Can I just express my total distain for public schools at least in my town. My son who is a sports lover and has been playing since he was 5 first off had a lousy time playing freshman football couldnt get much play time due to lots of favoritism by the coach but we told him to stick it out and he did. now its baseball season and this is by far his sport and after coaching him and his friends for years I sort of knew where he stood against most of his peers he wasnt the best player but he was a solid player better than many so after a week of tryouts he came home today only to tell me that he was one of only 4 players to be cut and its the same coach he had for football . So it takes all of my will not to give it to this coach.I am also a coach I know parents can be a pain thinking there kid is the best when thats not the case .but in this case I have first hand knowledge of all those kids and this couldnt be more of a popularity contest and its driving me crazy. sorry just needed to vent!!!!

What a shame. I feel really bad for your son, in the fact that he deserves to be there and has earned his spot. It sounds like this coach shouldn't even be coaching. Hopefully you can get involved and the school will do something about it. Good luck.

It was a long work weekend, but it's over! Our meetings went well, and the golf tournament was very successful. Phew!

Glad to hear everything went well and the golf tournament was such a success!

Well, the carousel is coming along great, it is about 1/2 done now. So challenging to put together. This thing is made entirely of cardboard, glue and patience. There are about a million pieces. When done it will actually turn and play music.
It is from built art, by Wrebbit Inc. and is called "The Enchanted Carousel"

Sounds very neat! I would love to see a finished picture!

Hello Christmas Friends

I know I haven't been here in a long time, Just wanted to let everyone know why. Little know fact about me, my ex father in law has been in my life for 12 plus years. even when his son and I divorced, and I remarried pop stayed with our family. he is my 2nd dad. On January 30 2012 our family was turned upside down. pop suffered a Hemorrhagic stroke. it's a stroke due to a brain bleed and it was in the middle of his brain. he suffered it here at home and I had to get him help. it's been a ruff 2 and a half months since then. Will he ever fully recover? we don't know..... but he can say a few words and he knows who everyone is and can at least move the left side of his body. it's going to take time, faith, and prayer.....

and now as I type this all but two of the 7 kids has the stomach virus and I haven't slept in over 24 hours.................. but I'm momma and when they are sick they want me:)

I so miss y'all and I wish merry blessing on all of you! please keep our family in your prayers thanks!!

Good to hear from you. First off, God Bless you. You're an amazing woman for all you're doing. Prayers for your FIL. Second, hope the kiddos feel better. Make sure to take care of yourself, too!

So after a yesterday's news and a serious talk between me my son and my wife we have decided to look into a school change for next year we are considering a catholic high school and also a trade high school however with my son's aspirations to follow a career in law a trade school seems out of the running. We keep telling him to get as much out of high school as you can because its gone before you know it then he keeps getting his legs cut out from under him.It is taking all of my will not be on the phone with the school but my son is begging me not to because it seems anytime a parent complains the coach makes it a point to tell the rest of the team so and so's mom or dad called to complain then it becomes hell for the kid because the rest of the team taunts them relentlessly.

I think whatever you guys make together, will be the best one for him.

I remember how cruel kids were in school. I am 26, so high school wasn't that long ago for me. Kids were so mean to each other. Hope you can everything worked out.

Good afternoon, Christmas family

Another day pounding the keys about to start. I finally heard from my employer and the person in charge of benefits, etc., wanted me to just cut back an hour each day but still work Monday through Friday. That is not going to help me. I need to cut back a full 8 hours to see if this helps and it will also give me more time in between typing and catching up on things here. In this case, I cannot compromise. I have to stick to my guns as it were. So I wrote her back and explained to her what I would like. We will see what she says.

Sugar - How are you ?? I always forget to say hello to you, how rude. I hope you and yours are well xo Big ((Hugs)) to your family and Big Caninemom ((HUGS)) to Ella xo

Hopefully when you hear back from the company, they will have good news for you.

