Same here! I have been thinking all this time that I am the only Christmas fanatic in my whole family but I am realizing a lot of the things I love about Christmas came from my dad! He is not quite the fanatic like me but I have a lot of favorite movies and songs because of him. No matter how silly he acts all the time he is a sentimental guy as well. I love how he has been telling me about all the Hallmark Christmas movies that he has been watching. He watched a whole lot more than I have this year! Because of this, I am becoming more and more sentimental about a lot of things involving Christmas when I pay attention to others around me.

Once again we are so alike. I am the ONLY Christmas fanatic in my family. I always have been. Your dad sounds just so wonderful. Again, a very Merry Christmas to you and your family and special (((HUGS))) to your dear dad from me and my furkids xoxo

We watched Christmas Vacation last night too, after the kids went to bed. Nothing beats Cousin Eddie!

Wayne and I watched it too on TCM even though we have it on DVD so it was nice that we all watched it together! Merry Christmas to you too!!!

Would you like to add 2 more furry kids to your shout out? I had mentioned we had 2 strays come up missing for 6 months and they showed up recently! Their names are Mama and Larry Jr. Mama because she is the one who started the stray cat population around here but not too worry, we had her fixed and got her shots! Larry Jr. is the son of my favorite stray named, Larry. Larry has been missing for a year and I miss him dearly! He is such a sweetie that I am hoping someone took him in.

I love the sentence about the past becoming long than the future. I feel the same way, and it really does make one stop and think. I know that when we are young we really never think like that, but it does hit us as we get older. Thanks for a wonderful year so far, Count.

I seem to get more and more sentimental about Christmas as time moves on.
As the years mount and my past becomes longer than my future, this time gets to be more and more precious.

I hear just what you are saying. I like the part about paying attention to others around me. It is so true when we realize that one day that person will no longer be here and when we realize that we are "that person" for someone else. It is sad and glorious at the same time.
