Christmas Countdown - 2012

I will be off to chemo soon. Who else wants to go? We plan to stay with friends tonight so Hubby can help his friend with some Elks paperwork. Be back tomorrow.

Good morning,

It is another scorcher up here today, (for me a scorcher is anything above 75) it is going get near 90* with humidity it will feel like 200*. I ran and did my errands this morning, LC is my sidekick today since daycare is closed for professional development, which is why I am working a half day today. We stopped off at Goodwill to donate some of LC's old clothes and of course I checked out the Christmas merchandise, I am kicking myself now I almost bought 3 boxes of vintage Christmas ornaments made by Shiny Brite, I hope they will still be there tomorrow. They are at least 25 years old in their original boxes, they were sold by a long defunct (at least 13 years) retailer named Bradlees, they were $1.50 per box. I hope they will be there tomorrow. If not it wasn't meant to be.

I will be trying to stay cool today.

June 1 is the anniversary of the tornado, the National Weather Service just announced that a county west of us, and New York State is in a tornado watch until 9pm tonight, it is too close to home right now. The anniversary has been stirring a lot of emotions around here, and to have this now 3 days away from June 1 is freaking me out a little right now, once again just like last year I won't be home if things change. Now I will feel very stressed out at work tonight.

i think its only naterial to feel like that. after all is was a really bad experience. for you but hopefully it will be ok .

Wow, is it hot! 93* with a heat index of 103* AC is working hard right now. I will be heading to work in a few minutes. I am feeling better but still apprehensive about the tornado watch to the west, but it looks like the Vermont/Canada border is getting hit with severe weather, I hope your family in Vermont is safe Christmastar. I will be back later this evening.

We just got back from my grandson's award ceremony. One award was given to a boy for "Perfect Attendance", he didn't come to the front and someone said, "He's absent today".

As many award ceremonies I have been to, this is a first! :lol:

Hey everyone! How are you all doing? Sorry I am MIA for replying to the posts, but we had a bad storm on Friday and it knocked out our wifi. Our main computer is upstairs, in our extra room, which is actually the kids playroom, but the laptop is so much more nice and the kids don't always want to be up there, which I get. As soon as we get the problem fixed, I will post more and reply more.

Made: Maybe you can help. What I don't get is he wifi is working on my phone, but not my computer. It doesn't work on my tablet either. I have a signal, but it just says obtaining address. We've reset everything. Thanks for you guys help!

1st question- Are you sure that your phone is connecting to your network and not someone else's unsecured network?

If it is connecting to your network then it sounds like the wireless modem isn't accepting the security code the laptop and tablet are giving it.

Have you tried dismissing the network from your computer and re-adding it?

If not go to the control panel on the laptop and select network and Internet. Then click network and sharing center. Next go to manage wireless networks and select your network. Then click on remove. Then you can add it back on.

On my tablet I can go under the manage wireless connections and it gives me the option of deleting a network off of the tablet.

The anniversary has been stirring a lot of emotions around here, and to have this now 3 days away from June 1 is freaking me out a little right now, once again just like last year I won't be home if things change. Now I will feel very stressed out at work tonight.

I'm sure it is very unnerving, xmas. Just know we all support you, and will be keeping you in our thoughts & prayers.

Good Morning MMC!!!!!! It's going to be another hot one here in central Indy with a high of 84. At least it's not going to be as hot as the last couple of days. I talked to my sister this morning and it looks like my plan to annoy her on her vacation is going as planned. I told both of my niece's that they had to get their picture taken with every Santa they saw while on vacation. So as they were driving into Santa Claus, Indiana yesterday my niece's started yelling that my BIL had to pull over so they could get their picture taken with the welcome sign. Then they saw the one in front of the dollar store and had to pull over and get their picture taken with it. I can't wait until they head into downtown!! Well I'm off to get some errands run now that the rain has stopped. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Today is our 30th wedding anniversary. Hard to believe. We spent Sunday night in Gatlinburg, TN just to get to get away for a couple of days. Weather was clear but hot. We did go to the 'Incredible Christmas Place" in Pigeon Forge. I always feel better just walking around there.

Oh, you HAVE to get those ornaments! I wish I still had the Shiny Brites we used to put on our tree ... the repros are okay, but I sure miss the originals.

The originals were well made - I'm glad I inherited my dad's Christmas ornaments. I don't use them, but I do take them out and look at them every now and then.

there is a storm in Vermont!!! I did not know this...wait I will check...

the storms are on the other side of the lake from where my sister lives so at least my family is safe. Will pray that others also stay safe.

When we get a storm here and it knocks out the wfi I have to unplug the thing for a couple of munutes and that usually fixes it.

I know! Lol! I just wonder how that works. The kid was really absent, it wasn't a joke so I am curious if he still gets the award that was already made out to him? I am guessing since there are only a few more days left of school they will go ahead and give it to him. It caught everyone off guard and was so funny!
