I had taken this picture of my cat, Charlie, napping yesterday in the little Christmas village I have on my desk. I see that Christmasstar's cat loves playing Catzilla too!!!

Good Wednesday morning, my Christmas friends!

We're getting a little much-needed rain...yay!

I took Jacob to his guitar lesson yesterday, then did the shopping run while Nancy stayed with her mom at home. While we were out, we stopped at Hobby Lobby, and I have to say, it's really picked over. Not a lot of Christmas stuff left. What a dissappointment. Oh well.

A few days ago, Jacob found my old banjo in my bedroom closet at my parent's house. A friend gave it to me when he gave up on it. I messed around with it for a while, but never really learned to play it. Jacob had a fit over it when he found it, so we took it home and I bought new strings for it yesterday. Just what I need...a new project...LOL!

I hope y'all have a great day! cheesy

shocker at work, boss put out schedule till Jan 4th...that is not totally shocking, but somewhat because she usually only does a week at a time.

The true shocker is that I agreed to work close on new years eve, which put me off at 11 pm, home by 11:30, just in time to bring in the new year with my son.
Well, the schedule says we are staying open until 1:30am!!! We are never open that late and I never would agree to work until that time. So I am going to call her later and see what is going on. If true I will be refusing to work that night past the usual 11pm hour. If she wants to be open that long she can come in and do it.

She should have asked for volunteers to work that late first, I hope it works out for you.

Good morning everyone!

I was a little late for work yesterday -thanks to my doctor's appointment - and didn't have time to check in. Sorry! It seems as if most of you are doing well, however. Best of luck to those others that are trying to get back on track.

In regards to my doctor's appointment, I have good news. Apparently, I was reading into my ultrasound doctor's monotone voice and facial expressions too much - those crazy Russians! My doctor looked at my scans and I do not require surgery. In fact, I didn't even tear my meniscus. I may have had a slight (Grade 1) tear in my LCL, but it has recovered and barely showed on the ultrasound. With that said, I only require Active Release Therapy in hopes to rid myself of this nasty patellar tendonitis.

Two unfortunate things about ART - I'm not covered... It should be about $250 total. I just hope it works! And, it will more than likely be the most excruciating pain I will ever feel. I have a friend that did it a couple months ago and they basically cut off all the circulation to the injured area and then grind out the scar tissue/inflammation. Sounds wonderful, doesn't it? Still, as long as it works, it will be very much worth it once complete.

Kim and I watched Elf last night. We almost watched it last week, but we were happy to delay it until last night. It still makes both of us laugh. It is always a fantastic film! I think I will have to bring it home to watch during my time in Sault Ste. Marie, too. There are a couple classics I have to watch at least twice during the year.

Also, we might be joining Kim's best friend and her boyfriend on a Christmas light expedition this evening. I'm excited! I'll be sure to take photos. Apparently there are a few upper class neighbourhoods around Ottawa/Orleans that have beautiful displays. I haven't experienced it yet, and I look forward to sharing the photos on the Blossoms thread!

Have a great Wednesday everyone! Only one more 'Pines Day before Christmas! How can that be? Carl continues to go all out. The Christmas decorations are beautiful and the food is delicious. The camel knows how to do it! But, how come nobody has tried the fruit cake?! :) Hope all is well with you all. Keep enjoying the Christmas Season. Merry Christmas!

I am happy to hear the good news.

The sign in front of Carl's fruit caked says "A recipe from Carl's family since 1962! Celebrating 50 years!" I think everyone thinks it was made since 1962.

One of my cats likes to play "Kat Kong," when he climbs the tree and knocks the ornaments off.

I have one favorite banjo based song, just a fun catchy tune.

Listen for Good King Wenceslas played in the middle. cheesy

Have fun with the new project learning it.

Good morning,

It's Wednesday...blah, blah, blah...don't want to go.

I have major vacation brain today, less than two weeks and I will have my first vacation* in 1.5 years. The only problem is I am not feeling too Christmassy today, I feel like I am just going through the motions right now. I hope this will pass quickly.

I leave in a little more than an hour now.

Thinking of everyone ... one day closer to a day off to bake cookies, wrap gifts, and maybe visit the garden center again, now that their Christmas is in full swing and they have a food truck selling hot mac 'n' cheese ...

I finished all my baking yesterday. It's so much fun but I am glad it's only once a year. Wow! It sure is a lot of work! I did get help from my granddaughter and son. While my granddaughter and I baked some goodies we played Christmas songs real loud and sang and danced at the same time. She had a blast and couldn't wait to tell her parents she did baking. My son and I were up last night decorating the sugar cookies while listening to Dean Martin Christmas music!

My theory is: They're not true Christmas cookies unless Christmas music is playing while you're mixing them and baking them. You're doing it exactly right! I haven't tried adding dancing to the recipe.

We need to start a Catzilla thread for photos of cats among the Christmas decorations! We could start a new Internet meme! cheesy

Enjoy your vacation!

As for not feeling Christmassy, just "going through the motions"---I had the same thing earlier this week ... it came out of nowhere and was miserable. It eased up yesterday, but I'm not feeling as "glittery" as I was in previous weeks. I hope yours fades away soon, 'cause I know how miserable it feels.

Good morning, Christmas family !

I am sitting here waiting for the doctors to catch up with me ! All the dictation is typed and they are being real slow pokes about doing more.......Oh well, that's okay. If there isn't any by 10:30 I will go and lay on the couch a little bit and then check back. Such is the life of a transcriptionist at home.........

I loved Michael Buble's special. I think he gets better and better. I also thought Rod Stewart did an okay job. Who would ever think he could sing Christmas music ?

Have a great day, Christmas family. I may be back really soon !

Good Morning MMC!!! We are going to start warming back up today here in central Indy. It looks like we should reach the mid 40's this afternoon. I have nothing to do today. So it looks like a day full of Christmas movies and music for me. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!

I thought they were all meant to taste like that anyway!? :)

It's not guaranteed to work, but at least the success rate is positive.

Sounds heavenly---Christmas movies and music all day, with nothing better to do!

No, brent, believe it or not ... my parents made fruitcakes (from an old family recipe) that friends and neighbors BEGGED for.

My first (and only) experience with fruitcake was when I was 11 years old, I had just had my appendix out and it was served as dessert with my meal in the hospital. The only problem was that I had my appendix out in late February, and the fruitcake tasted nasty. cheesy I never have been able to work up the courage to try it again, even though I know how bad some hospital food could be.
