I just have to tell you and all my friends here that I really have peace. Your prayers really lifted me up. The hard part for me will be telling my children. I have tried to figure out what to say, but right now, I just can't get there from here!!!

I wish I had sage advice but something tells me you will figure it out, like when my Nana told me, it can't be easy, but there is love and that will help you tell them. This sounds lame, I wanted it to be wise and strong that is how I see you.
I believe you will get them, at my church we have a section at the end where we do an open prayer for those in need I will put you in from my family this week.
All of the above and more!

Ahhh SW I must admit I am glad that gives you positive vibes
CM3... we should get a big group hug going for SW, think about the positive vibes a hug that will reach around the world would do to help keep SW lifted.
I will be praying to you daily. I will especially be praying to you through St. Rita. I have been praying to St. Rita when I thought things were impossible, such as when my mother was extremely sick - but she got better!

As my grandma always said, worrying is a waste of an emotion! Positive vibes are the way to go!
Okay, since I have tears in my eyes, I will tell you why!!! When my mom developed breast cancer and had a mastectomy, she wrote each of us kids (five of us) a letter. In that letter, she told each of us what she loved and admired about us (these were individual letters). Man, oh, man did I cry. She told me that she loved my strength, my wit, my sense of humor, and my love and romanticism. This happened before 1985. I took some sick leave in April 1992 to visit Mother. She gave us girls (my two sisters, my favorite cousin, and I money to go buy her funeral clothes and to have a happy lunch. She was VERY specific that we were to buy her a fushia outfit AND a new pair of shoes (SORRY, but it's the truth--WAY BEFORE the Christmas Shoes song). She said it HAD to be a fushia outfit so it would,"bring out the color of my cheeks." We all laughed and cried at the same time. We did get the fushia outfit, a suit with matching shoes. The day before my mom died in June 1992, Hospice told her that it was probably her last day. She then proceeded to call each of us kids to tell us goodbye. I was in California and Mother was in NC. You cannot believe how hard it was to hang up that phone. Now you know the rest of the story!!!

As far as I know Music Choice stops playing Christmas music tonightat midnight. I am sitting here listening to the last of the carols. I can't seem to part with my tree this year at least not yet. So I am leaving it up. Maybe I will take it down next weekend and........maybe not !!

Awww that is such a touching story! I think it is so adorable how your mother clearly wanted a fuchsia outfit. That's priceless! You sound like you had such a great relationship with her. The idea of the letter is so sweet and is something that will never lose its value. It is so nice that you had two sisters and your cousin to be with you during that difficult time. At least you were able to find some humor in the sadness. She sounded like a great mother.