I am good, thanks. You are not being rude - don't ever think that! I've just been really busy and when I do have down time, I've been spending it with my DH and kids, which I feel like should be my #1 priority. Big X0X0 from myself and Ella

Quick hello during lunch, then back to the grind. Thinking of everyone, as usual!

Update on the record: It arrived yesterday. It's a 1959 45-rpm EP that shows its age---it gets stuck at one point, skips at another, and has its share of clicks and pops. (Sadly, my old stereo amplifier burned out when I went to play the record, but I was able to play it on the downstairs turntable.) I'm going to digitize it and see if I can clean it up any. Anyone know of a good de-crackle freeware? Or have any tricks for "fixing" a record that gets stuck or skips? I may even try to find a second copy so I can make one good digital copy from the two (like splicing replacement footage into a damaged film).

But content-wise, it's wonderful! I want to find a way to make a good digital copy so I can share it on MCR.

Back to work ...

I don't know of anything to suggest, sorry. Sorry it is skipping, too, but glad you love the content!

I think my brother in law is getting off to easy while my sister is out of town. My mom cleaned their house yesterday and I just did all of my niece's laundry. Plus someone has cooked them dinner everynight. All he has had to do is give my niece's their bath and put them to bed.

Haha...geez...I'd say!

Good afternoon, everyone! I am FINALLY caught back up on the countdown. I hope to not get behind like that again for awhile. I just get a call here a little while from work. They want me to do 12 hours again tonight, so scratch the idea of homemade chicken potpie for dinner. DH is going to pickup pizza for dinner on his way home from work.

I am going to do a few things around the house here quick, then I have to go shower. I will have to leave the house around 6:20p or so.

Made: I read all the posts about your niece. Glad to see her last day or so has been well for her. Hope it continues. Please do continue to keep us updated. I think and pray for her often, as well as you, and your entire family.

Star: I read the post about your son. Any news on his tests results? Praying for good results. Please let us know when you know something.

Seawaters: How did your appt. go yesterday? Did you get the tubes out? I still continue to pray for you everyday. Stay strong. Xoxo.

Well folks, I am off to get things done. I will check back before leaving for work. Hope you all are enjoying your day. Talk to you all in a bit!

Oh and for everyone that sent me well wishes on the countdown, here while I was sick, thank you!!! I appreciate it greatly!!!

If you don't mind me asking, how much are you looking at spending. What does he like to do? DH is 26, so I may have some ideas.

I already spent $50 on the shirt, so I'd be willing to spend $100-150 more on him. He always does really nice things for me so he deserves it. He's a typical guy! He loves sports, movies, computer stuff, games, listening to music, going out with friends. Thanks!! :)

I am so upset!!!!!!! I just got back from the salon, I thought I loved my hair cut down there. When I stood in front of the mirror, I adjusted my hair how I always wear it, and one side is an inch and a half longer than the other - it's so noticeable! If anyone sees me they are going to think I look like a weirdo with lopsided hair!

Back to the salon I go, I guess. :(

A Sheetz gift card would be nice. Food, gas, etc. Everyone loves one of those. Or...I was thinking too - since he already has all of that Pens stuff - now I now you probably wouldn't want to go to a game yet this season, I mean they do have some a few more yet, but playoffs will get really expensive, but the two of you could go to a game together. You can usually find the for the right price if you're looking right. If he likes baseball, Pirates tickets are real cheap.

What a bummer. Sorry to hear you had a bad experience. Hope they will fix it right for you.

That's so cool! Was he on?

Almost his entire back was visible!

In case you can't spot him ...

so was it the right length when it was the style the salon gave you?
But, if you do not like the new do, then do go back and ask them to put it back the way it was!!! Now!!!
I know I have tried a few new hairstyles over the years, some I loved, some not so much. Right now I have decided to grow my hair long again, will see how long before I get annoyed with that in between stage, you know, to long to be short and to short to be long!

Well I bought 5 tickets for the lottery tonight. If I win the 363 million I promise to fly everyone to Santa Claus, Indiana for a get together.

Get him tickets to a Penguins game.
