread on baking tips!!! :D

Gabulldawg, I hope Snowball gets well!

My sister, BIL, and oldest niece are doing better. My aunt went back to the doctor on friday to get another round of antibotics and I think me and mom are going to end up there tomorrow. We just can't seem to get rid of this cough.

My niece has been really hurting. She goes in monday for her next infusion and they are going to up her dosage of the medicine.

Praying you get some relief soon.
Praying for everyone!!!

That looks like a ton of cookies, made!

We had a great evening watching the Basil Rathbone version of "The Stingiest Man in Town." So complex for a live production. The director must have had nerves of steel! I loved it last year, and I'm even more impressed with it this year. We also looked at the 1959 Lawrence Welk Christmas show, which was also a treat. Both on the big screen via the video projector! With popcorn, and Coke in glass bottles.

Good night!

Sounded like a good night, why does Coke always taste better in glass bottles?

Sounds like it could be a messy day later, hope I will be able to get home again after work. Taking along a small suitcase just in case I have to spend the night at my brothers place.

Off to work again and then have tomorrow off.

Hope you all have a great day!!!

Keep safe out there, Star and have safe travels!
