For me when I was a kid September started feeling like Christmas, because that is when you would start to see the Time-Life Treasury of Christmas records commercials, it would take 6-8 weeks shipping so they played it in September. I have said this in the past, but that is one of my strongest memories of childhood Christmas. When i see that commercial now on Youtube I still get that same feeling, I know I use to stop whatever I was doing to watch it.

Thanks for posting this! It was my favorite commercial too so I ordered the cassettes. I wore those out, then ordered the CD's when they became available and have those now. It is my very favorite Christmas CD that I listen to over and over every year! Do you happen to own it as well?

I enjoyed watching this commercial! Maybe you could upload it in the Christmas Commercial section of the forums! =)

Dumb things to do on a Sunday

I am SUPER tired! We had the busiest day I have seen in a very long time. Everyone was out gardening and buying up pest control stuff today. The line was out the door almost all day. It was a good day though. We always have the most delightful customers and they are so patient no matter how busy we get and how long they have to wait. Makes it all worthwhile!

Now my son-in-law called this evening to tell me he has a very full week so I will have the grandchildren over for 10-12 hours a day everyday. Fun times! :razz:

I hope to be able to visit on here but if you don't see me, that is why. It will be a good week! cheesy

Sugar- I just talked to one of my great aunt's and she said that it's starting to snow back there. Stay Safe out there on the roads on your way to and from work.

Hey everyone!!

Finally got the house quiet with everyone in bed but me. Ahhh, a lovely cuppa peppermint tea and enjoying the cold front that is currently moving through. (50 degrees with a wind chill of 46 in Alabama in April is considered cold enough for hot tea)

My husband starts vacation tomorrow so we are going to spend the week getting the yard ready for spring (and his birthday grilling out party on Friday!) and just enjoying his not having to go to work for seven days.

Good evening, MMC. Hope you're all doing well! As I am sure some of you've seen, today is my birthday. To me, it's just another day, but to my surprise, my-co-workers and family has made it very nice for me.

I know I told you earlier in the week what my mom and I did together. Last night, my co-workers had a party for me at work - they brought in all kinds of food and a cake. I was so surprised. I had no idea they were doing it. They even sang "Happy Birthday" to me. I work with such great people.

When I came home this morning, my daughter was waiting right inside the house and wished me a Happy Birthday. She gave me a hug and kiss. What more could you ask for? There was roses and a gift for them and my husband. Then my daughter sang "Happy Birthday." Lastly, before I fell asleep, my husband brought over my son and he simply said, "Hi." It made for the best day!

Right now, the kids and I are just spending time together. DH is at work and I go into work at 11. Him and I are both off tomorrow, so we'll both be able to spend the day together tomorrow. My sister should be here soon to watch the kids for me tonight.

Thanks for everyone who have wished me Happy Birthday on here. You all mean so much to me. MMC is such a wonderful place and it's like a second home to me. You guys are great!

Well, off to drink a cup of coffee and get cup up on the rest of the boards!

Hope you all had a good weekend. i had a really lazy one done nothing much only watch tv. but back to the grind mill today
The guy with the drink problem him and the girlfriend i think have got back together. she texted last night to say she was gonna see him and give it another go
I texted him to ask but no answer. my mate has said that he just used me when he had no one else and now that hes happy again what odds about me.. i wood not like to think so as i did spent this past 4 days trying to sort him and her out and help with his drink probelm. but where the drink is concerned i no its only a matter of time befour hes goes on another rip
Am kinda worrid about cm3 she had said yesterday that ivy was having probelms breathing. and i told her not to think twice about contacting the vet have heard nothing back. i hope everything is ok !!!
Forgot to say during the week a new supplier i have found does the tv shopping channel returns(these are items that when they arrive the person does not like them or the box is damaged or arrivered to late) and i have bought some of them. but one of the pallets has 4 thomas kinkade christmas tree,s on it. i dont have that so am keeping one. i only have the santa and the night befour christmas story light up story house. so a pallet of this stuff is coming in today. think its a household one
Got one the other day it was a lot of solar lights and ornaments. they are going so well that i ordered another one that has more solar lights on and a mixture of other bits will get it tomorrow.
So monday again!! the weeks are going so fast.

Ok - I am done with the rain now! The leak we thought we had fixed late last fall apparently has migrated a bit (it's just in a windowsill in our bedroom, thankfully!)... but regardless... ENOUGH NOW, RAIN! Until the leak is fixed, anyway!

good monday morning ya'll! wow, where did the weekend go?

i didn't do anything yesterday. watched tv, napped, ate...yep that's it!

there's quite a bit i need to do today but i'll wait & see how it goes. seem to be in a "funk" right now. feel exhausted ALL the time, see things i need to be doing but i don't do them. hhmmm, laziness comes to mind.

i did help my son w/ a paper he was writing yesterday. i hope he does well on it.

She seems to be doing okay....I think I was just panicking a little but I am still going to talk with her doctor today ...I will let you know what he says... I have to find out exactly what symptoms I should be watching for... She is always and has always been a little on the heavy breathing side...I just have to figure out what is baseline and what is not

An Ice Cream Van just came through our neighborhood!!!!!!!!!

I know some of you were talking about yours this past week. We've never had one here on this block before. I always thought that was weird.

Anyways, the best part.....

It was playing Christmas music!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I had to do a double take, first I heard Deck The Halls, then Santa Claus Is Coming To Town!!!!!!!

We have a truck that comes in this area during the summer. I only bought once from them, prices were crazy and the icecream was not very good. They also never play Christmas music!
