Good Morning MMC!!!! It's a cold day here in central Indy with a high near 30 degrees predicted for this afternoon. I have a lot to get done today so you probably won't see me much but I wanted to stop in and tell you all to have a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!

Good Friday morning, my Christmas friends!

I'm at work today. There are three of us in our engineering department, and the boss took off the whole week, so my co-worker and I had to decide which one of us would man the office. He worked Wed & Thurs, so I'm here today. We're closed again Mon & Tues.

My brother and I worked on the camaro all day yesterday. We pulled the hood, front bumper & grill, and both front fenders off. Now to get them sandblasted, painted and re-installed. Fun, fun!

I hope y'all have a great day! cheesy

Are you and Mr. going to watch some vintage films for New Years Eve?

Yes, indeedy---that's what New Year's Eve is made for! We'll probably be watching the big screen throughout the weekend and into New Year's Day, both DVDs and 16mm film. With so much to choose from (including all the new DVDs we got for Christmas), it's impossible to say what we'll wind up watching, but we often pull out "Pocketful of Miracles" around this time.

I was happy to hear that the Today Show reported a poll of when people take down there Christmas decorations. Here are the results:

41% Leave them up until January 6
30 "something" % until January 1 (I couldn't remember the exact figure)
only 17% Day after Christmas

There was 1% said leave them up all year
The rest said it all comes down by Valentines Day

I am glad the high percentage said keep them up that long!!! I figured that it would be a lot more that took them down the day after.

I'm an "until January 6th," myself. Except I usually take my desktop tree home from the office before the New Year's holiday. But this morning the CFO said, "Aren't you supposed to leave them up until January 6th?" So I said, "I'll do that!" I've got a little tree in my little barn, too.

After New Year's, though, it gets me a little sad seeing the trees, after the rest of the world has put Christmas out of their minds (and hearts, it seems). So the 6th is the right time for me to put them away and let them recharge their magic for the next season.

I just realized---if Seawaters retires, we'll have a full-time pilot for the Learjet! :???:

We're supposed to get a few inches of snow tomorrow. It'll look beautiful, but it'll gum up getting around tomorrow. Gotta get ingredients for Chex mix for my New Year's Eve movie munching!

Good evening, friends~

I did some catching up, but didn't get to read all of the posts.

Seawaters, congrats on your news!! When do you think you'll retire?!
So happy for you!

xmas, very glad that JP is going to be ok. I'll keep him in my prayers that his follow up goes well.

CM3, Wish is home... :-D Yay!!!! Please give him a special hug for us. And make it a big one! I'll keep you guys in my prayers. xo

We are probably going to disconnect everything tomorrow. I'll be going nuts, not being able to check in. I'm looking forward to when we are all settled in our new place. And I look forward to talking to my Christmas family again, you guys are a real comfort to me & I always feel great when I'm on here.

Hope you guys are all doing well, and that Christmas is still going strong.

I'll check in if I can from the road, we plan to leave Sunday, bright & early.

Good morning, MMC! How are all of you today? I am well. Just sitting here and relaxing. I am not going to do much today, but some housework and play within DS. EA is at preschool.

DH and I both have off for New Years Eve night, so we plan on going out somewhere, we just haven't decided where yet. We did make dinner reservations already though. It will be the first in at least 7 years, so I am pretty excited.

Very nice hope you enjoy it
7 years wow what a long time lol no wonder your looking forward to it

I will definitely retire this year. I still have some tiredness and pain issues. I also have several follow-up appointments. I am going to talk to the principal and superintendent when school re-opens.

I remember when I only had two boys before my daughter and other son came along and would clean when they went to bed. It was always so much easier! I would go to bed tired, but it was a good kind of tired!

I'm trying to do my share to see that we get to that 39,000! Now...back to cleaning the house now that the kids (and the husband) are in bed. No one to mess up the minute that I clean up lol! They'll have a sparkling house to muck up all day tomorrowcheesy. Have a great night everyone!:rudolph:

It is easy to do when you spend time with people of like mind who share in our day-to-day happenings. I think the key is the way we respect, care for and appreciate each other. And we care about others who are not necessarily on this site, as evidenced by Santa's Sleigh. How many people, like Merry Carey, do you know who would crochet an afghan with her own yarn and donate it to such a worthy cause? That is the Christmas Spirit in action.

Beginnings and endings it is. It reminds me of the circle of life where the two are blurred as we pass from one to the other. It also reminds me of what many ministers sometimes say when the wedding ring is is placed on the fingers of the bride and groom. When my daughter got married, I was both happy and sad--happy for her new beginning, but also sad that she was passing another threshold.

Good Morning, Friends.

Still enjoying Christmas Season 2012.
Hope you are.

Getting a little sad as we reach threads end.
But a little excited as we reach the launch of "Christmas Season 2013"!

Beginings and endings. It's that time of the year, Folks.

Hey! You have a Fabulous Friday.
(Last Weekend Eve of 2012, you know!)

I meant to add that when we mark these beginnings and endings, such as having a New Year's Eve party to mark the ending of a year and the beginning of the next, it helps to make that passage more special and more memorable. Your Countdown has done that for me. Even when we are not in the middle of a holiday, it is special to come here and experience what we have here on this forum. Thanks, Crown.

Going there right now. Be back in a few!

"Already Miss Christmas" is on Spotify for a full spin! Yep, pretty much nails it! Thanks, Ma'am!

I shared the tune on my FaceBook page so anyone with a Spotify account should be able to just click on the tune to hear it.
